though i have many fav. chapters, The chapter i am always eager to read is usually the last chapter, thats usually Harry has won the day and wakes up in the hospital wing, or wakes up on a feild etc... So many things come into contex for Harry, espically in book four.

Favorite chapter was in GOF "New Beginnings" when Dumbledore makes his speach about Cedric Diggory and Harry, and their battle against the dark lord. It made me cry lol, and im a 16 year old male

I have no idea about PS/SS, CoS or GoF (yet) but my favorite in PoA is Hermione's Secret (it's the one where Hermione and Harry use the time- turner to help Sirius). It shows so much of Harry's personality and everything, and when Sirius says "you are truly your father's son, Harry". I love that bit *weeps* :'(

GoF is my favorite book out of any book in the world, so I've read it twice as many times as the other Potter books, and so I only know the chapters from GoF.

Interestingly enough, I think that "The Mirror of Erised," "The Boy Who Lived," and "The Parting of the Ways" are the most skillflly written of the entire series to date, yet POA is by far my favorite book. And that's probably due to the fact that nearly every chapter in POA is my favorite chapter in POA. But the six I've listed above are all simply outstanding.

It has to be starting The Hungarian Horntail and then ending with the First Task. When Harry was about to go out with the Horntail I was actually to get butterfly's myself! No other part in any of the books have made me feel the same way that way!

My favorite chapter in the CoS would have to be the chapter when they meet the spiders , and the car saves them.
My favorite chapter in the PoA would have to be when they meet Sirius.
My favorite chapter in the GoF is when Harry tricks the Dursleys by saying that Sirius is a convict...forgeting that he was wrongly accused.

SS--The Letters from No One--the way it builds and builds--perhaps the funniest chapter in the whole series, a wonderful introduction to the series, could never put it down after that!

CS--The Burrow--our introduction to the Weasleys

POA--Owl Post Again--of course Hermione's Secret is the real humdinger, but when Dumbledore says "Prongs rode again"--well, that's just wow! And Ron getting Pig in that chapter is pretty good, too!

GOF--my favorite of all the five books--can't choose a chapter--the whole climax. Flesh, Blood, and Bone through the Beginning is Rowling at her finest, in my opinion. Harry's feelings during the confrontation, the words of those who appear from Voldemort's Wand, Harry's reaction to Cedric's death, his hug from Molly, Dumbledore's speech, Harry's feeling afterward and on the train--doesn't get any better than that.

o.k., ok.--one....Veritaserum, Harry's immediate reaction, Crouch's tale, etc.

OOTP--hmmm, also hard to pick. The first chapters--just exactly how a fifteen-year old would feel after Cedric died and Voldemort came back. But I love any chapter with Dumdledore's Army! Worst chapter--missing Ron's great Quidditch match! Most haunting from all five books--Molly seeing her family dead because of the Boggart, and Sirius's great, great etc. grandfather in denial going home to call for Sirius.

So.....for summing up Harry's angst, The Woes of Mrs. Weasley.

Don't have the chapter titles with me so I'll just have to list my favourite bits if I can't remember.

PS/SS - The Journey from Platform 9 3/4 - Harry's panic in the station and that crucial meeting with Ron and the Weasley's. I love the part where Harry is listening to their conversation on the platform as he sits in the carriage.

CoS - The Burrow - Can you tell I adore the Weasley family!?

PoA - Hermione's Secret onward - I love the whole time-turner section. Also the Quidditch Final.

GoF - The First Task - The wonderful build-up and then the exciting task, and the reunion with Ron.
Also I adore the conversation when Harry and Ron have just asked Cho & Fleur to the Ball and been turned down, Hermione is so frustrated with Ron's obliviousness and poor Ginny is breaking her heart!

OotP - The Eye of the Snake, St Mungo's, and also the chapter where Dumbledore finally explains the prophecy. I can (and have) reread those endlessly!

I like "The Only One He Ever Feared", because the duel between Dumbledore & Voldemort was just awesome. Plus, the fact that Harry used the Cruciatus Curse will probably have some repercussions. There was a lot of intense action in that chapter, which I like. :)

"Priori Incantatem" from The Goblet of Fire is my favorite Harry Potter chapter so far. It is very intense that Harry duels with Voldemort and gets away. Cedric's request to take his body back to his parents was extremely sad. The same goes for Lily and James coming out of the wand. It was definitely an 'edge of the seat' moment when Harry is fighting to get away towards the Triwizard Cup portkey.

Toss up between 'Snapes Grudge' in PoA, 'Beyond the Veil' in OOTP and 'The Only One He EverFeared' in OOTP. I think those scenes in OOTP are excellent and really give us a hint of just how gritty and unpleasant the war is going to be.

Oh boy; thats a difficult question. I can't really say which chapters they are, but my favorite sections of the books are the Shrieking Shack, the end of GoF, and the end of OotP (with the DD/LV fight). Granted, there are many more parts and chapters I love a great deal, but those probably take the cake.

To tell the truth, one of my favourite chapters was 'The Riddle House' (that was what it was called, right?) at the beginning of GoF. I just thought it was really interesting to have JK writing about a situation and place that didn't involve Harry's point of view or thoughts - I think it's one of the only chapters in the whole series like that. Admittedly, it was linked to Harry as a dream at the end, which was effective in continuing the flow of the book. Just a cool chapter - and poor Frank! :(

I also love 'Cat, Rat and Dog' in PoA, just because of the chapter title - so cool! :D

This is hard! I think that my favorite chapter is the Yule Ball. I thought it was so funny. Although, I did really like the chapter in OotP about the O.W.L.S. too. If I had my books with me, I'd make a much longer list, but I'll just stick with those two.

My two absolute favorites are Cat, Rat and Dog (from PoA), and Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs (also from PoA). My favorite book out of all five.

I disliked GoF, but I have to say that Priori Incantatem and Veritaserum were very good chapters.

From OotP... Beyond the Veil to the end of the book. I didn't stop crying 'til I was done the first time I read it.

This may seem a bit odd, but I really like all the other chapters that are listed but one of my favorites is The Quidditch Final in POA. It starts sad with Buckbeak losing the appeal, then probably the most exciting quidditch game, Harry catching the snitch, and what I really like is that the trio is at a Diviantion class and they're all making jokes and its so funny. I was laughing out load through that chapter.

Mine is POA cat, rat and dog...I remember reading that entire chapter and actually saying out loud...WHATTTTTT! It seems weird but out of all five books that chapter was one of the most, if not the most, shocking! I also enjoy "the lost prophecy" and "the only one he ever feared" from OoTP

GOF-- "The Unexpected Task": Quite funny, and you learn a lot about Ron in this chapter. It took him three years to realize Hermione was a girl?!

OOTP--"Beyond the Veil": All out action. Whoda thought you'd see Harry hold back 12 DE's (verbally speaking), Luna Lovegood blow up Pluto, Ron make jokes about Uranus, Accio Brain, Sirius 'die', and Harry think that Hermione is dead all in one chapter? Fast paced and entertaining. Also, opens up a whole new dimension to the Harry Potter universe: Yes, people do die. (Well, Cedric dies in GOF, but not all are as saddened as I am about that.)

Out of all 5 books, my favorite chapter is in OoTP, 'The Lost Prophecy'. In the chapter alot unfolds and alot of questions are answered. And then if i really wanted to get into this, out of this chapter, the best is when Dumbledore tells Harry that its not okay for old men to forget what it felt to be young or something like that. We learn what Trewlany's prophecy was, why as long as Harry calls Privet Drive 'home', he is safe while not at Hogwarts, and why it has taken so long for Dumbledore to actually tell Harry everything.

this is a very cool question.
The Potion Master from SS/PS. It's still got the best written piece of dialogue in the series.
The Dueling Club. I found it hilarious that two grown wizards (Snape and Lockhart) were apparently unable to see the consequences of breaking students into pairs and letting them fire spells at each other. However The Very Secret Diary runs a close second if only for the Valentine's Day stuff.
I enjoyed POA but I don't have a favorite chapter.
GOF -- The Unexpected Task thru to the end of the Yule Ball.
OotP -- Dumbledore's Army. I love the movement of the kids towards working together. I think it's also neat to see Harry enjoy teaching. Snape's Worst Memory is a wonderful chapter
but kind of heart breaking. Nobody comes out of it looking good.

I always like the lasts chapters better, since they all explain things that you´ve wondering about the whole book (or not!!). so my favourite chapters are:
PoA-From "Cat, rat and dog" on
GoF-I really like "The madness of Mr. Crouch", it´s just so intriguing!! I like "The Pensieve" too, and of course from "The third task" on. I think that from the moment that the third task begins till Harry wakes up in the Hospital Wing, the book gets really scary. I remember i was reading "Flash, Bone and Blood" fot the first time at my dad´s house which was near a forest so it was a bit scary. It was really late and everybody was already asleep, so i thought "i´ll finish reading this chapter and go to sleep". But right when i read the last sentence-Lord Voldemort had risen again-i just had to read the next chapter, and i got to tell you, reading the "Priori Incantatem" chapter at midnight, at an isolated house when you are the only one awake just made it five times more scary!!!
OotP- I really like "Snape´s Worst Memory" because it gives us a chance to meet the marauders in school and all, and from the end of chapter "O.W.L.S." on, just when the action actually begins!!

PS - Hallowe'en - when the Harry, Ron and Hermione's friendship is formed.

CoS - The Duelling Club - I like the whole scene there but Harry's line about dropping the wand like Lockhart always sticks in my mind.

PoA - Snape's Grudge - purely because of the Marauder's map's responses to Snape - too funny

GoF - Mad-Eye Moody - why - because of Draco Malfoy the Amazing Bouncing Ferret of course!

OotP - Snape's Worst Memory - not only does it explain so much and give us a real look at the young Marauders (and Snape of course), it also brought it home to Harry that his father and godfather were not perfect. Something that was long overdue.

The only one he ever Feared is my favorite chapter. The duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort was wicked!!! When the statue came to life to protect Harry, we all knew something was up. When Dumbledore burst through those doors we knew Harry was saved and it was great seeing Voldemort go into a panic.

A bit off topic this here, but i have to agree with Ringo, i think that above all the other characters, Snape is he one that holds more secrets. Is definetly the one that i have more un-answered questions about. He is just going to be very, very important in the end, with his connections to both sides...mark my words. I just think he is an old greasy git, but still bloody brilliant!!(And he is NOT a spy for Voldemort, he is NOT bad!!)

Harry's greatest moment, as he slays the basilisk. The way he stands up to Tom Riddle is chilling, and we start to really understand Voldemort's personality, as more than just a cartoony supervillain.

The Quidditch Final (POA)
Hermione reconciles with the trio, slaps Malfoy, and quits Divination. All brilliant! Also, the only Quidditch game in the series that had me completely absorbed.

The Servant of Lord Voldemort (PoA)
The chapter that completely sold me on Sirius, and made him so likable. I felt such revulsion for Pettigrew in this chapter.

Career Advice (OOTP)
Umbridge and McGonagall's have their greatest brawl, Harry has a moment with Ginny in the library, Harry gets to talk with Sirius and Lupin about the past, and finally, the glorious exit by Fred and George.

This chapter makes me laugh every time I read it. I find Lockhart so hillarious.

I love the encounter between Snape, Lupin, and Sirius. I love the dialogue.

From GoF: "The Death Eaters" and "Veritaserum"
I love the first time we're introduced to the Death Eaters, and when Voldemort tells his story. I've always loved "Veritaserum" because so much information was revealed in this chapter and everything came together.

From OotF: "Occlumency" and "Snape's Worst Memory"
I love reading about Snape, and both these chapters are fascinating. We learn more about Snape and the kind of childhood he had.
