Have not got any of the animated series but the rest I have including some of the books, just love these series.
What's your favorite...
Show? Deep Space Nine or Next Generation.

Ship? Enterprise D.
Movie? The Wrath of Khan.
Book? Star Trek 6 one of the old grey colored series.
Character? Dax, Barkley (he is funny).
Villian? Q the best trouble maker to ever walk around the universe.
Alien? The Borg.
Planet visited? Setti Alpha Five.
Weapon? The Holographic Doctor.
Episode? Trouble with Tribles, Trials and Tribulations and anything with the borg and Q in it and Ship in a Bottle.

Woohoo I can admit to my second-most embarrasing thing I like!! :p
Anyways...
What's your favorite...
Show? DS9 baby!!!
Captain? Sisko aka "Hawk" (anyone else remember that?? anyone...please?). Kirk a close second.
Ship? I really don't care...I guess the Enterprise D.
Movie? ST IV (the funny one with the whales for you non-fans...who likely aren't reading this...doh.)
Book? "Sarek" tied with "Best Destiny"
Character? eh...oh! How could I forget...Weyoun. (Anyone sensing a pattern here?) Also...because I was a teen when TNG aired: Wesley Crusher. *burns with shame*
Villian? Weyoun, especially when combined with Dukat. Also, though I hate to admit it, that clown guy on Voyager that fed off of people's fears in the dream world when they were all in stasis...I think that's how it went.
Alien? Vulcans...all of them except the pathetic one on Voyager (not Tuvok, the other one...Vorik?)
Planet visited? ehh...how about the crazy carnival planet from TOS...where everyone's fantasies were becoming true...my memory is foggy...
Weapon? no opinion, they don't have very many kick-*** weapons on Trek...
Episode? "Far Beyond the Stars" (DS9). Side note that the funniest ep I've ever seen was the one with the doc's fantasy life on Vger, which was being watched by the aliens.
Couple? eh...oh I don't know. I have a soft spot for Picard/Beverly and Kira/Odo. I was a Janeway/Chakotay shipper too and I am ashamed to admit that a little part of me is rooting for Trip/T'Pol.
Battle? any on DS9- season 6/7. Possibly the ground battle in "Siege of AR-558" (not sure of the title) because it's an awesome eppy even without a space battle.
Whew! That took a while...

My favorite Star Trek: The original series
My favorite Captain: Captain James T. Kirk (who is, was and ALWAYS will be the best)
My favorite ship: The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701 or NCC 1701-A
My favorite ST movie:The wrath of Khan
I'm not really into Star Trek books
My favorite character: actually it's characters: Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu, Chekov
My favorite villan: This is a hard one, but I'll have to say Khan or Kor the first Klingon ever to meet Kirk face to face
My favorite alien: I don't know why, but I've always been partial to Vulcans they are after all.... the logical choice
as far as planets go, I think the journey to Farpoint was interesting
The best weapon? a good old standard loaded phaser, photon torpedos are good too
My favorite episode: The trouble with Tribbles, city on the edge of forever
couples:Warf and Dax
I'll go along with you with the battle of Wolf 359, I also liked the battle at the end of the movie "The undiscovered country" between the Enterprise, the Klingon ship and Captain Sulu's ship which I believe was named The Excaliber- but I could be wrong

Book: Reunion
Character: Data
Villian: Moriarty
Alien: Romulans
Weapon: Veron-T Disrupter
Episode: Measure of a Man, The Offspring
Couple: Picard/Crusher, Janeway/Checotay
I have always thought that Cedric Diggory was like the guys in the red uniforms in the Original Star Trek Series. You know what happened to them. They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time and got zapped usually without knowing what hit them. :upset:

Trekkie? I'm a "trekker" thankyou very much... :D
What's your favorite...
Show? TNG
Captain? Picard or Janeway
Ship? Defiant
Movie? First Contact (it's amusing)
Book? Don't know, don't read ST books!
Character? I have many... uhmmm... Data, Quark, Seven or Doctor Bashir?
Villian? Borg Queen
Alien? Borg! Klingons too.
Planet visited? I confess I don't remember planet names (and can't be bothered to look any up)
Weapon? phaser!
Episode? too many. DS9 "Trials and Tribble-ations" is high on the list.
Couple? Don't have one.
Battle? Don't have any there either.
I have to admit I really like Star Trek, and I think each of the series in their own way has something special. I like the character development and the glimpses of human concerns that make their way into the action sequences. It can be fun or it can be thought-provoking.

You know, I was going to say Earth for the planet as well. It is neat when they come back to it b/c it is very rare on any of the shows. :)
My fav's on Enterprise:
Character - Malcolm Reed and Doctor Phlox
Ship - the Vulcan ships look really neat
Book - haven't read any yet
Villian - The Sphere-Builders
Alien - Suliban and the Andorians - "The Blue People" Love the wiggly antennas! :rotfl:
Battle - against the Klingons
Planet visited - Risa
Weapon - Xindi sphere
Episode - Season 1 - Dear Doctor
Couple - I'm out to lunch on this one, so far I don't see anyone as being a good couple, but if you held a phaser to my head, I would rather see Acher and T'pol together, instead of Trip and T'pol.
I was also very interested in the growing part of Esign Culter, played by Kellie Waymire, in the first season and very saddened to hear about her untimely death.

What's your favorite...
Show: The Next Generation.
-The fact this was what Rodenberry really wanted makes this special to me. It shows not fighting to solve problems, or how humans are better then everyone else, and there are no giant floating heads (honestly, how many aliens in the orriginal were giant floating heads?).
Now I have nothing against a good Sci Fi space battle from time to time, but I want to see the mind improves just as much in the future as our weapons do.
Plus Q and Picard are just fun together.
Captain: Picard.
- An English man playing a French man, and remains the pride of Star Fleet due to his philosophy and his ability to work with people of just about any species.
Mind over matter always means more to me.
Ship: Looking at the ships on the outside, I say the DS9 Klingon Bird of Prey.
Looking on the inside of the ship, I always liked Vulcan ships (Enterprise)
All in all though, the Andorian ship from Enterprise is my favourite.
Movie: Alas, I never really liked any of the movies that much. I do admit I like seeing Kang and his fake plastic chest.
Book: The series ' The Captains Table' are quite good and often quite orriginal. My favourite in that series remains Janeway's story, as it shows her when she is at the bottom instead of the top. Quite a good read, I recomend it to all.
However, the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds series is good, which is a collection of stories writen for a contest by fans.
Metaphysics of Star Trek, now that is an intresting read.
Character: Is the tribble on Kirk's head a character (that can't be real hair, he must be wearing a tribble up there).
It is a tie for me, Picard and Q are both great characters because they show off human nature so well. Plus it shows that even with power, it is often the mind that matters most.
Villian: Well I would like to say the Tribble in DS9 that had a bomb in him, but it wasn't a real villain.
So I will have to go with Quark. Yes he wasn't a majour villian, and mainly just to Odo, but where would be without a nemisis for law and order on a station?
For a majour villian, I would have to say the Founders.
Alien: Tribble, but they don't count.
The Cardassian's would be it. For they were exactly what we could be. Unlike most aliens in the shows, they were three dimensional beings who could really exist.
Of course, once again this species it was were the brain was, for how to handle situations and deal with them were important. Not how to fight or how much money you had.
Planet visited: Risa, for even the most advance minds need a rest from time to time.
Weapon: As Q said, ourselves.
Man-made weapons though, the Bajorian knives were intresting.
Episode: I forget the title and air date, but the one where Picard lives the entire life of a man on a doomed planet. The episode where he gets the flute he plays.
I liked the episode because it showed human emotion, and making the best of the last days you have.
Couple: Data and Yar, they were nice together.
Battle: Either the battle of Wolf 359 or the Battle for Cardassia. Seeing Cardassians rebel and fight for their freedom gave me much joy. Plus it was wonderful to see Damar die a hero I knew he could be.
While I never did like the orriginal series (the giant floating heads may to be blamed), I love the series from the Next Generation to Enterprise (which tricks me with horrible episodes and then surprises me with wonderful episodes to keep me watching).
Plus it is nice to see a socity of the future where Communisim works. True Communisim mind you, not Socialist.
Just curious, how many people think Kirk ever said "Beam me up Scotty" in the show?

Just curious, how many people think Kirk ever said "Beam me up Scotty" in the show?
He never says this, I think Kirk only ever stated Beam me up, Beam me aboard, Beam us up or Two to Beam up.

Isn't it funny how that's probably the most well known Star Trek line and it was never said in the shows. I remember when I was little, I would run around saying that line all the time to my brother, pretending to play Star Trek. Then sometime during high school, I found out it was never said in the show. So just how did it get started?

I could be wrong but I think the character he referred to is actually Khan. Khan Noonien Singh? There is a Klingon named Kang that was in TOS and in DS9 but not in any of the movies.
Khan was a genetically bred "superhuman" and the reference of the plastic chest would be to his body.
I think he is referring to the second Star Trek movie, The Wrath of Khan.
List of movies to date:
Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
Star Trek Generations
Star Trek: First Contact
Star Trek: Insurrection
Star Trek: Nemesis

I have always had this annoying little question in the back of my mind after watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. When Picard talks to Q at the very end of the episode All Good Things Come to an End, Q nearly lets slip what humanity is to evolve into. Q states that eventually humanity will follow exploration with endless possibilities and I just could not help but think that Q was referring to humanity evolving into the Q Continuum as they explore themselves the endless possibilities and nothing seems impossible to them.
So does Q believe that humanity is its ancestral link to the past or that they will evolve into a species similar to Q and that is why Q is so fascinated with humanity itself?
You-Know-Who

I think that's possible, he always seem to target humans anyway.
About Khan and his fake chest, well its not fake its really his chest. It was on the Wrath of Khan commentary :)
Oh well there are rumours that the next Star Trek movie is about a certain event. At the moment it appears to the Romulan - Terran War, should be interesting, if done correctly.

There seems to be possiblity of another movie. It's been listed in the IMDB for awhile. Not sure of which series though. I remember hearing somewhere that Patrick Stewart said he won't come back for another. Who knows?
Nemesis - dont' get me started! :td: For starters I think a few of the deleted scenes should have been left in. It didn't seem long enough to be a movie.
So does Q believe that humanity is its ancestral link to the past or that they will evolve into a species similar to Q and that is why Q is so fascinated with humanity itself?
Goodness, its been a looong time since I watched that one, but from what I remember, I think I kinda had that same impression but also that it was possible humanity might even go further then the Q continuum.

Ok, according to the IMDB this is the possible plot for the next movie. Everyone hold on to your seats!! It's so "new" and original sounding!! How the heck many eras are there from the start of Enterprise up to Kirk's time?
Plot Outline: In this prequel to James T. Kirk's era, but set after the era of "Enterprise" The Romulans are close to beginning a war with the fledgling Federation.

What made me think even more was what Q tells Picard, that he can not fix the anomaly for humanity, why, he has done that before unless the Prime Directive of the Federation is something the Q Continuum still holds onto. The Prime Directive specifically states that there can be no interference with the time continuum and Q followed that rule for the first time, though I guess he would if the Q where to evolve from humanity because if they are related then Q could wipe out the Continuum by interfering and changing there own evolutionary time line.
The new film has been stated by the director Rick Berman to be a prequel according to the interview in Dreamwatch magazine.
Speaking in issue #117, Berman confirms for the first time that he is now developing a STAR TREK feature film project: "I am involved in the very early stages of what could be the next STAR TREK movie," reveals Berman. "It's something I will be producing with two other producers."Rick Berman describes it as "a prequel" without any more information.
Paramount may be working on a project the site described as "Starfleet Command." Harve Bennett who directed the second-fourth movies actually put forward an idea about a Starfleet Academy-based STAR TREK movie.
So it could be about the Next Generation at the academy and we did see a young academic Captain Picard in one of the Next Generations episodes: Little Rascals.
Edit:Where did the information about the Romulans come from as Rick Berman will not give out any further information other than it being just a prequel and does not give any plot detail. I would not mind reading this information myself if it is very recent news about the film? In fact he will not even state the names of the other two directors working along side him yet.

Show? Deep Space Nine, although Next Generation has been my favourite from infancy until very recently. Yes, infancy.
Captain? Sisko.
Ship? Actually, none of the ships have been all that impressive... though Crusher's in "All Good Things" was rather stunning. I guess I'd have to go with that one.
Movie? The Voyage Home.
Book? I'm not that bad. :p
Character? Data. Definitely. I've always identified with him. Though Guinan and Phlox are also great.
Villain? I liked Brad Dourif's villain in Voyager... and the Tar that killed Yar. There have been a lot of good ones...
Alien? Denobulans.
Planet visited? Whichever one it was that they found in "The City On the Edge of Forever". No, not Earth. The one the portal was on. ;)
Weapon? Crystalline Entity... Though it was more misunderstood than anything. Perhaps V'Ger... I like the vast misunderstood sentients.
Episode? Emergence! Yes! Forever!
Couple? Guinan and Picard. And they weren't even really a couple.
Battle? None in particular... Do psychological ones count? Data's nightmares were interesting...

Looking over the lists of favs so far, I see quite a few people picked DS9 as fav show and Picard as fav Captain. That's interesting! I really liked DS9 but I think out of all the shows, that one I saw the least of b/c it was hard for me to stay up with it during college and now it is never on any of our channels it seems. Slowly, I am collecting the seasons on DVD but I'm only up to season 5 of TNG. Then I'll probably move on to DS9. :)
Anyone staying up with Enterprise? I had been really good at keeping up the first two seasons especially, but this last season was hard to watch b/c of work and such. What are your thoughts on the season finale?

That's too bad, because most of Season 3 is very good, compared to the first two seasons, which blatantly said... sucked. Excluding a few rare gems, of course... Broken Bow was good, and Dear Doctor...
Also, I can't say what I thought about the finale, because I haven't seen it. But since I completely disregard all spoilers, I still know what happened.
Well, good luck with Season 3.

Show? Star Trek:TNG. Easy one.
Captain? Jean-Luc Picard. Another easy one.
Ship? OK, now it gets interesting: I'd have to say the Defiant.
Movie? Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan. I love Ricardo Montalban.
Book? Actually, it's a series: The Captain's Table series.
Character? Morn, the big-headed alien at Quark's.
Villian? Can't remember his name, but the Klingon played by Christopher Plummer in ST6.
Alien? The Gorn. Cheesy, but menacing.
Planet visited? Don't know the name, but it was in Shore Leave (original series).
Weapon? The Planet Killer. I mean, dang. Talk about overkill.
Episode? City on the Edge of Forever, Amok Time, or the second Tribble episode. Can't decide.
Couple? Riker and Troi. They're so cute in Insurrection.
Battle? Again, gotta go to an old standby: Kirk and Khan, ST2.

I didn't know that. I did read somewhere that the scientists at NASA liked Babylon 5 when it was on, because they said all the "future technology" stuff in that show was possible with our current level of knowledge (or something like that).

A lot of the scientific sick bay tools are now used in medicine. (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2004/03/15/BUGLV5J6GT1.DTL)
There is also some more information about Gene R. here. (http://www.museum.tv/archives/etv/R/htmlR/roddenberry/roddenberry.htm)

He was a very interesting man, who was very talented. Gene Roddenberry served as an US Army Air Corps pilot and was in WWII. He actually had a friend during the war named Kim Noonien Singh who disappeared after the war. They say that's why he used the name so much in Star Trek b/c he always wanted Singh to contact him.

ST NG - The two part episode with the Borg. Picard has been kidnapped and is Locutus. Riker and company managed to save Picard.
Also, the one where something odd is happening to Worf, and they are in some sort of time flux, and Enterprises from other timelines are appearing in the current time line. The scene where one of the Enterprises is badly damaged because it was pulled from a losing battle with the Borg was really good.
DS9 - One of the earlier episodes where the Cardassians are coming back to take over the station. The evacuate and a skeleton crew of Sisko, Kira, Dax, Odo, etc are hiding and basically fight back to reclaim the station.

Hello! Any fellow Trekkers (I will insist on using that term) read the editorial on mugglenet comparing hardcore Trekkers to 'Potterheads'? -->Sidenote: Uhg. The person who wrote that article seems to have the opinion that obsession only becomes a bad thing when other people start to think you're less cool for it. I'll just assume they still go to school, since that was kind of important then, and forgive them for being so...I can't think of a polite word.
For heaven's sake, obsession may not be a good thing, but if you're trying to reduce your obsession, do it for your own benefit, not for other people's.
And for the record, I don't know a single star trek fan who owns a uniform or speaks klingon. I'm sure these people exist somewhere, but no sensible person is going to like someone less for being a fan of something, whether it be star trek or harry potter.

When I saw Star Trek in the 60's it was great. Now it's just funny to watch how primative it really was.
TNG is my favorite show.
Captain - Picard was so handsome but he seldom went with the landing party. Kirk was a get it done kind of guy. Kirk gets my vote.
SHIP - Picards Enterprise
MOVIE - The Voyage Home only because it was filmed in San Francisco.
Character - Mrs. Roddenbery as Troi's mother. Her scene with ODO in the elevator is so beautiful. (She was in everything including being the voice of ALL the computers.)
Weapon - Phazers

I agree.
I read the editorial by Shelby Bren and I have to agree with what was said mostly.
We still have the same argument going round that we are all "sad". We have Football fans that dress up and paint their faces and they aren't classed as "sad". Most Star Trek/Babylon 5/Star Wars, et al, fans don't wear costumes except for the fancy dress competitions. The press decided we were "sad" and targeted the small amount of fans who wear costumes just to bolster that image.
Most of the fans that I meet are well adjusted, happy and good for a laugh (and not in "uniform"). I met a lot of my friends through fandom, and also my partner.
You are always going to get a minority who are OTT just as the fans in football have ones who are OTT.
We are hurting no-one and so I say : Enjoy your obsession, do keep an eye on reality, but have fun with it. There is nothing wrong, actually we don't want people to be the same.
Gene Roddenberry called it right when he said
"IDIC" which is "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations"

They have been considering it, and it was a possibility. It might still be, I'm not sure.
I've been watching it off and on. I wasn't interested in the temporal cold war thing, but the last ep with Brent Spiner was definitely interesting (and not just b/c he was in it). I'm little young to be totally up on the Original Series, but the fact that they were going on about the Eugenics War (or whatever it is called) was facinating.
QUESTION: Nonien Soong (erhg, spelling) was alive before the Eugenics War? Before the Original Series? Are we talking the same Soong? As in Crystalline Entity, Lor, Data, ect?
Fawkes_Rising

I think they're referring to Khan Noonien Singh (not Soong), who was alive before and during the Eugenics War, and was genetically enhanced. Khan from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

Madame Malfoy, if you feel like reading, here's a link to a summary of the end of Voyager. They're not really too long. I just looked them up b/c after reading your post, I really couldn't remember much of how it ended except for them getting back. They got back after like 23 years and several people died.(Seven is one) Janeway then goes back in time and gets then back much sooner and defeats the Borg with tech from the future. Nellix (sp?) staying behind in the Delta Quad, b/c they came across a colony of his own kind.
When I can't remember what happens in an episode or I miss one of Enterprise, I usually look them up on www.startrek.com under Series & Movies. :) A good place to "catch up."

Ooh, Mr Kotter can I join in.:)
What's your favorite...
Show? Definately TOS.
Captain? Kirk, but Picard takes a close second.
Ship? 1701, no A, B, C, or bloody D.
Movie? 2, The Wrath of Kahn.
Book? John M Ford's The final reflection. Superb Klingon piece.
Character? Mccoy. I'm a doctor not a journalist. Close runner up would be Scotty.
Villian? I wanted to say the Borg but Voyager has really ... erm ... emasculated them as a villain. I'll say Kahn.
Alien? The Trill from DS9. Nicole De boer (sp?) is seriously cute and about three hundred years too old for me. :eyebrows:
Planet visited? Hmm, a hard one. Probably Genesis.
Weapon? The TOS doomsday machine.
Episode? So many good ones but I really liked City on the edge of forever. A genuine classic.
Couple? No real opinion.
Battle? Split between the Nebula battle in Wrath of Kahn and the Romulan conflict in Balance of Terror. Both were takes on classic Destroyer / Submarine chases.
Oh and I gave up on Trek after the first season of Enterprise. That series just destroyed the whole franchise for me.
I have always thought that Cedric Diggory was like the guys in the red uniforms in the Original Star Trek Series. You know what happened to them. They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time and got zapped usually without knowing what hit them. :upset:
Good point, never thought of that before. I kind of get that feeling with a lot of the Hufflepuffs though.
Movie: Alas, I never really liked any of the movies that much. I do admit I like seeing Kang and his fake plastic chest.
Actually if it's Kahn you are referring to that wasn't fake, it was really Ricardo Montelban (sp?).
Villian? Can't remember his name, but the Klingon played by Christopher Plummer in ST6.
Chang.
Interestingly enough when I see what sort of a fan base Harry Potter has developed over recent years I am always reminded of the way we felt about Trek in the seventies. Always watching reruns, waiting for new books and looking up conventions. The only thing missing was the internet and the more thorough global connection that this has allowed.

Deep Space Nine. By far the best.
Captain? Captain Picard.
Ship? Enterprise-D.
Movie?
First Contact. Definitely the coolest of the TNG movies, and I'm not really a TOS fan.
Character?
Enterprise: I hate this show. Gaah. What did you do to my continuity? But, from the one season I saw, I rather liked Reed. Too bad that they're probably never going to develop any of the characters outside of T'Pol, Trip, and Archer.
Voyager: The Doctor, Torres. Least favorite: Chakotay, Neelix. (Note to Robert Beltran: You're playing a Native American, not a cigar store Indian.)
Next Generation: Ensign Ro (the first really good female character ever...aside from perhaps Shelby), Worf, Data, Riker. Least favorite: Troi. (I sense...danger. Why couldn't TNG have had stronger female characters?) And Wesley Crusher, of course. Doesn't everyone hate Wesley?
DS9: Ezri, Kira, Garak, Jadzia, Odo. Least favorite: Um...I really love most of them. Even the evil ones (Dukat, Winn) are great actors. Also, Weyoun is great, no matter what the number.
TOS: Don't watch it. But Spock is cool.
New Frontier: Okay, so it's a book series. But I still love it, and it's better than the current TV incarnation of Trek. My favorite characters are: Calhoun, Soleta, and Zak. Least favorite: Selar.
Villain? Q
Alien? Klingons are fun. I also like the Trill (as if you couldn't tell from my username.)
Episode? There are so many! I love the entire station occupation arc of Ds9, "Our Man Bashir," "Yesterday's Enterprise," "Ensign Ro," the entire seventh season arc of Ds9.
Book: The last few chapters of Q-in-Law are hilarious.
"She's really beating the stuffing out of him," observed Riker. "What should we do?"
"Sell tickets," rumbled Worf.
I also love the New Frontier books, especially the Captain's Table Calhoun novel and the Excalibur book.
And the Ds9 relaunch novels are wonderful.
Couple:
TNG: Troi and Riker.
Ds9: Kira and Odo, Worf and Jadzia.
Voyager: Don't really have one. I thought the whole "let's hook Seven up with Chakotay" thing was completely unexpected and completely unwelcome. And they really could have done a better job with building up Torres' and Paris' romance. (*Shudders at thought of Voyager Pon Farr episode.*) And I didn't like Neelix and Kes, either. So Voyager was just not the ship for 'shipping.
New Frontier: Calhoun and Shelby. Or Zak and his goldfish. :-)

Given that Enterprise was just canceled today, I figured it warranted this thread being resuscitated.
What does everyone think?
I gave up on Enterprise after the second season, being wholly disappointed with the lack of regard for continuity and canon, lack of patience with the Temporal War storyline, and lack of character development outside the main trio. So I'm not sad it's canceled. But I am sad that Trek is off the air. In my opinion, though, Star Trek on TV began a downward spiral after Ds9 went off the air (Voyager wasn't that great, mostly due to continuity and character problems) and Enterprise just never got my interest. Over on the TrekBBS boards, though, people seem sad about its cancellation. Anyone here have anything to say?

February 3rd, 2005, 2:23 am
I liked the "idea" of Enterprise but to be honest, it seemed pretty dull compared to the rest of the series. It seemed to try so hard at being worthy of the name Star Trek in that it always had to be a Trek-like show or the fans wouldn't like it. I was really hoping for a new, edgier show but I lost interest this last season as it seemed to fall back on the tired old Trek formulaic way of story telling. Shame really. I was hoping they could have has a series based on Star Fleet Accademy but I guess that ship has sailed.
Nothing new to the table = boring show! IMO!
That is why Battlestar Galactica is kicking butt right now and for me, is the new KING OF SCI-FI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was a fan of all the series up until Enterprise. I tried to like it, but I think they deviated too far from the things that made the other series' great and yet brought little that was new and interesting to the table. It didn't help that the cast never gelled with me.
In some ways, I am glad to hear it's been cancelled, because the franchise has been stretched so thin that the world needs a break from it. It's not great that it only lasted 4 seasons though... bad ratings might hinder a future incarnation.

I just couldn't get hooked on Enterprise, in fact I have only watched one this season (just to see Data as Dr. Seung)but even then couldn't make it through his 3 shows... ack I hate Captain archer, and since when do Vulcans use collagen?
What's your favorite...
TNG/Voyager
Captain? Picard
Ship? 1701-D or Voyager
Movie? The Voyage Home or First Contact
Book? don't read the stuff
Character? Picard, Seven, Spock, and Dax
Villain? Q, although, after we first met him he became comic relief
Alien?Klingon, Minus those sisters- Ursa and Bator?
Planet visited? thats a hard one... but I will go with Risa the vacation planet
Weapon? Bat'leth, duh
Episode? don't know the title... TNG dialogue went- his arms open wide, Shaka when the walls fell
Couple? I don't know that it counts but you know that TnG episode where Picard has to train the supersexy alien (vomka Jansen) to learn the wedding ritual? I loved that. If we are meant to go with the regulars then I will say Seven and Chakotay, unexpected and a little funny
Battle? Anytime we see Borg,

I've had to manufacture interest in the show, but it's awfully difficult when all the hard edges have been rounded off of the Star Trek Universe. There's nothing new, and there's no grit.
I never did like Archer. I loved T'Pol and Tucker, but Archer was just bland. They tried too hard with his character.
I'm not surprised that the show is has been canceled. Perhaps they'll rethink their purpose, and maybe even get new writers. The need some fresh blood.
