View Full Version : Charmed - Anyone watch it?
TheShadow
February 15th, 2003, 10:28 am
Just wodnered if anyone watches "Charmed". It's a program about 3 witches. I watched a few of the first series which had Prue in but then she died and Paige came in in the second series and I've been watching those.
Questions:
1. Who is your favourite out of Prue, Piper, Pheobe and Paige?
2. Which power would you like to have out of them all?
My Answers:
1. My favourite is probably Piper because she is cool!
2. I'd prefer to have Paige's power to summon things.

I've been known to watch Charmed occasionally:p .
My favourite would have to be Phoebe. I used to like Piper more but since Prue died she has become too serious.
I would probably like Piper's power-to freeze time.
TheShadow

I would have never guessed that you watch Charmed. lol  Yeah Piper has become more kind of bossy now Prue died. And yeah Piper's power is cool to freeze time.

I love charmed! Did you see last weeks?
I love Piper...and Leo.
I would like to have Paiges powers too. Summon things..just like hp. And so's Piper's.
I can't wait till tomorrow!

I like it, though the script is sometimes not very good. I like Paige because she seems more "happy". And her power is good, it's like telekinesis (I'm still hoping I'm a mutant).
But the best of them all is Cole

Well I did see last weeks, but I'm in England so it might have been different, unless your in England? It's on in 40 minutes here! I'm so excited. I think it's the last or second to last episode of season 2.

I love Charmed ! It's one of my favorite shows. Tizzy, are you talking about the one where Piper has the baby? That episode was so awesome! Piper is my favorite and I would love to have her power. Although Paige's is pretty cool too.
Oh and Yadiami, I agree about Cole

I used to watch Charmed every week for along time, but just this season, I stopped watching it. I think I saw the very first episode, but thats about it. But I still think its a great show.
My favorite sister is probably Phoebe, because she can be very funny. Also Paige, because she's usually the happy-go-lucky one!

Well, I'm a Charmed fan, but not that loyal fanatic fan. The thing is, here in my country we're left hanging at the season where Prue is supposed to die but not quite yet, and Piper is actually dead from a gunshot wound, and Phoebe was down in Hell with Cole and Leo (Paige hasn't even had screentime yet!). So I'm waiting patiently for the next season where we would be introduced to Paige, for the first time :D

Hmm, I can't give you an exact number, but I'd guess about 30 or so. Cole (Julian McMahon) appeared in the beginning of the third season and were now on the fifth going into the sixth. At least here in the states.

I watch it from time to time. It's not on my regular Tv Series to watch list. Though I think it's okay. In fact, I saw this week's.
1. Who is your favourite out of Prue, Piper, Pheobe and Paige?
I think I'll go with Piper. She's cool, as for the others, I guess it's their personalities that bug me, a bit.
2. Which power would you like to have out of them all?
I would to have them all :p
But I'll guess I have Piper's as well, being able to freeze time, blowing things up and right now, invincible would be pretty cool.

Okay, who wants to venture a guess on what the baby's name is! My husband is convinced it's going to begin with a P. Although he did come up with idea of them using the name Warren (as is Melinda Warren, they're ancestor). I think that's a viable option.

Hey another Charmed fan. I watched all the episodes right up to season five. They're not airing season five here yet, so I have to rely on downloads, but I still have to do that. How is season five, because though I liked the series i found that it lost some of it's originality along the way when a certain character left. Also the story line was sometimes a little over.
Maybe it is just me, but I get bored when a series goes on to long only because it makes a big succes.

TheShadow
April 28th, 2003, 4:01 pm
Yeah I'm annoyed. Supposedly, Shannon Doherty - who plays Prue - got fired for arguing with one of the head people so that's why they had to make her die. It's just a rumour though.

I heard she just desided to leave because her and the pthers kept fighting. and to do her new show "Scare Tactics.

April 28th, 2003, 9:46 pm
Shannen leaving is one of those situations where each side tells a different story, you know. I've heard both that she's gotten fired and that she quit. The only thing that's strange is she directed the last episode she appeared in ( I could be wrong I'm working from memory here). Why would they let her direct an episode, the fire her a few months later? Unless things between her and the powers that be escaladed.
Personally, I didn't mind Prue dying. I never really liked her character anyway.
pasalita
April 29th, 2003, 3:49 am
I have to admit that I'm slowly getting sucked into the show. About Prue dying: I think that one of the cool things about this show is that even though she "died," she can come back like the mother and grandmother. So, if the fact about Shannon Doherty filming the last episode she was in is true, I suspect that maybe she just wanted to move forward in life or her career, but didn't really want her character to disappear completely. After all, she can always make a cameo appearance if she really wanted to (though, this is dependent on, again, the facts of her leaving the show.)
But, in any case, I like the tone of the show now, what with Wyatt and all. That baby is too adorable!

harrypottergirl333, you know, I'm not sure, but I think that he is dead. There was a snippet in this week's TV Guide about Brian Krause's days on Charmed being numbered, but when asked, the studio replied "No comment". It makes me extremely  , but it could be could for the show, as far as storylines go. What's driving me insane is this Chris guy. Who is he really? Where is he from really? Why is he there? The baby definately doesn't trust him, and I'd bet the baby's feeling are right on. Unforunately, we won't know until the new season starts around September.:grumble:

What if Chris isn't the furure guy real name? What if it's White?? That would sort of make sense, because you know how a little boy who never aw his dad would be. He'd love his momy even more, and hate to see her sad about him 'leaving' them. Wouldn't that cuse a bit of anger?
dobbygirl
May 16th, 2003, 4:33 am
harrypottergirl333,
I've definately thought about Chris really being Wyatt. I mean he can orb (Leo's power), he can blow things up (Piper's power), plus he closed the door without touching it (Prue's power). Not only that, let's face it, he's awfully young to be a whitelighter and didn't he mention something about there being no elders in the future, so then how did he become one? He would've had to have been born one. If he is this person, he has some major explaining to do. Somewhere in his life, he was corrupted.
i wish i knew
May 17th, 2003, 11:40 pm
And since he was named after his dad, and he hated hius dad, that would explain him changing his name for real
dobbygirl
May 19th, 2003, 9:02 pm
You have a point HPgirl333. But this is what I don't understand. If he really did come back to change the future, to prevent the death of all the elders, then why didn't he do more to prevent Leo from becoming one and leaving him. If he was that upset about not having his father around, wouldn't he do something to prevent it?
Chris is definately not telling them the whole story, that's for sure.

Because that's not why he came back. He came back to make sure Leo became an elder again......wait...in the future leo was an elder too right? Cause if he never left in the future....then Chris wouldn't have a reson to be mad at Leo.....anyway let's say that Chris is really White....then he'd have to mae sure le became an elder in this time zone, too. Becuase only a dark lghter can kill a white lighter, but all deomns and witches and w/e can kill elders. And my guess is that Chis only came back to becom the Charmed one's white lighter, and he needed leo out of the picture to do that, whether he really i chris or White.

For those of you who have seen the series finale please give me some input...
When Leo orbed up at the end of the show "Chris" made the motion that Piper makes when she blows things up, and there was a different kind of flash. I don't know I think that Leo got blowen up??? (I hope not)
dobbygirl
May 29th, 2003, 3:46 am
To answer your question tomluva9, this is my take on what happened. There's pretty much agreement that Leo got blown up. Whether that was permanent thing and he is now dead, is still up in the air. Piper could, and has, "blown" Leo up in the past and not killed him.
Chris is not all that he's telling. See some of the earlier posts between myself and harrypottergirl333 for more discussion.

ok, so he might not be dead? (sigh) ok just have to wait and see!

May 30th, 2003, 2:47 am
Yeah, Piper has blown him up before, but he was whitelighter than, and only a dark lighter can kill a white lighter. But elders, they can be kiled by any demonic or realy any super natural power I'm guessing, since that one died in that episdoe with that 13 year old boy drawing the super powers for the charmed aones and that demon. And all those god people killed elders too. Maybe it takes really strong power to kill them.

I was watching TNT (a cable station in the US) tonight and they had a commercial for the episode they were going to air tonight. It's the one where their grandma comes down to bless the new baby, only she doesn't know that the baby is a boy, not a girl. She tells Piper that this isn't the baby she was supposed to have. Do you think that there might actually be anything to it? Later in the show, she does change her mind, but still, it makes you think. Especially after what happens in the last show of the season.
HUGE NEWS: I just found this on a Charmed web-site.
We originally reported this news a long time ago, but it has now been officially announced by The WB. This fall, Drew Fuller will be joining the cast of Charmed, this was confirmed with a short trailer including him that aired after Black Sash. So there you have it, a new cast member, it's been a while! Welcome to the cast Drew!

Just watched the season final of Charmed last night and I was a bit concerned at the end. But I have found a couple of articles saying that brian krause will be returning. Also I found a report about what exactly happened at the end of the episode-Chris is sitting on the front steps outside the manor, waiting. Leo orbs in wearing his Elder's robe with hood down. After they exchange greetings, Chris asks what the Elders decide about him. Leo tells his that he's been the topic of a debate and one thing they agreed on was that he can't return to the future. Chris: "I figured as much. The time line's changed. I don't know what I'd go back to. So, what'd They decide?" Leo announces that the Elders voted to make him the Charmed Ones' new Whitelighter. Chris feigns surprise. Leo tells him its reward for helping to defeat the Titans but somehow Leo believes he expected that. Leo steps closer to Chris, studying him, "You know, I can't stop thinking about what Piper said. I can't help but wonder if this wasn't your plan all along." Chris: "Hey, I'm good, but I'm not that good." Leo tells him to take good care of the sisters and that he'll be watching over him as well. Chris: "Maybe not." Leo looks at him confused and after a quick beat, Chris glances around making sure no one's around and waves his hand -- to make Leo's body collapse into a flat plane. The plane is a two-dimensional prison, that disappears with a flash. Chris smiles to himself, straightens his clothes and opens the front door and steps inside. When he clears the door frame, he waves his hand to telekinetically shut the door. This leaves us all wondering who's this new stranger and what in heaven or hell he is up to and...where did he send Leo

can anyone tell me how the freezing time thing actually works...cos i never really understood it....as in....someone in one room can be frozen but do they freeze the entire world or just that room? and if they freeze just those people then won't there be a discrepancy in time or what? ok...i'm thinking way too much into this i know but it always really bugs me! :)

I love Charmed! I've been watching it for..2-3 years now? Who knows.. It is one of my favorites, if not at the top. Anyway--
1. Who is your favourite out of Prue, Piper, Pheobe and Paige?
I have to say Piper. No specific reason why. I think I just admire that actress, hehe.
2. Which power would you like to have out of them all?
Paige's power. To me, it would be very useful. I could get around faster and get things to me faster. Yes, definitely Paige's power.

Lol, I watch Charmed almost every day except on Saturday. Here in the US, they show it on TNT Monday-Friday, and on the WB on Sunday.
Anywho, my favorite sister would have to be Piper. I can relate to her more than anyone else... Her sarcastic humor and quick remarks sound like me sometimes. Phoebe is my least favorite sister... For different reasons I shouldn't say. It would offend Phoebe fans.
My favorite powers are telekinesis and orbbing, and Piper's freezing power is really cool too.

I watch the show as much as I can. It's just that it plays at the same time in canada as the Simpsons and American Dreams and so on. anyhoo, i can't remember if i already posted her so i'll just post again. my favourite character is Leo. piper's got the coolest powers, then Paige. ^^Werewolf_eyes, they vanquished Cole about half way through the 5th season. And I read on a Charmed website that Leo is alive, but I'm not quite sure if he's all that well. :scared: The website AboutCharmed.com has an interview with Drew Fuller (Chris the Whitelighter) about the first episode of the new season. Kinda into the season since the last time anyone posted about Charmed, but my sister came up with an interesting theory about Chris, mysterious guy from somewhere in the future- she think he might be Wyatt as an adult.

In the States, I think we're in the 6th season. ALOT has happened since that episode, I think. So I'll try not to spoil it for you :) but if you want to read about what's going on:
This guy chris came from the future, and made some stuff happen. Now leo is an elder and chris is the Haliwell's white lighter. Piper and Leo had to get a divorce, since elders can't be married. Except he's up to something shady, but they haven't let us on to what it is yet. Wyatt (piper and leo's son) is already very magical, he is already able to orb toys he wants and conjured a dragon, also he was scaring away piper's dates by making his eyes glow. Wyatt is going to grow up to be the most powerful wizard ever, and the last episode we found out he's the heir to become the king of the magical world. or something like that.

Well, looks like the time line is all out of whack. I've only been sucked into the show recently (and, thanks to TNT, I'm catching up), but as Hufflepuffy pointed out, that future was a different future (i.e. it included a Prue that was living.)
Hence, this is probably a different timeline because, according to Gideon, an elder apparently trying to get rid of Wyatt (and now, I suspect, to bring the timeline back to normal), Piper's baby was a boy (Wyatt) and, in the new episode that aired Sunday, during her last night with Leo, they conceived Chris, who has been the Charmed One's whitelighter since Leo became an elder.
This made sense to me in that now I understand why Chris can perform magic (i.e. he's often helped to finish potions and work on spells) but is also a whitelighter.
I'm still wondering what the threat of Wyatt is, other than he has broken the line of female Charmed ones. People from the future (Chris) or that can see the future (Gideon) are trying to either save or kill Wyatt. What is it that they've seen, do you think? Is there a prophecy for him as well (as was with the Prue, Piper and Phoebe in the beginning)?

Since for some reason I can't keep myself from watching Charmed nearly every day, I've got some theories on the whole evil Wyatt thing.
Chris knows that Wyatt is evil in the future, he doesn't need a prophesy or something to know this, because he's seen it.
As for Gideon thinking he's evil, I don't really think that's what he thinks. I think he is fearful of what such a concentration of power in one place can mean for the magical community, and he wants to get rid of this all powerful being before it's too late. Perhaps Gideon's attempts at getting rid of Wyatt are what end up turning him evil.
Also, when Wyatt was conceived, Piper had eaten some of Cole's evil fertility chocolate that he made Phoebe eat (so she would conceive the heir to the Source). Perhaps this has some negative effect on Wyatt that causes him to become evil (probably not though).
So obviously I watch this show way to much and I need to get a life, but egh yeah...

Ah. But, see: Why does Chris want to protect Wyatt, then, if he knows the boy turns out evil? I mean, I remember in Sunday's episode Chris saying that he came to them to warn the three about something happening to Wyatt, i.e. that by warning them Wyatt was able to be saved in some respect. But, why save someone he knew would grow up to be evil? I suspect I've missed a key episode.
Though, I'm still suspicious of Chris. He's not a whitelighter, right? After all, a whitelighter is already dead, but the Angel of Death came to take Chris away in Sunday's episode. Could he be in cohoots with Gideon?

Chris came back in an attempt to save Wyatt from turning evil. We don't know if he suceeds yet, but that's what he's going for. Wyatt turning evil ruins his family (obviously) so he is trying to stop that from happening.
And Chris isn't really a whitelighter. He is half witch, half whitelighter...just like Paige. He doesn't have the power to heal or anything like that, he just orbs like Paige.
I was suspicious of him earlier, but now I trust him. He is Piper's son, he only has his families interests at heart.

Cole was such a hottie, and the tragedy of Phoebe and Cole still hurts. His very existence was doomed - how does one ever come to terms with that? He fell in love with a witch, enjoyed a life with her, but in order to save her, must take on the Source (as in become filled with the source) and eventually become corrupted by it. I think he's one of the more tragic characters on the show.

Oh good! someone agrees with me!
God, I thought so too. It made the series so much fun to watch. I never really thought so, thinking that I just liked the concept of three witches and enjoying an evening of one hour entertainment (the better of Spellings works). Yes, his character was too tragic. I know there's suppose to be a lesson there--that you cant be evil, getting your way, etc, but I guess the writers had to write him off.
I dont think any of Phoebe's future loves are ever going to equal the one she had with Cole.

Right - it was almost as though Cole and Phoebe had this epic romance (in which they did). How could Phoebe ever get over that? Despite the evil that consumed him, Cole seems to me to still be her true love. I mean, they both defied the boundaries set for them: As a witch, she wasn't supposed to fall in love with a demon; as a demon, he wasn't supposed to fall in love with a witch. Very Romeo and Juliet, sort of. How can Phoebe be over it when I'm not yet over it?
Ah, well. Perhaps in another lifetime....
And, you know, I'm still waiting for the episode where Prue comes back as a ghost. We've seen Grams and their mom. It's about time Prue crosses over.
Did anyone else notice on Sunday's episode that Holly Marie Combs is "showing", i.e. she's clearly pregnant?

Yeah, she's showing a lot now. Sunday was the first time I thought it was really noticeable. I think the next episode she is 4 months pregnant and the one after that 8...they're really rushing things along so that they can accomodate her pregnancy.
Hmm, Cole...I guess they had a great love. By the time they finally vanquished him though he was annoying (at least I thought so). Once he came back from being vanquised as the Source he was just so desperate. I was just glad he went before he lost all his dignity.

This is why I think the writers had to make his character "annoying" and completely useless to Phoebe towards the end. I guess the contract was running out and they needed a fresh start with something else besides the focus on Cole and Phoebe's beyond the boundaries kind of love.
Pasalita, as for Prue coming back as a ghost, well, I thought that Shannon Doherty had a fall out with Spelling again (she did the first time around in 90210 and left the show) and not to mention her dissention with Phoebe too.(Milano) So I suppose if Shannon gets along with them again and goes on bended knee and say sorry--then she'd probably get the part again. Doubt it though. Heard Shannon's pretty stubborn. It's her way or the highway. I dont know anyway since I haven't kept up with that anymore. When I lived with my mum, she had those digest magazines where you can keep up with all the celebrities hot gossip. lol. I dont read that unless I'm bored and its hanging around. I guess first off I should say that I love Charmed and have been watching it since day one. I don't like how the show has become a sister turns into something and wears a trampy outfit every week type of thing but I'm still utterly addicted to the show. And this whole Wyatt/Chris story line is turning out to be really juicy. I'm so upset that Charmed won't be on next week. It means I have to wait 2 whole weeks for a new episode.
Piper is my favorite sister b/c she was the peace-maker and very much in the "mother goddess" vein. I don't like how she became so bossy after Prue died. But I still love her. And I don't like her and Leo not being together. But that's a whole 'nother thing.
And I guess I'd like Paige's power. Orbing and telekinesis are pretty cool. Although blowing things up would come in handy when facing demons.
Since for some reason I can't keep myself from watching Charmed nearly every day, I've got some theories on the whole evil Wyatt thing.

Perhaps Gideon's attempts at getting rid of Wyatt are what end up turning him evil.
I think Gideon might know that Wyatt turns evil in the future. Chris let slip about it to the sisters and Leo and I'm sure Leo would not have withheld that information from the other Elders.
Also, when Wyatt was conceived, Piper had eaten some of Cole's evil fertility chocolate that he made Phoebe eat (so she would conceive the heir to the Source). Perhaps this has some negative effect on Wyatt that causes him to become evil (probably not though).
Yes! I was thinking the same thing. However, I don't know if the dates match up. Piper didn't find out she was pregnant until the very end of that season (4?). How far along was she at that point? B/c I remember the Cole thing happening way before that. I could be mistaken in my memory though.
So obviously I watch this show way to much and I need to get a life, but egh yeah...
You're not the only one. This new plot development with Wyatt/Chris has got me obsessing over Charmed.
Yeah, she's showing a lot now. Sunday was the first time I thought it was really noticeable. I think the next episode she is 4 months pregnant and the one after that 8...they're really rushing things along so that they can accomodate her pregnancy.
It was most noticeable in last week's episode how 'plump' she is now. However, I noticed quite a few weeks ago that they were obviously trying to hide something. Why else would Piper/Holly Marie Combs be wearing that weird parka thingie? We had never seen her wearing it before and now she's wearing it all the time. And no more skimpy outfits for her. That job has fallen to Alyssa Milano double-time now.
As much as I love this little story arc, it's got my brain in such a hurt.
If Chris is successful in doing what he came back to do, wouldn't that change the future timeline? If Wyatt never turns evil, Chris would never have a reason to go back in time and warn the Charmed Ones. Then, if he didn't go back in time to warn them, then the Charmed Ones would never know that Wyatt turns evill and then Chris would go back in time to warn them again. Ay!!!!! It's like a big never-ending circle. This is the bad thing about time travel. It's got me so confused.

I'm so glad this discussion has been re-sparked! Actually, I just caught the re-run episode of Cole getting vanquished for the first time (I cried, BTW) and Phoebe was getting herself drunk during this episode. A few episodes prior, i.e. the episode where Phoebe does find out she's pregnant, Piper and Phoebe had revealed to each other that they both suspected to be pregnant (i.e. Piper thought she was and Phoebe thought she was), but Piper found out she wasn't, whereas Phoebe found out at the end of the episode that she was.
So, I don't think Piper was pregnant during that time since a) she told Phoebe that she was tested and found out that she wasn't pregnant (but disappointed), and b) believing that she wasn't pregnant, she got drunk off her booty for "failing" Phoebe in that Phoebe chose to be the Queen of the source.
But, that's not to say that the evil chocolate didn't have lasting effects on Piper... who knows how magic works. They were still setting the precedents for magical boundaries during that season (I think), so, who knows?

Oooh, you make an excellent point here, Pasalita! I'm thinking too "inside the box" here. I assumed that the effect had to be immediate b/c (1) Piper and Leo got all hot and heavy in that episode after she ate the chocolate and (2) b/c the Seer (Cole's evil advisor) kept stressing how Phoebe had to get pregnant by midnight that day otherwise she wouldn't have the Heir to the Source.
But who's to say that the chocolate's evil didn't wear off right away. I assume that it must eventually wear off b/c Chris turned out good (his intentions are good even if the way he tries to get them done are questionable).
I think they're still setting magical boundaries. It's one of the things that make me like this show so much. Charmed isn't bound by the rules of the real world - anything can happen b/c magic is involved. I like how the show is free to be creative.
Ever since the episode that we find out for sure who Chris is (even though I kind of suspected that all along), I've needed an outlet to discuss Charmed. I am so happy that I found this thread.

Thinking about it now, I don't think the chocolates had anything to do with Wyatt being evil. The time doesn't really work, although it is possible they could have had lasting effects though.
I think it is possible that Wyatt just became consumed by his power, he is supposed to be like the most powerful magical being or something. Grams was convinced in the episode of Wyatt's wiccaning that men can't handle the powers.

Oh Anakin...
I mean, Wyatt. :p
Consumed by the dark side, he will be. But, will he? Here's where all of the time stuff gets me razzled. So, Gideon has admitted that Wyatt should never have been born in the first place, i.e. the conception was foreseen and it should have been stopped. So, clearly, there was a fork in the road somewhere, probably where Piper had to choose between Leo and that other guy (their next door neighbor?) She chose Leo. Thus, the timeline for Wyatt begins.
Chris comes from a future where he knows Wyatt becomes evil. So, he tries to intervene by somehow going back in time to tell the sisters and save Wyatt on more than one occassion. But, Gideon is still trying to kill Wyatt and, at the same time, trying to prevent Leo and Piper from getting back together.
Clearly, Gideon and the Elders have screwed up on both accounts: They didn't stop Leo and Piper from being together the first time (i.e. Wyatt) and they didn't prevent Leo and Piper from being together the second time (i.e. Chris.) So, if the events that lead to the evil Wyatt haven't been changed, as I presume they haven't since everything still leads to the fact that Chris is still alive, which means time runs its course so that Wyatt becomes evil and Chris is there to witness it, won't little Wyatt still be evil in the end?
Perhaps, this is the reason why Whitelighters and the witches the watch over aren't supposed get together - the Elders foresaw, or else live in, a future where Wyatt is evil. So, in order to prevent Leo and Piper from conceiving Wyatt, they make this rule waaaay before Piper is even conceived.
It's up to the sisters now to change the events, but how do they do that knowingly? How do they know that their changes will affect the future in a more positive way?

With the whole time travel thing it gets really confusing.
We know from the early episode when Prue, Piper, and Phoebe went to the future that things are not set in stone. They were able to change their future drastically (Prue is dead, witches aren't burnt at the stake, and Piper has sons). With the changeable nature of the future, Chris risked everything coming back to change it.
I don't know where I'm going with this, maybe it will come to me later...

So, while timelines are set in stone, maybe it isn't necessarily because the future hasn't been set, but it's more like a "choose your adventure" kind of story: In this fictional, Charmed world, maybe several timelines and futures exist, and certain choise and, thus, events lead to them.
Perhaps the death of Prue and the re-uniting of three different sisters spearheads the girls on a different timeline, one that contributes to the demise of Wyatt....

OK, I am going to sound wishy wash now but you have a point as well. It may have nothing to do with the evil chocolate but the fact that too much power corrupts. Right now, all we can do is speculate and I love speculating :D
However, if being that powerful is what corrupted Wyatt, how come Chris didn't turn out the same? Yes, obviously, he's a different person but still, there must have been some temptation, right? You could say that Wyatt is more powerful than Chris b/c he has Excalibur but why choose Wyatt over Chris? All things considered, Chris would have been just as good a candidate for the sword. He has the same witch mother and whitelighter father background.

Don't forget last season's episode where Piper and Leo go to the marriage counselor. Piper casts that spell that enables them to actually relive their memories, but in doing so, they capture a demon, Phoebe, and Paige inside of their memories.
The little figurine from Piper & Leo's wedding cake falls and gets stepped on by the demon. And even though Paige and Phoebe correct whatever it was that happened in the memory (by having Piper relive it), no one notices that the figurine is gone.
I remember reading in an article in which some head honcho of Charmed (producer maybe?) said that changing the past will have consequences for the future no matter how minute they may be. I think he was referring to that episode. But anyways, that little thing did get changed and Wyatt grows up to be evil. I don't see the connection how one could be the cause of the other but the article made it sound really important.
OK, I don't remember where I was going with this now. I guess it's just to say that if you change the past, you change the future.
It was my whole problem with Terminator. Before T3 came out, I didn't understand how they could destroy SkyNet before it turns agains humans without changing the future. If SkyNet gets destroyed, no bad future, no terminator sent back to kill Linda Hamilton's character and John never sends his father back in time and John never gets born and so SkyNet is free to wage war in the future. It's why I actually liked the way T3 ended b/c it preserved the timeline.
Also, back to Charmed. The Elders aren't very good Elders are they? They foresaw Piper & Leo having a special baby but they didn't foresee him turning out bad? The future is constantly changing but they're the Elders! Shouldn't they be all-knowing or something?

Ok, I'm very confused here. In Australia we just saw the episode with the Seance. When do all the revelations about Wyatt occur? And who is Gideon?
Are you talking about the episode where Paige tries to end the feud between the two witch families from season 6? If so, then you will find out in another few episodes about Wyatt and then a few episodes later about Chris. If not, then I'll tell you below. I guess I should be responsible and start posting my messages as spoilers.
In the episode "Chris-Crossed", Chris is forced to return to his future time by an assasin witch (who is his ex-fiancee) b/c the evil ruler (my phrase) wants him back. It turns out this evil ruler is Wyatt. Two episodes later, he lets slip that the great evil he came to the past to rescue Wyatt from is in fact Wyatt himself. He came back to prevent Wyatt from turning evil. As of now, we still don't know why Wyatt became evil.
Later in "The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell," we meet Gideon, an Elder who teaches the next generation of magical kids at magic school (yes, I immediately thought of Harry Potter & Hogwarts). He was one of the Elders who fought for Piper & Leo to be together. In this episode, Phoebe has a vision and figures out that Chris is actually Wyatt's little brother.
In the last new episode that has aired in the US, Chris was finally conceived so it will be interesting to see how they'll deal with 'baby' Chris in utero and big Chris walking around. We also found out that Gideon believes that letting Wyatt be born was a mistake and I guess he's trying to kill Wyatt now.
No new episodes again this week! I'm desperate to know what happens next.

1. Who is your favourite out of Prue, Piper, Pheobe and Paige?
Piper, of course. I simply love her! The power to freeze time? My, my, wouldn't I give everuthing I have to be able to do so. Also, she's very cool girl and most of the time she acts just as I would. Plus she has Leo... and I heart him. ;)
2. Which power would you like to have out of them all?
I think I just answered my question up there. :) Piper's power rocks!
Oh, and, just to tell ya guys. Charmed is showing here since January, so we are still at Season 1. Therefore I have no idea what powers Paige has or if Piper changed since then For now, it's like this.

I'd have to say that my favorite witch is Phoebe. I find her character and plotline very intriguing and complex (not to say that Piper's isn't complex, but I like to lean more towards the "rebellious yet connecting to her heritage" vibe than the "intimidated-by-religion, 'why does it have to be this way'" vibe.)
Of the powers: It's hard to say. I like Prue's powers because they're so in-your-face strong. But, I also like Phobe's powers including her new empathic power (very Deanna Troi  ) for their subtlety and because they involve connecting personally with people/the innocents.

Okay - I'm watching a re-run of Charmed right now, one of the "Cole is Mad Crazy" episodes. But, I can't, for the life of me, hate Cole. I feel sorry for him. He's so tragic! What I hate is that Phoebe only ever seems to remember the bad things he's done to her, things he did after being corrupted by the source, an evil and burden he had to take on to save her and her sisters... Does she not recall the wonderful times they had? She doesn't have to show remorse, but why can't she admit that they had a wonderful relationship once?

I agree with you, Pasalita. Even in the end when Phoebe couldn't stand to look at him, I still loved Cole's character. He fought so hard to love her and prove his love for her and despite all the things that happened to him (like becoming the source of all evil), he still managed to love her. I would imagine that being what he was would make it unbelievably difficult to love but he still did. I wish Phoebe had remembered that and didn't just kick him to the curb.
I just rewatched Bride and Gloom and Cole sacrificed so much for Phoebe. Why couldn't she remember that? And it was her fault that he stayed the source of all evil. If she hadn't let that happen, they might have had a better chance together.
I've been able to watch a few of the 9 am broadcasts on TNT as well as the 6 pm ones these past few weeks. I've noticed something interesting. The morning episodes are from Season 3, where Phoebe is trying to justify her love to her sisters and is fighting to be with Cole, while the evening episodes are from Season 5 when she hates him and wants him dead. It's a little schizophrenic-feeling watching both types of episodes in one day.

Cole was one of my favourite characters on Charmed. I guess he appealed more to me as well as Julian McMahon(Cole) is an Aussie. He has come so far since Home and Away!
The episode that screens here next week is excalibur(sp). I like the story of the Lady in the Lake and King Arthur so hopefully that won't ruin it.

Charmed--It's nice to hope. I haven't watched the thing faithfully since Phoebe did her Rosemary's Baby impression and the entire Council or whatever the heck they called themselves got blasted (and Cole stole all their powers; ha!:D). I was an avid fan for the Pru days and still think cutting TW King (Andy) loose at the end of the first season was a bad move particularly because the guys they replaced him with were total drek, even Bane, the bounty hunter or whatever he was played by Antonio Sabato Jr. (probably not spelling his name right but--I don't really give a rip).

You know, maybe it's because the series was just starting, and the writers and casting team were just getting their feet wet, but I'm not so keen about the first episodes. The actors that played the villians always seemed to overdo it, and the writers didn't really seem to know what to do with Phoebe's power so much (ie. in the earlier episodes, Phoebe seems to have a premonition when she touches or see something distantly related to what will happen to the innocent they're supposed to save; whereas now, Phoebe must go out and come into specific contact with something specifically connected to the victim.) And, really, Pru was just "Brenda with powers" to me, so I didn't mourn her loss so much. The only part about the Pru storyline that touched me was her death and the way that Piper did/didn't handle it so well.
In the end, I've always felt that the driving force of the series is Piper (the plots always comes back to her somehow). If it was Holly Marie Combs instead of Shannen Doherty that left - I would be a mess!
Ultimately, I have to say that I like the dynamic between Piper, Phoebe, and Paige a lot better.

I don't know--I always liked Pru-Piper-Phoebe a lot better and they were just getting their feet wet with those episodes. Unfortunately the quality peaked right about the time Doherty left the show and has come back down to about the level it was at in the beginning because they've totally deconstructed their continuity several times. On the plus side, there are better special effects now.

I think I like the middle seasons the best, say Seasons 2 - 4. I'm rewatching the Season 1 episodes now and the quality just doesn't compare the later seasons. It probably has to do with it being a new show and with finding their footing. Once they got the growing pains out of the way, I think it got a lot more interesting. And I think the Cole storyline (minus his end) was one of the best arcs the show ever had. And I loved the drama of the Dan love triangle.
I'm not such a fan of Season 5 though. Every week, one of the girls turned into something (a mermaid, a nymph) or there was a new magical creature (leprechauns, fairy tale characters). It got old. They've continued that trend in this season but the Chris storyline makes up for that.
I didn't remember what a bi.. *err* witch Prue was until I started rewatching the old episodes. I know she was the oldest sister and all but she was so bossy. I did like the constant battle/family dynamic she had with Phoebe though. Season 2 Prue was actually likeable. She had loosened up a bit but she wasn't all weird like she was in Season 3 after she got her photographer job.
I hate how Piper has become the new Prue. After she inherited the oldest sister job, she turned into the bossy b*tch. I miss the old Piper.

I'd have to say it's a tie between Piper and Phobe. I totally dig Piper's powers, but I like Phoebe's personality more. To me, Piper's got some kind of inferiority complex, represses a lot of emotions, and gives up on personal matters quickly. I like Phobe because she's so sure of herself and independent and in-tune with others, even if she does often self-sabotage herself.

I like all of them! That's why it's power of 3. But if I had to choose one, i'd have to choose (such a difficult question).Well you see i really like Phoebe's, she can channel other people's power, she can levitate, however, i'm not sure i want her empath powers. and she's the only one who can kickbox, which can really be handy during times that they can't use their powers.

Is it just me or did last Sunday 4/25's episode feel like a filler episode before they close off the story arcs they introduced this season?
I personally disliked this episode very much.
Barbas' evidence was shoddy and it felt like the girls weren't even trying to defend themselves. It just felt like the reasoning used in this episode, well, wasn't reasonable.
And I think the Cleaners' are in Barbas' pocket. Yes, magic was exposed but the Cleaners didn't have to change the tape to show Darryl shooting the suspect in cold blood. There were a million and one ways for them to alter the tape without making Darryl look like a bad guy.
I think Phoebe sort of got what she deserved: being stripped of her powers. She had been using her premonitions for personal gain. And don't forget the episode where she & Paige conjure Mr. Right. Technically, the magic they did wasn't for themselves but for Piper but it still smacks of misuse of magic.
That episode just aggravated me so much.

Hm. I wouldn't say it's necessarily the worst episode ever because, in truth, I didn't care for some of the episodes first season. Even still...
I think the last few episodes this season will all be "filler" in that Holly Marie Combs is soooo pregnant. I'm sure that the writers had to accomodate the plot line as a result.
I agree that Phoebe got what she deserved. I think it makes for an excellent arc to the Phoebe plotline. I mean, it will be interesting to see how she gradually earns her powers back. But did ya'll see this week's episode? I think the writer's went a little wonky because how is it that Paige is willingly using her powers for personal gain in light of what just happened to Phoebe? That didn't make any sense at all.
The Cleaners' are an interesting twist. I don't necessarily think they're in Barbas' pocket, but I do think they're out to get the sisters since the sisters beat them at their own game.
As a viewer, I think it funny that they continue to bring Barbaras back - is that actor best friends with someone on the production team or what? I don't think I've ever seen a villian come back so often.
What I'm wondering is why they seem to have put the search for why Wyatt turns evil on hold. I don't want that storyline to be thrust upon me all at once in the final episode of the season.
As for Chris: The angst is beginning to get tired. They need to evolve his character and quick. Also, what will happen to the actor once Piper has the baby? Will future Chris even be allowed to come into contact with baby Chris?

I think the last few episodes this season will all be "filler" in that Holly Marie Combs is soooo pregnant. I'm sure that the writers had to accomodate the plot line as a result.
Unfortunately, that is most likely what will happen. HMC's pregnancy forces them to change the script around, which may be difficult, but I don't think that's an excuse for the poorly written stuff that was "Crimes and Witch Demeanors". Her pregnancy should be a creative challenge (am I being naieve here?) to the writers or they should focus more on the other sisters/characters (which is what I guess they were trying to do in "A Wrong Day's Journey Into Right").
I agree that Phoebe got what she deserved. I think it makes for an excellent arc to the Phoebe plotline. I mean, it will be interesting to see how she gradually earns her powers back. Although this wasn't the best episode either, I didn't hate it like I did with "Crimes". I did like what was going on with Phoebe in this episode though. It seems like she is learning to deal with not having active powers and is learning that there are consequences to her actions. I'm hopeful with the Phoebe storyline in future episodes/seasons. Now, if only Paige would learn her lesson.
During last Sunday's episode, I kept thinking to myself that the writers were on drugs because how could they pull a stunt like that? It made no sense whatsoever that Paige would do such a shameless thing after what happened to Phoebe. Paige would have to be completely braindead to do that. I wonder if it bothers Rose that her character is being portrayed as a complete moron.
And eww.. eww.. ew... to what Paige was doing.

I think it's the producers' idea of building suspense until the season finale.
Also, what will happen to the actor once Piper has the baby? Will future Chris even be allowed to come into contact with baby Chris?
I can see them contriving a reason to keep Chris around for a little bit next season but that's about it. I read on TV Guide Online that there might be an 8th season if the show continually does well in Season 7. If Season 8 did happen, I can see no way that Chris will be kept. It's kind of sad b/c currently he's my favorite character next to Piper.
I've also heard that Dorian Gregory will not be returning next season. It's also sad to see Darryl go. The one thing the show does well is fill in the supporting characters. We get new ones every season and I like the way they contribute to the arcs but Darryl was always a constant. It'll feel different with him gone.

I completely agree. They seem to be simply putting her aside and letting her poke her head in once in a while. I hope they develop what they have done a bit more and more before the final episode.
In truth, I'm dying to see how Piper and Leo will resolve their feelings for each other. I would really love it if they could be together again.
Although this wasn't the best episode either, I didn't hate it like I did with "Crimes". I did like what was going on with Phoebe in this episode though. And eww.. eww.. ew... to what Paige was doing.
Eww eww ew indeed. The one thing out of "Crimes" that was most impressive was how the writers stripped Phoebe of her powers because it's going to force them to be much more creative with that character. Ever since the show started, I always found it a little "easy" for them to always rely on their active powers. It'll be interesting to see how Phoebe will come up with ways of being resourceful and just as powerful at the same time.
I also liked how stripping Phoebe of her powers puts an arc on Paige's storyline as well. With the only consistent active power around, she's going to have to bear the brunt, take the lead. Clearly, with last week's episode, she's not handling it well and, really, it's quite the pathetic little out she created. One thing I've always been irritated about with Paige's storyline is that we never see her interact with real people much or get out of the house on her own. Perhaps her having to take the lead, but at the same time balancing her desires and responsibilites, will help her character evolve. Perhaps she will cease to be the "little witch in training that just doesn't know what to do" and mature as a Charmed one.
I think Barbas is one of the better villains. Some of the weekly villains are rather forgettable and boring. But with Barbas, I like the interaction that goes on between him and the sisters. I think it's more personal when the sisters come face to face with him since he knows them/their fears so well.
Don't get me wrong - I think the interaction with Barbas has always been interesting and I dig that they bring him back into the picture every once in a while. If anything, his recurring role always takes me back to the first season. In the real world, I just think it funny how he comes back so often. I mean, really, that actor must have an in with someone on the Charmed production team. Maybe he is on the production team, or someone's relative...
I can see them contriving a reason to keep Chris around for a little bit next season but that's about it. I read on TV Guide Online that there might be an 8th season if the show continually does well in Season 7. If Season 8 did happen, I can see no way that Chris will be kept. Exactly. The writers seem to have cancelled the Chris story out by writing it the way they did. In truth, I wouldn't want the writers to try and explain how it's rational to keep future Chris around. To me, that would really diminish the quality of the show for me.
I've also heard that Dorian Gregory will not be returning next season. It's also sad to see Darryl go. The one thing the show does well is fill in the supporting characters. We get new ones every season and I like the way they contribute to the arcs but Darryl was always a constant. It'll feel different with him gone.
Man, that's too bad. But, his role has run its course and I think the writers did a good job of introducing a valid reason why we'd see less of Darryl. I'm with you: I wonder what new supporting character they'll create to fill his place. Perhaps that guy Phoebe foresaw herself marrying?

I love Charmed! I've been told that I am the most like Piper, and a little like Phoebe. I think all of their powers are awesome! :D
My fav. char. is probably Leo, then Piper, then Phoebe.
I have two sisters, and we always tease each other about "Charmed" including that our b-day's all add up to eight in numerology, so we say we are The Power of Eight.

I LOVE charmed. I watch it whenever I can. I prefer the newer episodes. My favorite person would have to be Piper. I would also love to have her power of blowing up things and freezing things.

Hehehe, I can't stand this show! I have been forced to watch it on a few occasions when visiting my parents because .......... get this, my Dad watches it. lol
He watches it because of the pretty girls though, not because he is interested in the show itself. He's such a funny guy :rotfl:

They stopped showing Charmed for about 10 dyas because of the elections -- thank God they're back! I really missed 'em all, especially Piper. She's the best. Awww, and she'll have a baby soon! Isn't taht sweet? :)
P.S. Yes, it's weird, I know - but we are late with Charmed. :/ I know that Piper's already had a son, but not where I live. :D

Yes, where did you hear that? It sounds like a bad joke to me but then again, they did have Joe Millionaire do a guest spot last year (..::shudders at the memory::..).

I have heard that Nick was going to be on Charmed as well. Here is an article that confirms it. Nick Lachey Gets "Charmed" (http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,14440,00.html)

I don't see it working out great either. But if it is just for 6 episodes, it obviously won't work out.

The writers seem to have cancelled the Chris story out by writing it the way they did. In truth, I wouldn't want the writers to try and explain how it's rational to keep future Chris around. To me, that would really diminish the quality of the show for me.[/spoiler]
Man, that's too bad. But, his role has run its course and I think the writers did a good job of introducing a valid reason why we'd see less of Darryl. I'm with you: I wonder what new supporting character they'll create to fill his place. Perhaps that guy Phoebe foresaw herself marrying?
My favourite of the witches would probably be Paige. I would like the power to orb to other places.
Can't really comment on Nick Lachey as I have no idea who he is.
Comments on Chris: Loved the character and spent half the series saying I told you so to my family since I guessed in about his third episode of the latest series who he was.
How he was written out - well he couldn't remain in the show once his mission was completed at all. As it was I did nitpick slightly with when he disappeared. Assuming that Wyatt is now safe from turning evil - which in my opinion is open to debate anyway since they were only speculating on why he turned, Chris would no longer have had any reason to come back from the future and should have disappeared the second the mission was completed anyway. The getting shot seemed to me to be rather pointless.
The writers really did not think the time travel thing through, at least in my opinion, and were skimming very close to a time travel paradox. I have personally been using this last series of Charmed as a classic example of what not to do when writing time travel stories. (ok finished ranting)
That being said I will miss him in the next series, he was very amusing when he started to open up and his secret was out.
Will also miss Darryl - like someone else said he was one of the constant secondary characters.

I watched the show from the start, but I started getting bored of it when Shannon Doherty left. I continued to still watch for the Cole and Pheobe storyline but then he left so I don't bother watching anymore.

No offence, but I didn't like Prue (she was mean behind the scenes, I heard).
I love Charmed and especially the whole Cole story-line.
I must say I don't like Phoebe's hair short and I'm going to see the final episode on friday, can't waite...

I loved it!!!! I watched every single episode.
But then one day it stopped, more than a year ago. No more Charmed... :upset:
It stopped on that day people found out they were witches and Piper got killed and they went back in time so save her life. And then it ends with the girls lying on the floor.
I was nervous, I wanted so bad to know what happened to them. A few months later I found out Prue was dead. I found out there was a new sister. And then I found out a site where we can read the scripts. This way I know what's happening. But it's not the same thing. I miss watching :upset:

You know, I just got hooked on Charmed this summer. I think it's a great show. I'd have to say that Phoebe is my favorite character, but I haven't seen many episodes with Paige in them. I think I'd like the power to freeze things- that'd be awesome.
My favorite episode is the one where Prue is an empath and has to cope with all the human emotions- that one just seemed so real and deep, very, um, human. Anyone else like that one?

Season 6-final episode What a sad but happy episode. Even though I knew Chris was going to die I still shed a few tears when it happened. But I mean his death is very sketchy to me. It is possible I think to rewrite it. At the beginning I really didn't like Drew Fuller but now that he has gone-I will miss him.
It was so good to see Piper and Leo so happy at Chris's birth.

Yeah, I also think they're good. Quite convincing. At least, convincing enough for me to still watch it without complaining about the special effects :p. The way they do portals is interesting, and Leo's orbing is good too. :tu: for the Charmed special effects!
Of course, I don't do anything related to movie or television-making or special fx of any kind, so I don't have a very informed decision. That's just me watching the show and liking the effects.
