ugh, busted? You think they are really cool? If this is a joke its a really bad one. I find their music absolutely terrible! There so trendy, and they probably don't even write their own songs. I saw a documentary of them and they asked them how they wrote their songs, and Charlie said " Well, I might start with a chord of C, then move to a D" and I was like " yeah right, your record company probably writes your music for you". They don't even have a drummer in their band, thats how fake they are.

On TV I saw a concert in which one of them was playing a guitar solo, and their string snapped, but they carried on playing regardless, which proves that they were faking it because the pitch didn't drop at all.

With all the people I know, they're regarded as a kinda joke ... nobody takes them seriously at all, they just laugh whenever anybody says " busted ".

I think I'm done slagging them, so here is what I think is good about them:

hmmm.... i don't mind busted so much. They are not my favourite group in the whole world but i've heard a lot worse.

Their video for 'crashed the wedding' was hilarious. It looked like alot of fun.

My sister (aged 13) really likes Busted. Although I think their Music is a bit silly it's okay, they're having a bit of fun and it's not as if thery're pretending to be anything that they're not.

SSdraken, they do write most of their own songs because I was flicking through the CD booklet to have a laugh at the stupid lyrics and it does say that most of the songs were written by C Simpson/J Bourne/M Jay and I don't think that they could get away with that if they didn't write them. Also, I respect your opinion, but I think there are a lot of band who are a lot more fake. (The words Westlife, and S Club Juniors come to mind)

There are two things that do annoy me about Busted.
1) Although they are British, they use American words and phrases. They refer to High School and Semestas. Not that there is anything wrong with Americans, but I think that they should be proud to be British and not pretend to be American because they think it is 'cooler'
2) They are actually quite good songwriters, because some of the songs on their albums are very good. But they always release the ones that are really silly and then wonder why some people don't take them seriously.

Has anyone seen the Video (or heard the song) for The new Thunderbirds (ha!) movie? It is performed by Busted.
Current Thunderbirds fan opinion is that we finally have a theme song worse than "Flying High" (The original TB theme, it was so bad it was never used!).
However they ARE good performers.

reply to ssdraken:

Fair enough. The songs they release are immature/silly-lines like 'air hostess, I like the way you dress' are bad and even I laughed and can understand why some people may not have alot of respect for their music. But they do write their own songs, and play their own music and from what I've seen they do play live. There are better songs on their album than the ones they release- Which puzzles me!

Anyway, i respect your view and can see what you mean by them being regarded as abit of a joke-but im not a sheep so it doesnt affect my oppinion of them.

OK bumping this up because I have to say that even as a supposed "adult" who has been complemented on her taste in music I really like Busted. I tend to agree with the above posters who have defended them a) they DO write their own songs b) they never take themselves too seriously c) the other songs on the albums that don't get released wouldn't look out of place on those supposed "cool" artists albums. OK some of the song's they've released are on the cheesy side but... Don't be so quick to judge. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean that it doesn't have value. Matt and co. have some really good songs (listening to Meet You There now in fact which is gorgeous).
The reason I bumped this up is because I went to see them last night. I wasn't looking forward to it that much because of the reputation they have. The only reason I was going was it was my friend’s birthday present. I was really impressed. They could sing, play their instruments (oh hate to say this but Charlie is a drummer as well as a guitarist so they do have a drummer...) AND entertain everyone from the littlest fan all the way up to the 100's of 20 something’s (male and female) who were having a great laugh. I came away converted. I liked them well enough before but I was surprised at how good they were.

I have to say that I really can't stand Busted, never have never will...I really don't get the big fuss with them they are not that good, and it is mostly teenyboppers that like them. And the other thing, did anyone watch record of the year, no way was that record of the year...and Cat Deeley said let me introduce the guitar legends that are Busted, I nearly choked on my tea...GUITAR LEGENDS, sorry for being dumb but when I think of guitar legends I think of somebody like Jimi Hendrix, etc

Okay, rant over

No more odd than having Gary Oldman as villan of the year in a film that he's actually one of the hero's of. ;)
I agree the song's not Record of the Year (but then the one chosen never is...), they aren't guitar legends (not many people are and Cats a bit of an airhead so...) and it is mostly teenybobbers that like them (because everyone else takes one look at their singles and say's erm... no. There were a surprising number of older teenagers and 20 plus people there last night). Doesn't make them any less valid. :)

hey I know he's not the villain, wasn't me that put him in the category, I'm just voting for him as he is my favourite actor (and he starts off as the villain anyway)

I hate Busted.

But it annoys me when people say things like "oh look at Busted, they don't even write their own songs", or "oh look at Busted, they don't even have a drummer". Who cares? If you don't like a band, why complain about it? Just ignore it and leave the people that do like it alone.

What about 'they don't play their guitars'?
I seriously dislike their music, but hey, they are welcome to play it in a soundproof box... under the ocean... off the coast of New Zealand .

I like busted, especially "What i go to school for" i find that song very catchy. The only other song i heard from them was crashed the wedding. it was alright, stupid film clip though.

oh no. Not these guys again. I watch the show "America Or Busted" only to the extent that I want to see how these guys cope with being labelled "pop band" or "boy band". But, the music is awfully ridiculous. "What I Go To School For", to be taken away by your 45 year old teacher? Ew, no thanks.

They seemed to be very self centered.I got the impression they didn't want anyone else to make it big. I didn't like them anyway. And who are they to get political?
