Has anybody out there visited the Taize monastery in France? What were some of your most memorable experiences or stories?
I went the week after Pentecost in 2001. I remember being blessed by Frere Roger, having no clue what to do, but it all worked out in the end. Most notably, a friend of mine bought a pad of dandelion stationery. Just a few weeks ago, I came across a note written on that stationery and had a revelation: Christians are like dandelions. We all came to Taize, then scattered our separate ways to do good in the world and plant new seeds of our own. It was so cool, realizing that three years later, the dandelions came back to me in a way totally unexpected, yet totally right.
