I had an epiphany (sudden realization) the other night after I watched FARSCAPE - The Peacekeeper Wars. The plotline behind Farscape is the story of the Wizard of Oz. I don't want to say more, in case I influence anyone. We can use this thread to talk about Farscape and whether or which ways it resembles The Wizard of Oz.

What is this doing in the Common room?
Farscape is much more science fiction, I think, but the storyline seems similar. That is happening a lot now though.
For instance, the Villiage had a very similar storyline to the book Running out of Time. (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=3r0s7XHAO2&isbn=0689812361&itm=1)
Storyline from Barnes and Noble.com-
When a diphtheria epidemic hits her 1840 village, thirteen-year-old Jessie discovers it is actually a 1996 tourist site under unseen observation by heartless scientists, and it's up to Jessie to escape the village and save the lives of the dying children.

Good question. I think this should really be in the Leaky Cauldron.
