Favorite Local Bands Where You Live

I just thought that htere had to be more people out there that went to local shows and new some local bands. So here we can discuss and introduce new music and new bands to each other and help our local buddies out.

I live in a small city, we don't really have a local music sceen.

Totally! Some guys from my school started a band called Gadtrat (it stands for Girls Are Dumb Throw Rocks At Them, but I like to translate it as guys are dumb... :) ). I don't think I'm exaggerating at all when I say they will probably be famous one day. They are really good. You heard it here! I know the guys in Gadtrat! There. Now when they're famous people will believe me when I say I know them.

Well, I would say my own band but since we just started up and we don't technically have a singer yet I guess we don't really count.

I haven't been to see any local bands in a while. But, I used to really like a band called Lockey.
I used to always go to an all ages local bands club, called The White Rabbit. That place was so great.

Theres a Leeds band called Kaiser Chiefs.. they are amazing! Downloadable of Kazaa (Not that i'd condone that!) they have an album coming out in March i think called Employment. Sounds great.

Well i live in Canberra, Aus and i'm not a particularly big fans of the bands Canberra has produced so far. However there are some Australian bands non-Australains may or may not have heard of yet that i think are definatly worth mentioning. First there is Wolfmother (http://www.wolfmother.com) , a three piece band from Sydney who i'm loving at the moment. They only have a self-titled EP out at the moment but some time this year their album should be coming out. Other good Aussie bands include Xavier Rudd (http://www.xavierrudd.com) , The Panics (http://www.thepanics.com.au) , The Red Sun Bans (http://www.theredsunband.com) , Architecture in Helsinki (http://www.architectureinhelsinki.com), Dallas Crane (http://www.dallascrane.com) and End of Fashion (http://www.endoffashion.com) . Just to mention a few...:) I don't know how well know any of these guys are overseas, so if you haven't heard of them yet - enjoy!

Edit: oh and (Love Outside) Andromeda are also good (can't find a half-way decent website for them though)
