Previously posted as 'The Red Rose', here shall gather all of my HP-related poems.
Don't worry, it's unlikely I'll ever do a triple post again!

The Red Rose

The red rose grew
In garden of black,
Stood there proudly,
Stern face, straight back.
They tried to dispose
Of it like a weed,
But this young red rose
Would follow no lead.
Red for anger,
Red for pride.
Red for fire
That burned inside.
Who could hate
This lovely flower?
Red for love, and
Red for power.
And when he deemed
The time was right,
Red rose escaped
Into the night.
Left for a while
Gardern of black,
Went to where
There was no lack
Of all the things
He loved the most,
Away from fear
Of evil ghost.
He travelled far,
He travelled wide,
And he spent
Some time inside
The gardens where
No-one should ever go.
But he survived,
Which simply goes to show
That lovely as
Red rose may be,
The thorns he had
Could still prick thee.
So he returned,
Eventually,
To garden of black,
No longer free.
And though most of
The weeds from here
Had been destroyed,
There were some to fear.
They used red
Rose's loyalty
To lure him to
The weed called she.
He fought against
What she had done,
But her war
Was already won.
And now he lies
Beyond the veil,
Fought all his life,
To no avail.
Red rose is gone
And now must we
Be brave like him
Or weak like she.

Missing You

I stare at the stars
But I can't see you.
You haven't been in the sky
Since your life was through.
I read the lines on my hand,
But you're not there.
It's not you causing
The creaks on my stair.
Sirius,
Where are you now?
Where's the man
I loved somehow?
My godfather,
I hardly knew you.
And now I just don't
Know what to do.
Mum and dad used to
Be missing you.
Now it's me that's
Missing you.
I'll always be
Missing you.
Until the day
We're together again.

Through these Eyes

Through these eyes of mine,
I watch the world pass by.
Peering through these eyes of green,
Staring at you all the time.
I'm looking out,
Observing you all,
When you rise and
When you fall.
But my eyes aren't like windows,
Transparent from both sides:
From where you are you can see nothing
That I choose to hide.
My eyes are bright green barriers
To cover what I feel,
But sometimes when you steal a glance
You may see something real.
You see I can't keep these walls
Barring your sight always,
Sometimes I just let it go,
The wall comes down, the misery stays.
But maybe I'm not
The only one to do this thing-
Maybe everyone hides their thoughts
Behind the walls that eyes bring.
So next time when I
Look at you
I know what I'm
Going to do-
What I see,
I might not buy,
Nor trust all I see
Through these eyes.

Home

It's not the moving staircases
Or the high ceilings.
It's not the grandeur of the rooms
That gives me these feelings.
It's not the way
The portraits talk,
Or the corridors
I often walk.
It's not the passwords,
Hidden rooms,
Nor the sights of
Soaring brooms.
It's not the food,
Which fills me up,
Or the pumpkin juice
In my silver cup.
It's not the lessons
That I am taught,
Or the ghosts,
Holding fort.
It's the way friends treat me
When my mood is fey,
They always know
When to stay,
Or when it's best
To leave me alone:
It's the people of Hogwarts
That make it my home.

Luna-tic

They think
I'm mad.
They make
Me sad.

They call
Me names.
On me,
Play games.

They hide
My things-
The woe
This brings.

They laugh
At me,
Think I
Can't see.

But I'm
Always
Watching
Their ways.

Listen
Through walls,
Childish
Cat-calls.

I know
What they
About
Me say.

But there's
Much more
I am
Here for.

'Cause they
Can't see
Don't mean
Ain't me.

They think
I'm thick-
Call me
Luna-tic.

I don't
Care 'bout
What they
Say now.

In not
Too long,
I'll prove
Them wrong.
