I did a search. I didn't find anything. I can't believe this thread doesn't exist. Maybe I'm the only one to watch them?

Anyway... Friends is the best TV show ever. It is full of funny moments, sarcastic comments and loveable characters. Phoebe and Joey are the best because of their natural innocence. I laugh to everything that Joey says or does. He's too funny for my stomach! :) I like Chandler being so sarcastic, Rachel so lovely, Ross such a geek .Monica is the only one that bothers me. Not all the time, but when she acts like a jerk...

So, does anyone watch Friends here or I was wrong to make a thread on this? :o

I watch Friends. I don't think it is as funny as it used to be though. The whole Chandler and Monica trying to have a baby plot is getting old. And also the fact that it is beginning to have a plot that you need to follow week to week isn't very enjoyable. But I am glad that it is sticking around for another year. My thursdays would be so lonely without it.

I rarely get to watch it nowadays but I've always loved that show. I've been told I'm just like Phoebe because of my natural blonde behavior I sometimes have (airhead). And then I've been told I'm like Monica because of my Obsessive Compulsivenss and I really like to cook for everyone.

Example: I was just typing that and I remeber that about 20 minutes ago I put vegetables on to cook....yeah I almost burnt them.

I can't believe there's not already a thread about this!! Friends is definitely the best show ever, and I watch it every single night. I think I've seen every episode by now! I love every character except Ross. He just annoys me for some reason. Also, I REALLY hope Rachel and Joey get together!! Anyone agree with me on this??

I only watch Friends occasionnally for a very simple reason. I HATE the French version. It sounds as if each character has the same voice.( Well you can tell boys from girls but it seems that Chandler, Ross and Joey have the same voice and the same goes for Phoebe, Rachel and Monica). Moreover, most of the humour is lost in the process of translation.

My piece of advice: If you ever come to france on holiday, don't waste your time watching it. The best thing to do is not to turn the TV on at all ;)

I like Friends. I watch the reruns a lot and watch it every Thursday.

But, I have a good friend who is obsessed with it. She has posters, a Rachel haircut (not kidding), and many, many collages.
It's becoming too obsessive and kind of scary.

But, I am a huge Rachel/Joey fan. I used to not like Joey, but ever since he fell in love with Rachel, I've become a Joey fan. I'm also a huge Phoebe/Mike fan. I hope she doesn't go back to David (Hank Azaria).

I LOVE Friends. I think it is the best comedy sitcom ever. I practically grew up watching it! I was really really small...like 6/7yrs old...maybe even smaller when I started to watch Friends. I love their humor....they just rock. And it's gonna be really sad when they end.

And the best thing is, you can watch reruns of Friends over and over again and you still cannot get tired of it! I just love how they grew over the past years and the way each episode relate to one another and everything. They should be getting a special award or something you know? They're THAT good.

Okay, here in my country we have just found out that Rachel was pregnant. With Ross... and what I want to know is - will they be together?

Guardian Angel - Rachel was pregnant with Ross baby. They do however not get together. Rachel now has feeling for Joey and in the last epsiod of the seson they end up together. But you will have to wait to see what will happen and if they will last.
I hope that Rachel will end up with Ross. I just can't see her with Joey.
I stoped watching the show that offten. It just was not as funny as it used to be.

I mean sure, they have a history together, but Ross has serious problems with commitment. They were never happy when they were going out, and you just know that if they got together, they'd get divorced a few months later.

FatalBeauty, I totally agree! :D I love the pairing of Rachel and Joey because they have so much chemistry together. And it was incredibly sweet when Joey told her that he's only been in love once - and that was with her. Very cute. Since I'm a big Rachel and Joey fan, I was really excited by the season finale. I just hope they stay together and don't go back to the Rachel and Ross thing. In my humble opinion, the pairing has just been overdone, and Ross has become the most annoying friend. I don't want Rachel to end up with him. :sigh:

Ditto! Me and my mom talk about this all the time. When the series started, he was this sweet, sensitive guy, but now he's a jerk who gets mad over stupid little things. He's not even funny anymore, and the show would probably be better without him. He's also way too overprotective of Rachel, and they're not even going out!

I'm not sure what my opinion of Friends is now. SOmetimes i think its got much better, sometimes i think its worstened. But my general stance is that its basicaly the same level of humour all through it.

Joey makes the series i think. Hes just so good. I mean, Joey and Chandler anyway. There cool. It wouldn't be the same with out them, they add an element to it. They should have there own series...well, maybe not.

But its one of the best comedy series. But if theres one thing that has been good is comedy series from America, there a mixed bunch, but there have been some greats, Cheers, Friends, Frasier to name a few.

I have to say I didn't like Friends in the past. Don't ask me why. It just didn't fit in with what I expected from a show.

But, there was till I actually sat down and watched the full show, yup, the whole 30 minutes. Man, was I hooked on it ever since.

Now, my favourite is Phoebe. I just love the way she gives her lines and just be blunt about it when it is actually sarcatic. Cool stuff.

I agree with the comments about Joey making the series. He's the coolest (not to mention the funniest)! He's always the one that makes me laugh. I also agree that Monica and Ross are the most annoying friends. I've already shared my thoughts on Ross, but I've also gotten tired of Monica at times in the past. I think she's gotten slightly better in the last one or two seasons, but for awhile there (that probably falls in about the middle of the series so far) she was obnoxious. I've always loved Phoebe, Rachel, Joey, and Chandler. :D

Ross is my least favourite of the Friends gang. He has just never seemed to fit the dynamic. Joey has always been my favourite. And it can differ from episode to episode from how I view the rest.
Monica(Courtney Cox) looks very similar to my brothers ex-girlfriend- I think thats why he stopped watching it.

I don't really like this whole Joey/Rachel thing. For one why must there be romance between them? Why can't they just stay friends? I mean first there was almost a Ross and Phoebe in the first episode, then there was Ross and Rachel, them Monica and Chandler and now Joey and Rachel. Ok, the Ross and Rachel thing was fine because he liked her for like a long time but why must the others have a relationship? For me the show was a lot more fun when they were just friends.

Also the Joey/Rachel won't work and Joey will have his heart broken. Why? Well, Rachel always seems to go back to Ross. Remember when Rachel found out Ross liked here but Ross had a girlfriend (Julie), when Ross broke-up with Julie Rachel didn't want him because he had made a list. It was only after she saw a vidio from her High School years and how Ross felt about her that she fogave him.
When they break up because Ross slept with a stripper and Ross get a new girlfriend Rachel tells him she still loves him. Ross then has to chose and picks Rachel but she doesn't want to get back together unless he takes the blame for the break up.
Later when Ross is about to marry Emily Rachel again tells Ross she loves him.
To me it seems that Rachel can't let go of Ross. Each time Ross finds someone Rachel had to spoil it by making Ross fall for her again. It seems that Rachel is useing Ross's feeling for her to stop him from having relationships.

I'm sure that in the end Rachel will go back to Ross. After she has been with Joey for awhile she will see how happy Ross is with his new girlfriend and she will tell him she loves him, again.

I actually like a lot of the older episodes. But one of the good things about this show is that the episodes don't get worse as the show gets older. Some shows (i.e. the simpsons) begin to loose their magical comical touch after a while. But Friends is still funny!

So, the final episodes are coming up. And, while that's interesting in that some loose plot lines will potentially be tied up, I was wondering if anyone has noticed...

Is Courtney Cox pregnant? I swear she's got a special pudge that the producers are specifically trying to hide with types of clothing, close shots, etc.. I just wonder because so many shows right now have pregnant female stars and they're playing the "hide and seek" game a lot lately. I don't know why this is interesting to me, but I think it's hilarious what some shows try to do to hide the obvious, or soon-to-be obvious.

But, yes, Friends is coming to a close. I'm really getting sick of the Rachel and Ross thing in that neither is willing to fess up about their feelings. But, other than that, I love the show, and the positive thing for me about this last season is that the show is being more slap-sticky with its humor.

Phoebe and Joey are really funny. Chandler and Rachel and medium funny. Monica is sometimes funny but I never find Ross funny. It's very rare when I laugh about something he said.

If you are talking about the episode where they first kiss (which ended season 9 in the U.S.), so far there have been 14 episodes in season 10. Any more questions, just ask I'm like a walking Friends dictionary; I love it! It's just the best show. It is funny and realistic without getting too "heavy" into real life.

Does anyone have any predictions for the series finale?

Mine (w/ spoilers based on the past few US episodes): Joey will get a job offer in L.A., setting up his spinoff "Joey". Monica & Chandler's baby will be born and they'll be moving. A small part of me is wondering if Mon will find out that she's pregnant.... Phoebe?? I don't know. She just got married, I don't know what's going to happen to her and Mike. Rachel- I think she's going to take the job in Paris, but realize that she can't take Emma away from Ross and that she wants to be with him and give up the job. I don't want to see Ross leave Ben. I don't want him to give up his job to follow her to Paris. It just seems to me that he's made a lot of sacrifices for her and it is her turn to do something for him. I do want them together. I would also love to see Carol/Susan and Ben in at least one of the last episodes.

OMG I LOVE FRIENDS!!!!! that's one of my favorite shows, i'm so sad that this is the final season, i heard that they were only doing a half season after this or something. idk. I do love that show. 2nd best after Seinfeld. Unlike Seinfeld though it never gets repetitive, which is why it has been running so long. The situations are always differrent. My favorite friend would be Chandler. His sarcasm is just hilarious. And watching him worm out of a tough situation is funny as hell. Most annoying would be Monica. I dont think she is funny at all. Favorite episodes are the one with the Holiday Armadillo, and the one with Ross' denial which was at the beginning of this season.

Also note how the sextet in the HP group are similar to this sextet. We have the sarcastic guy(Ron, Chandler), the guy who is innocent at first then becomes hot-tempered(Harry, Ross), the lovable, gullible fool (Joey, Neville), a spunky chick(Ginny, Rachel), a bossy type(Hermione, Monica) and the dreamy, erratic female(Phoebe, Luna).

Has anyone noticed that there are tiny wierd references to older episodes every now and then. For example, when Joey has a crush on Rachel and tells Phoebe, he tries to make up list of things he does not like about her. Ross does that at the very beginning and they have a big fight about it. Remember? And in the episode when monica gets irritated with Chandler's work laugh , we see the boss slapping him on his butt and calling him 'Bing!' which we have seen before annoys Chandler like hell.

Friends has actually turned me off a bit for the past few seasons, but oh my! The finale... I started to cry halfway through... (I feel like an obsessive ignoramus, but then, I am, so I'm par for the course :cool:) It was, without question, right up there with the top ten episodes ever. Really, I can't think of a better way to have ended the show. The litmus test for me was that I didn't feel bitter or resentful at any of the final developments- this episode didn't shock us or cheapen anything that has happened in the last ten years. My memories of Friends are all the rosier, thanks to the love and earnesty the writers and actors invested into their final effort. A job well done, and well appreciated.

ILOVE Friends. I have the first seven seasons on DVD, and have watched every episode at least twice. I don't cry, but I did last night (watching the finale). It is so sad to think that it's all over! Joey will be a fun show, but without the others to play off of, it wont be the same. As Rachel and Monica said back in season six, "It's the end of an era!"
Actually, the finale wasn't the best I thought it could be. But I was ecstatic that they threw in a bunch of the running jokes: Phoebe's 'philange' fixation(and haul a** attitude), 'on a break', the chick and the duck, monica's insane strength, etc... And, my favorite pairing of characters being Joey and Chandler (the ultimate bachelors even when Chandler married Monica), the storyline around the chick and the duck was special to me, because it was like back in season one, where they are just two guys hanging out with their pet poultry. It brought closure, all around, by returning to the beginning. That same closure Rachel lectured Ross's answering machine about in season 2. Farewell, Friends, you'll be missed.

I think the problem with any finale is expectations being set so high. But it was weird, the episode before with Rachels going away parrty when she spoke to each other seperately made me well up more than this one. But I did like they called the baby boy Jack ... Jack Gellar is my favourite and I was sad I missed Elliot Gould on Jonathon Ross due to Big Brother :(

I am an absolutely obsessive Friends fan! Plus I'm a very ardent R&R (Ross and Rachel) fan. Thats why I was so put off by the Joey/Rachel storyline. I have 3 of the DVD sets with most of my favorite episodes. I think I compare everything to Friends, even Harry Potter. Some of my favorite episodes: TOW Ross Finds out, TOW the Prom Video, TOW the Jellyfish, TOW Chandler Can't Cry, TOW Phoebe's birthday (I think that's what its called), TOW the East German laudry detergent, TOW the Blackout and The Last One (just because its the last one and reunion of R&R).

I think Joey and Phoebe are the funniest friends. The funniest moment for me was in TOW the Blackout, when Phoebe, Monica and Joey are singing and we see Ross fighting with the cat on the balcony. I remember I laughed like crazy when I first saw that and I still do. :rotfl: The most romantic moment: R&R's first kiss at Central Perk and the M&C proposal. The saddest moment: R&R taking a break.

As I can't pick the funniest one - let's face it: it's impossible - the two I enjoyed the most were:

TOW the flashback - when Chandler's girlfriend asked them if they had slept with each other, and then she asked: what about almost...and it turned out, that almost everyone had those moments. That was great.

TOW the past thanksgiving - it was when they told stories about thanksgiving - and Chandler found out that Monica cut his toe cause he called her fat. Plus the dancing turkey.

I believe Friends is the BEST SHOW EVER. I haven't found many who agree, but Ross is most definitely my favorite. Anyone else feel that way? He was definately better in the beginning of the show, but I still really like him. He was like my ideal boyfriend in his beginning years but I'm not so sure now. He's incredibly passionate (particularly about Rachel, they've always been meant for each other) and sweet and he can be funny but mainly because he's being stupid.
