I was browsing the "Favorite Chapter" thread, and I started thinking - some of the chapter names are really cool and interesting. Which one is your favorite?
I particularly like "The Boy Who Lived" (PS/SS); "Snape's Worst Memory" (OotP); and my favorite - "The Only One He Ever Feared" (OotP).
Mods, feel free to merge if there is another thread like this.

Yes, well, most of the other threads aren't about the titles; they're about things that happen in the chapter. Anywho, I think my favorite titles would be "Dudley Demented" (OotP); "Cat, Rat, and Dog" (POA); "Beyond the Veil" (OotP); "Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs" (POA); and "The Only One He Ever Feared" (OotP)
EDIT: Thanks, SiriusLives1621, I knew there was one from POA I was forgetting that talked about the Marauders! That's it!

The only one he ever feared was a good chapter and i also think the lost prophesey i will have to go back and read over the chapters to find the other good ones. The chapters where harry finds out about sirius and the murauders map.

My favourite title would be 'Beyond the Veil'. No, I'm not being sadistic- I just think it's beautiful, mysterious and dramatic :) That chapter title just gives me the shivers.

My favorite chapter title is a tie between "The Only One He Ever Feared" and "Beyond the Veil". In chosing these two titles, I'm thinking back to the reactions I had before reading each of these titles. I had the same reaction as loony4moony did to the "Beyond the Veil" chapter. I remember wondering what was going to happen next. With "The Only One He Ever Feared", I knew we were going to see the appearance of Dumbledore.

My favourite chapter titles are 'Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot & Prongs', 'Dudley Demented' and 'Priori Incatatem' for various reasons. MWPP is my favourite though, simply because The Marauder's and everything about them fascinate me.

My favorite chapter titles would have to be "beyond the veil" (it's just so mysterious), "The Only One He Ever Feared" (it gives me chills. It's so cool!), and "The Yule Ball", but I might just be saying that one because I like the chapter so much! :D

Flesh Blood and Bone from Goblet of Fire.
I is my favourite title and chapter throughout the whole Harry Potter series as it captures everything that happens in the chapter and everything Voldemort wants to be again!

Have to go with Dudley Demented as well. It kind of sums it all up and I love when something has two (or more) meanings!

Sorcerer's Stone:
"Diagon Alley" - Because I only realized 2 weeks ago what the name really meant...
Chamber of Secrets:
"The Burrow" - I just like the sound of it.
Prizoner of Azkaban:
"Grim Defeat" - I liked the American chapter image, the doggie is so cute.
"Hermione's Secret" - I wanted to skip to this chapter soo bad when I first read the book, I kept thinking "What!?! Hermione's got a secret, IMPOSSIBLE!"
Goblet of Fire:
"Weasley's Wizard Wheezes" - This can't be good. It'll definitly be Gred and Forge...
"The Dark Mark" - Oooooohhhhh. >grin<
"Mayhem at the Ministry" - I was thinking, "about time they get some sh*t."
"Flesh, Blood, and Bone" - The name says it all.
"Priori Incantatem" - Cool chapter. Looks like a genie...
"Veritaserum" - The name sounded cool. The information given was even better.
Order of the Phoenix:
"The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black" - Just sounded historical.
"Dumbledore's Army" - Uh oh. Not good for dumbly-dore...
"The Centuar and The Sneak" - Great, the big white thing with hooves is back...
"The Only One Her Ever Feared" - Dumbledore, the name that sparks fear in everyone. Even Fudge...
Half Blood Prince:
"Chapter One"

my favorite would have to be "the only one he ever feared" in OotP, like so many of you, but some others are Owl Post Again, Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, Priori Incantatem, Veritaserum, and The Egg and the Eye, i think a lot of those are from GoF, but not Owl Post Again...i could list others, but that might get to listing all the chapter titiles becuase i love them all :)

Tha very last chapter title so far absolutely sends chills up my spine: The Second War Begins. It sounds so ominous and it just leaves you with the feeling that they are on the threshold of something vast and terrifying.
I also like Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs because it is such a bittersweet reminder of the Marauders.

'Beyond the Veil', 'The Bettle at Bay', and Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs.' Before you have read them you look at the title and it's like ***?! lol!

Here are my favourites from each book.
PS - The Man with Two Faces - nice double-meaning there of course.
CoS - The Very Secret Diary - very mysterious sounding and you know you are going to learn a lot from that chapter as soon as you see the name.
PoA - The Marauder's Map - just sounds mischievous even before you know it is.
GoF - Padfoot Returns - loved it since I like many others was already missing Sirius by this point.
OotP - Snape's Worst Memory - hands down, as soon as I saw that title I thought this is going to be a good chapter.

My all time favorite is 'Snape's Worst Memory' I love that chapter, to me I think it is the best. But their are so many others that are really great, that if I tried to post them, I'd be posting about every chapter in all five of the books that she has in the series currently. :P

My favourite is 'The Only One He Ever Feared'. I think it's cool how the fight goes on. I think that the fact the Voldemort actually fears someone is cool.

I rarely note the titles while I'm reading. I guess because I'm reading so fast to see what happens. (I'm determined to slow down on HP and the half-blood prince) The only one I remember noting before reading was "Snape's Worst Memory". And then I read all the faster to see what it was!
I also have a special place for "The Boy Who Lived" - Like jstanothaname35 stated above, you've got to love the one that started it all.

The Beginning from GoF is a really good title, I think. It's simple and perfectly describes this new turning point in Harry's life.
The Only One He Ever Feared is good too. Before I read OotP and was looking at the chapter titles, I knew this one was directly involved with Dumbledore and Voldemort. I knew this would be the chapter where we truly discover why Dumbledore is so intimidating to Voldemort.

I like The Second War Begins and Priori Incantatem . Idon't know why, I just liked them. I like all the titles, but I like how Owl Post and Owl Post Again were the first and last chapters of PoA. When I looked at them before I read the book I was kind of confused.

I think another reason "The Only One He Ever Feared" is such a striking title is that you immediately know, without even having to think, who "He" is. Plus, like SiriusBlack22 pointed out, the fact that the Dark Lord fears anyone makes that person truly awe-inspiring. Not that Dumbledore needs any help in that department, of course. ^^

Totally true. That's probably my favorite as well. Close runners-up would be "The Boy who Lived" and "Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs" for similar reasons. They have a greater significance than just the one chapter they describe, and they're kind of awe-inspiring for that expanse.

"The Only One He Ever Feared" is a great chapter title, it just sounds cool.
"Priori Incantatem" is the most fun to say.
"Owl Post"/"Owl Post Again" was a clever way to open/close PoA.
And...ah dang, most of the chapter titles are pretty good

Definitely "The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black".
By the way...I did not like the title "The Only One He Ever Feared"...to me it sounds so, well, I don't know...I just don't think it's a good title. It wasn't a good fight either. Please don't curse me. :scared:

I was bored and was about to start a thread like this...Fortunately, I searched!
My most favorite title:
"Beyond the Veil" ---so mysterious, poetic, and sad
followed by:
"The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black" --- bitterly funny; I tend to hear the title alternatively from Sirius's and Kreacher's points of view
"Snape's Worst Memory" --- I love the chapter so much, I gonna love its title
"The Unforgivable Curses" --- giving me chills!
"Flesh, Blood, and Bone" ---even more chills!
"Priori Incantatem" --- gonna love the sound of it.
"Grim Defeat" ---so clever, both symbolic and literal
"Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs"
"The Boy Who Lived"---and this is how it all began.
"The Potions Master"
"The Mirror of Erised"
these are some that I also really like
"Dudley Demented" --- who doesn't want to see that? and gonna love the alliteration
"The Order of the Phoenix" --- of course!
"Dumbledore's Army"
"The Only One He Ever Feared"
"The Riddle House"
"Weasley's Wizard Wheezes"
"The Dark Mark"
"The Goblet of Fire"
"Padfoot Returns" ---the moment I've been anticipating!
"The Pensieve"
"Veritaserum"
"The Parting of the Ways"
"The Marauder's Map"
"The Patronus"
"Cat, Rat, and Dog"
"The Dementor's Kiss"
"The Very Secret Diary"
"The Chamber of Secrets"

I personally like "Detention with Dolores", not because of what happens in the chapter but because of the play on the meaning of the words (dolores mean pains in Spanish) and it fits perfectly, and with a double meaning, with what eventually happens in that chapter. But I also like "Seen and Unforeseen" very much along with "The Only One He Ever Feared" and "Flesh, Blood and Bones".
