I'm not really knowledgable about this particular comic book but if it looks good I'll go see it - hell if it looks bad I'll probably still go see it for the Jessica Alba eye candy :p

Poo...
I thought Ray Liotta got the nod for Doc Doom...
Strangely enough, this movie will be judged more for its villain. For this movie to be something of a success, the villain will have to steal the show. (Much like Nicholson stole the first Batman movie). Dr. Doom was a passionate, arrogant (somewhat justified), charismatic as well as an evil s-o-b. But by the same token, when he was on "your" side, you wanted to cheer because he rarely lost a fight (for example, when he fought the Red Skull.) His genius intellect was checked only by Reed Richards. (For the most part.)

I'm not really big on these comic book remake movies, but I really enjoy Ioan Gruffud, so we'll see. He's already said that he wants his costume to have built in muscles because he's can't be bothered to work out for the role, and that made me laugh.

USA Today has published this first picture of Jessica Alba as Sue Storm online, plus we've added five additional scans of the characters shown in today's newspaper, from 20th Century Fox's anticipated Fantastic Four adaptation. Here's how they describe the four members:
• Jessica Alba, 23, star of TV's Dark Angel, is Sue Storm, also known as the Invisible Woman, who has a romance with Reed.
• Welshman Ioan Gruffudd, 30, goes from Lancelot in King Arthur to scientist Reed Richards, whose Mr. Fantastic has the ability to stretch.
• Chris Evans, 23, currently seen in Cellular, is Sue's bro Johnny, a cocky pilot who turns up the heat as the Human Torch.
• The most recognizable face is also the most covered. Veteran actor Michael Chiklis, 41, of TV's The Shield, will grumble his way through the role of Ben Grimm, aka the Thing, a boulder-bodied mound of power whose battle cry is "It's clobberin' time!"

I use to love the fantastic four, why with the stretchy plastic abilities and Thing smashing everything about, it has been so long that I can barely remember it. I'll probably watch the film just for the nostalgic feel and such.

You got to post it first Adi! :D
I am honestly looking forward to the movie. Jessica Alba's show Dark Angel was unjustfully cancled, so seeing her kick butt again(Or in this case, not really seeing) will be cool.
I don't know anything about the Fantastic Four other then that chartoon from the 60's was really cheesy.
I hope the movie's cool!

Lol go me! :D I don't know a lot about them. But they do have cool powers:
Invisible Woman - Pretty self explanitory. Can turn invisible and create invisible forcefields/shields.
Mr. Fantastic - Can stretch his body.
Human Torch - Has the ability to turn his body into fire. Therefore allowing him to fly, and fire fire.
The Thing - Rock like appearance. Super strength.

Julian McMahon is really Dr. Doom!!! I hope you are right!!! I can deal with Ray Liotta taking it though if that is the case I like him too, he's getting on the older chunky looking side when I last saw him in a movie, unless he put on that weight for that role. I'm not sure...As for the rest of the cast it seems pretty decent I'll decide when i see the movie. But I'd love to see Julian McMahon (spelling?) in it!

Exclusive New Fantastic Four Image!!
Source: 20th Century Fox December 9, 2004
Superhero Hype! has an exclusive look at a new image from 20th Century Fox's anticipated Fantastic Four adaptation, hitting theaters on July 1st. The film, directed by Tim Story, is produced by Chris Columbus, Bernd Eichinger, Avi Arad, and Ralph Winter. Stan Lee is the executive producer.
Marvel's first family of comic superheroes takes the world by storm as the longest running comic book series in history comes to the big screen. Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic, who can elongate his body; Susan Storm / Invisible Woman, who not only can become invisible at will but can render other objects invisible; Johnny Storm / Human Torch, who can shoot fire from his finger tips and bend flame; and Ben Grimm / The Thing, a hideously misshapen monster with superhuman strength, together battle the evil Doctor Doom (Julian McMahon).
Pictured from left to right are Chris Evans (as The Human Torch), Michael Chiklis (The Thing), Jessica Alba (The Invisible Woman) and Ioan Gruffudd (Mr. Fantastic).

I'm not sure I like the casting...especially not Jessica Alba and Chris Evans. They just don't look like Sue and Johnny.
But I will go and see the movie, in fact; I'm looking forward to it =)

Ah, the Fantastic Four. I remember watching the cartoon as a kid. I hope this movie lives up to the memories. Because I've been burned too many times by comic book remakes lately. This and Batman Begins are the only ones that interest me anymore.

I don't know much about the comic books, but I'm looking forward to the film. I'm especially looking forward to seeing Ioan Gruffudd! He's really talented, he deserves the roles he's getting recently like Mr Fantastic & Lancelot in King Arthur

I just saw the trailer and I couldnt get a clear look of Dr. Doom, the actor playing him I think will do fine but Im not sure Ill be able to stand his costume. I think they did a good job with the human torche

I think Julian McMahon will do a fine job as Dr. Doom. For those of you who aren't familiar with his work, he stars in Nip/Tuck, he played Phoebe's demonic love interest on Charmed, and was John Grant on the old show Profiler. In Charmed, his character was shifty, malicious and downright frightening at times. He seems like a born villain.
The only actor I really question is Jessica Alba. I'm not really a fan of her work.

The trailer looks awesome! That movie's going to be huge! Bigger than Spider-man? Maybe not, but it will probably do as well as the first X-men movie at least. It might reach X-2 cash rank in.

I think the movie will do great since it will be opening July 4th! I have heard nothing but complaints from people about the trailer. Of course they seem to be the die hard F4 comic book fans who only wnat the best and will stop at nothing to nit pick about everything.
I for one am very excited about this movie as I am a HUGE Ioan Gruffudd fan! He makes a perfect Mr. Fantastic in my books! I have never read the comic so I will be pleasantly surprised!

they also might have seen the horrible unreleased fantastic 4 from the early 90s and are just praying that its not going to be as bad. I know I am.

I read a lot of comic books, but not often Fantastic Four. I hope it preserves the "family" nature of the books. It's more of a story about a family that happens to have superpowers than anything else. I am very excited to see this, as I love Marvel comics! Hopefully it will be more along the lines of Spider-Man and less along the lines of Daredevil).

**Cough** InvisibleJessicaAlba **Cough**
As I have a certain weakness of superheros and Ioan , yes I will be going to see this. I don't know an awful lot about the Fantastic Four but I think for the most part the cast is fairly decent. I'm not quite sure how well Julian McMahon will be as the villan though.....
Must check out the trailer now :)
edit: Plenty of Eye candy....I'll be there :)

Im dreading this cause Hollywood is destorying comic books like:
The Hulk (worse film ever!)
Batman and Robin (such a let down!)
Electra (avoid like mad!)
The Punisher (waste of time!)
But then again these are the best!
Spiderman (Toby Maguire, nuff said!)
Batman (The Tim Burton version!)
X - Men (I liked!)
I watched the trailer for Fantasic Four and Im not going to see it, I have a feeling I'll be let down!

The International Fantastic Four Teaser!
Source: Roraz February 16, 2005
We've talked about it and now we can give you a first online look at the new international teaser for 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four, hitting theaters on July 8th. 'Roraz' was cool enough to capture the clip from the TV for us and you can watch it here (http://video.craveonline.com/video/comingsoon/?showVideo=463&statsid=26&pid=1)!
Marvel's beloved superhero team comes to the big screen. Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic, who can elongate his body; Susan Storm / Invisible Woman, who not only can become invisible at will but can render other objects invisible; Johnny Storm / Human Torch, who can shoot fire from his finger tips and bend flame; and Ben Grimm / The Thing, a hideously misshapen monster with superhuman strength, together battle the evil Doctor Doom.
Michael Chiklis, Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans, Jessica Alba, and Julian McMahon star in the Tim Story-directed film.
In my opinion this is a much better trailer than the first one. :)
