In Their Own Words ~ L/J Love Story
Hey
![]() This is my first fic EVER!!! I just came up with the idea of Lily, her friends and the marauders each having a journal that comes into the story every now and again, as a kind of POV. HOWEVER, the story is going to be written mainly through Lily's eyes ![]() Im going on holiday for a week and then the day after that I'm back at school so this (and if i get a chance to post tomorrow) is all I've got a chance to write, but after that i promise to update regularly DiScLaImEr: None of the characters in this story are my own except Prof. Meade, Prof. Lupos and Lily's friends, with the exception of Alice Longbottom. Feedback Link is here

Dearest Diary,
This is it. In about an hour I'll be leaving for Kings Cross Station to go to Hogwarts for the very last time. A part of me really doesn't want to go. I know it's stupid, but maybe if I don't go and accidently-on-purpose miss the train, then I wont have to "officially leave" Hogwarts. It's the only place I can really feel at home, I'ts where I belong I suppose. A large part of me thinking that is probably down to Petunia - I wish she would just grow up!! I need to stop letting her get to me so much, but you know what? I'm not going to think about that today - nothing can spoil today. I'm going to see Alice, Amanda, Grace - and I can't forget Remus! He was so good to me in 5th year, helping me study for our O.W.Ls, ever since then we've been good friends. Don't go getting any ideas!! That's all we'll ever be - friends, we just don't see each other in that way. Besides, I've got a sneaking suspiscion that he and Grace have got a thing for each other - but I'll just have to see what this year brings!! I mean, if It's going to happen it will be this year, wont it? Oh. No. i've just remembered. With Remus comes The Marauders - and with The Marauders comes Potter. Potter and me, well we just don't get along. He's had a thing for me since First Year I am told, by none other than Mr. The World Revolves Around Me himself. He's so arrogant, always ruffling up his hair so it looks like he's just got off his broomstick, he knows exactly how to get under my skin. And another thi- Oops got to go mums calling - write more later, Lily x ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ "Lily get down here now!" her mother, Marianne Evans screamed up the stairs, "The train leaves in - 10 MINUTES!!!" Lily Evans, an almost normal seventeen year old girl ran top-speed down the stairs into the hall, where her mother and father were waiting along with her trunk and snowy owl - Harriet. "Oh My God!! Why didn't you tell me?!" Lily cried, feeling slightly flustered "She just did," a dull voice from the living room called out, "I'm all done cleaning now mother!" Petunia said with a bright smile Lily clenched her fists so tightly that her nails were digging into the palm of her hands, 1. She was going to be late 2. Petunia was trying to annoy her 3. Just Petunia "Now, now Petunia, we all know that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit," Lily said with a falsely bright smile. Before Petunia could say anything in response, Lily quickly kissed her mother and father on their cheek and gave Petunia another would-be-charming smile, grabbed hold of her belongings and apparated to Kings Cross Station with five minutes to spare. ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ Lily re-appeared about a metre infront of the train. "****!!" she thought, her usually perfect apparation had been spoiled by her anger at Petunia for just being so Petunia-ish. She suppressed a slight laugh at the thought of her going any further and landing on top of the train! "That would have been some entrance for the first day back!" she smiled to herself as she looked around the platform, trying to spot one of her friends. "No, that's something that Potter would do, showing off infront of the whole school just because he's so smart," she thought, her temper rising again. "Speaking of the devil....here he comes! Quick just jump onto the train before he sees you! Too late," she thought as she heard a very loud shout of "OI, EVANS!!" Lily closed her eyes and silently counted to ten, before turning around to face the dirrection of the voice she knew all too well. James Potter - Quidditch Extroadanair - had just separated himself from a crowd of people all surrounding a very large, shaggy black dog and was walking towards her with his arrogant strut, grinning from ear to ear. "How was your summer?" he asked, putting his arm around her shoulders "It was good thanks," she answered politely, wriggling out of his grip and turning to face him "Soooooooooooooo," James said staring pointedly at her chest "WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU STARING AT!!!" Lily shouted, letting all her frustrations out on James Potter, she didn't care that people where staring and starting to laugh - she wasn't going to stand for this! James immediately burst out laughing at her outburst and said once he had composed himsel, "Your Badge!" "Oh," Lily said getting more embarrassed by the minute, It was true, she had completely forgot about her newly-appointed position of Head Girl. She looked at the spot where James had been looking moments before, and saw the silver badge with the initials "H.G" on it shining brightly and reflecting the red from the Hogwarts Express infront of them. "Sorry, I forgot all about it," she mumbled to her shoes "It's O.K Lils, besides you look cuter than ever when you're angry! Sorry for not explaining my actions before, which were bound to be mis-interpreted to look pervy - especially by you, and anyway - Congratulations"he said with an enthusiast bow. "Er, thanks," she said with a sheepish smile not really knowing what to say, when she didn't say anything else he wavad his hands in a way to signal for her to elaborate. "What?" Lily said walking onto the train just in time as the train was beginning to leave the staion, merely thinking that James had overdosed on the sugar quills again. James ran onto the train after her just as the doors were closing and stood infront of her with a scandilised look. "WHAT POTTER!" "This!!" James sharply jabbed his finger into his chest, where there was a very similar badge to hers pinned to his robes - except with the initials "H.B" on it. "OH NO YOU DID NOT!!!!!!" Lily bellowed ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ Hey guys ![]() Going on holiday at about 3 this afternoon so thats it ![]() please post some FeEdBaCk

"Yeah, I did!!" James said, clearly very pleased with himself and either not getting that she was mad at him or just trying to wind her up, "I say - isn't this going to be exciting!" he said in a pompous voice, sounding very like present day Ernmie Mcmillan
"NO!!!" Lily exclaimed, he was ruining everything! "Just think........our own very private bathroom............moonlit walks around the school as we patrol - alone........." James was currently in dreamworld "POTTER!!!!!! ST-" "........allowed out at any time we'd like - Just think Lil's, romantic dates by candlelight in the Great Hall - just the two of us ""POTTER STOP!!! YOU'RE RUINING EVERYTING!!" Lily shouted, stamping her feet with rage and storming into the nearest compartment, where luckily she could see Alice's curly blonde hair through the window. "What happened to her being over the moon at me being Head Boy and inviting me to the first Hogsmeade visit that came along?" James thought, his mood rapidly detereorating, "****!" he muttered under his breath James was just about to step into the compartment that Lily had just dissapeared inside when he heard a familiar high pitched giggle behind him. Whirling around hurricane-style he saw that there was nobody there. *~*SiRiUs'S pOv*~* "Great he's heard us, good one Wormsy" Sirius thought, rolling his eyes. Tapping his friends Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew on the shoulder, he signalled for them to retrace their steps back behind the wall to where hey had been watching the whole fiasco. He watched Remus, or Moony as he was more commonly called by the Marauders, calmly lift the cloak a little higher to enable them to walk back. He jabbed Moony and Wormtail (Peter) sharply in their backs, mouthing "We haven't got all day! Move!" when they turned to face him, James was already walking towards where they where with a mystefied expression on his face. Once they were safely behind the wall he wasted no time in performing the Bat Bogey Hex on Peter for being such an imbosile. *~*EnD pOv*~* "Wormsy?! Guys?!" James called out, when nobody answered he started to walk with his hands outstretched to where he had heard the noise moments before. "Scratch that," he thought and muttered the spell, "Protrego!" under his breath and fired against the wall opposite him at the end of the corridor. With nothing to hit and an anti-jinx spell on the walls the spell merely bonced off onto the wall accross from it. Hearing a crash, James smacked himself on the head thinking that he had just destroyed school property before he had even got there. Running to repare it he heard someone swore that sounded very familiar. Turning a corner he found himself staring at his three best friends and - as Remus only had half a leg, he guessed - his invisibility cloak. "Hey Prongsie what's up?" Sirius said getting up from where he was slumped against the wall James glared at him, and glanced around at Remus who was picking up the invisibility cloak and was trying to revive Peter, who was unconcious after James's Protrego spell had hit him straight in the face. "You heard?" James merely said, leaning against the wall "Sooooo - it went well then," Sirius said bursting out laughing and refering to James's argument with Lily "Lily's a nice girl, give her a break for a bit Prongsie." Remus said from his place beside Peter. "NO!! I swear on Pad's life that she likes me!" "Yeah, she wants him dude." Sirius said from where he was standing, leaning on the wall. James, completely missing his sarcasm, gave him an approving nod, "Arrrrgh, I'd better go apologise again." He said, turning around and walking in the opposite dirrection down the train "Be nice!" Remus called down the train "Stay cool Prongs!" Sirius called, bursting out laughing,"What jinx do ya think she'll use this time Moony?" He said, when James was out of earshot *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* *~*LilY's PoV*~* Lily was sitting, staring out of the window when James stepped into the compartment. She had just finished telling her best friends - Alice, Amanda and Grace - all about the whole episode with James. When she had finished she gave them all a "look" as if to say "See what I mean about him?" when they didn't say anything right away. Grace and Amanda had just exchanged knowing looks and Alice had tried to calm her down for about thirty seconds until Lily bit her head off when she said "Come on Lil's, give the guy a break, he was probably just excited about it, being Head Boy's a big deal." Now she was just looking at the wild landscape out of her window in a huff. *~*EnD pOv*~* "Um, Evans, can I talk to you for a sec?" James asked timidly from the compartment door "Sorry no you can't Potter, we're busy in here," Lily said, only turning away from her position at the window for a second "Er, yeah, you look it," he said glancing at the four girls who were each sitting at seperate corners of the room, Alice reading a magasine, Amanda staring into space and Grace humming a tune to herself that sounded alot like "Greased Lightening". "Well I don't really want to talk to you right now Potter, so, if you don't mind," she said gesturing towards the door "Well I do Lily " James said stubbonly "Well I don't" "Do" "Don't" "Do" "Don-" "GUYS!!!!!!! Please SHUT UP!!!!!!!" Amanda screamed from her corner by the door Seconds later, Sirius came skidding in with Remus not far behind, crashing into James. Remus surveyed the room with a confused expression on his face from the floor and Sirius said, "Oh." Grace screamed as she watched Remus trip over Sirius and fall on the floor. "What?!" James said getting irritated now "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell, Um - " Sirius began "We heard shouting so Padfoot thought that Lily was jinxing you again Prongs so he wanted to come and see, and cheer her on." Remus chimed in, telling on Sirius after he had tripped him up infront of the girls, whilst Grace was helping him up off the floor where he had landed when he crashed into James. Alice started laughing and Amanda just said "I wish they'd just hurry up and get married or get it on or something, this is getting boring now," blushing when Sirius grinned at her and said, "Exactly!" James stood glaring at them all before saying to Lily, "Well?" "What?" Lily said clearly deep in thought about something "Outside," James said smiling breifly. When she just looked at him, truly bewildered he added, "To talk." "Oh. Fine. Whatever." Lily replied walking out of the room glad to leave the situation, it was getting embarrassing. She had pretended to be extremely hot, fanning herself, when she turned bright red when Amanda had made the comment about them "getting it on". She didn't even know why she had got embarrassed, all that James ever did was annoy her. All. The. Time. James followed her and stood opposite her outside of the compartment, making sure that nobody was around when he said, "I'm sorry, O.K? I didn't mean to upset you or anything, you know, before." "What's this, James Potter apologising to me twice in one day? It's either a miricale or you've finaly got all grown up and mature," she said rolling her eyes, "I believe the former." "Oh yeah, well what if I told you that I had? What if I told you that I was sick of you insulting me and going off on one all the time whenever I just try and be nice to you? What if I said that I had worked really hard for that badge all year? What if I said that I was tired of you calling me stupid and arrogant and annoying and-" "Potter," Lily said quietly "What if i said, Lily, that I wanted us to be friends, FOR YOU TO KNOW THE REAL ME EVANS - not this fake person you seem to think I am? W-" James said raising his voice with every word, going on oblivious to her interruption "James, stop - please" James stopped, perhaps it was because she had called him by his first name for the first time EVER, or merely because she had asked him, or because that she was looking right into his eyes and he was finding it hard to concentrate. "I'm sorry," she said, smiling slightly, "But you've got to realise that I'm only like that when you're.....just-" "What?" he asked, still looking into her eyes "Annoying." she said but quickly smiling when she saw that he was looking a bit hurt, before adding, "Friends?" "Yeah......of course, but - " "No Potter," Lily said walking back into the compartment, smiling over her shoulder before she stepped inside and beckoned him in. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* thanx to the two people who gave me feedback! u know who u are its weird that only two people have bothered to review when it says that this thread has got 100+ views how funny plzplzplzplz give me some feedback even to say its carp This post took me ages so PLZ! Hey
This post is for Numzen coz she's been my most loyal reviewer so far lol *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* The Hogwarts Express pulled into Hogsmeade Station at halp past six that evening and the students were greeted with one of the worst thunderstorms in history. Lily, Grace and Amanda all huddled together infront of the compartment doors as the freezing cold could be felt inside on the train, Alice had left them to go and meet up with her boyfriend Frank Longbottom who was in a compartment further along the train. Peter had been quickly rushed off the train as soon as it stopped to be taken to Madam Promfrey, the young nurse in charge of the Hospital Wing by the Lunch-Trolley-Lady, to be treated for his injuries that had been caused by James's Protrego jinx. Sirius and James had dragged Remus off to stand guard once he found the Lunch-Trolley-Lady's-Lunch-Trolley, (lolz ) so he could steal some food for their dorm room. "Maybes, it'll go off soon," Amanda said hopefully, looking up at the sky as if doing some sort of prayer, as the girs were shoved to the side as people rushed off the train to the horse-less carriages that were waiting for them about 500 yards away. "Name me one time when a Hogwarts storm has just gone off, just like that," Grace snapped clicking her fingers Lily was ignoring them, she was mentally calculating the distance between herself and the horse-less carriage awaiting them and making frequent grabs at her head. Remus reappeared seconds later followed by Sirius, who was doing some sort of strut as he walked, and James. There were massive bulges underneath their cloaks, were they had obviously stowed away the food that they had stolen in their robes underneath. Sirus walked over to where Amanda was standing and put his arm around her shoulders, before saying to all the girls, "You guys still here? Everyone else has got off the train ya know," he said gesturing to the empty corridor and compartments ahead of them. "Were not thick Sirius," Grace said rolling her eyes at him, "Lily and 'Manda are having a fit coz they think their hair is gonna get wet." "Am not," Lily replied, giving the food parcels in the boys pockets a scandilized look as if they had personally hurt her, "You are too!!!" Amanda cried at Grace, clearly offended "I hope you didn't steal that," Lily said narrowing her eyes, "Oh My Gosh Remus! You're a prefect! And Jaaaaaaaames - you're head boy!!!" "Relaaaaaaaaax, Evans," Sirius soothed, "you sound like McGonnagal - and we haven't even got inside Hogwarts yet," he said rolling his eyes at her, running off the train before she could reply and dragging Remus along with him, who had been staring at Grace, leaving the rest of them behind. "OI!!!! WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING WITHOUT ME?!?!" James bellowed at them to be heard through the storm. "We thought we'd leave you girls alone," Sirius called out to him, barely being able to be heard through the storm James jumped off the train and ran after them, zig-zagging through the rain at top-speed before reaching the carriage that Sirius and Remus had dissapeared behind, just as he was climbing in he turned around. "JAMES!!! GET IN IM FREAKIN COLD!!!!!" Sirus shouted at James who had a rather dazed expression on his face. "Aaaaw, she looks so vuuulnerable up there " James thought, and, completely ignoring Sirius's objections, dashed back through the pouring rain to where Lily was still standing, shivering on the train."Here," he said, smiling down at Lily and taking off his cloak and holding it out to her. "Oh no......James I couldn't - you'll catch your death out there," Lily said, slightly embarrassed at her Night-in-Shining-Armour's actions. "Lily! Take the bloody cloak i'm freezing!" James said through chattering teeth, when she looked like she would object again, he added, "How would you feel if I was in the Hospital Wing this time tomorrow morning with pneumonia, knowing that you could of stopped it by just taking the cloak?" he said smiling, "Go on, take it! You know you want to!" he said winking at her "Well......if your sure," Lily replied, knowing that she didn't really want to pass up the offer. When he nodded, she took the cloak and held it above her head with one hand whilst James grabbed the other, dragging her through the rain to the mysterious horse-less carriage that was waiting for them. Without a second glance back to Amanda and Grace, Lily let herself be dragged to the warm, dry carriage ahead of them laughing all the way. Amanda and grace had no choice but to follow them, running as if a pack of hungry wolves were on their heels screaming and swearing all the way. When they were safely back inside the carriage, James soaked through to his skin and shivering whilst Lily was perfectly dry, Lily handed James back his cloak before managing a breathless, "Thank you!" "What are friends for," James said smiling at her. "We wondered where you had got to," Remus said raising his eyebrows and smiling before taking out an old and very battered book and began to read. Sirius rolled his eyes at Remus's book. "Told you old Prongsie boy was off playing the hero again," he said slapping remus on the back. James leaned accross and smacked Sirius on the head and tossed him the Marauders Map, "Have a look to see where old Skeater is, will you, before we go inside and bump into him with all this food."James turned around and noticed that Lily was looking at him strangely. "What? You O.K?" he asked with a note of worry in his voice before drying himself off with his wand. Lily coughed, shook her head slightly and said, "Yeah sur-" She was interrupted by Grace and Amanda who came stumbling in at that moment, both looking very flustered. "Every girl for herself then Lily?" Grace said, looking mutinous. "I t..thought tha..t [i]you didn't mind [/I} getting your hair wet?" Amanda said between coughs. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Feedback is greatly appreciated!!! come on ppl!! per-leeeeeeeeease!!! ya know im never gonna shut up about it ill go on STRIKE!!!!I will Really Im being totally serious here ppl Then, guess what? Thanx to sheilajsn, numzen and mazzie for all giving me feedback!!! it means alot
![]() ![]() sorry this post isn't as long as the others, but i've got hardly any time 2nite *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* They arrived at Hogwarts for the last time, ten minutes later. Lily, Alice, Grace and Amanda walked on ahead of the Marauders in silence. They were all thinking about their last ever year at the magical place that they, ever since they arrived back in First Year, thought of as their home. Lily was walking along deep in thought with a worried expression on her face until Alice interrupted her. "What's up Lil's?" Alice asked "Hmmm, what?" she replied, still thinking "What's wrong? You look kinda worried!" Alice giggled "Oh! Well, it's just about N.E.W.Ts this year. I've memorized all our textbooks from First Year in the holidays? Do you think that will be enough?" Lily asked, feigning biting her lip. Amanda who had obviously been listening in on the whole thing, nudged Grace in the ribs and they both promptly burst out laughing on the spot. "You're kidding right?" Grace asked her with a look of disbelief oin her face. Lily was lying of course. That hadn't been what she was thinking about, even though it was true about her memorizing every Hogwarts textbook she had ever owned in preparation for her N.E.W.Ts. None the less, now she had said it she realised she was actually quite nervous about her forthcoming examinations. No, her thoughts had been on James Potter. The truth was, she didn't have a clue why she had let herself be dragged through the rain holding his hand and wearing his cloak, merely hours after making friends with him for the first time in almost seven years. It was true, she did think that he had turned over a new leaf after his strange outburst on the train but she wasn't even fully sure that she could trust him yet. Also, she couldn't help thinking that her actions might of been mis-leading in some way to him, she didn't want him to think that he was leading her on. Even though he was just Potter, he was her friend now and she didn't want to break friends again over something stupid, Lily Evans made friends for, hopefuly, life - not just for Christmas. Her thoughts were interrupted, yet again, by Alice. "God girl, you seriously need to get a life," Alice said in an un-Alice-like voice, "I care about my N.E.W.Ts and grades and stuff as much as you do, but you don't see me memorizing every book in my possesion." "Yeah!" Amanda added, "More haste less speed!No.........that's not right," she said slowly, but was distracted again by the back of Sirius's head, which had just came into view. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* *~*JaMeS pOv*~* James watched the stormy sky above him and his thoughts of Lily were interrupted for a second with his thoughts of awe and wonder (lol ) at the magical ceiling above him in the Great Hall. He was pretending to be totally pre-occupied with the sky above him so his sly glances down at Lily every 5 seconds would go, hopefuly, unnoticed my anyone. He had raced ahead of the other Gryffindors as they made their way into the Great Hall and barged Peter out of the way to get the seat infront of Lily. He was so happy that, if he was showing it, people would of presumed that he had found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.*~*EnD pOv*~* Lily watched as Professor Dumbledore stood up at his place in the middle of the staff table, waiting for the last of the new Hogwarts First Years to sit down at their appropriate House tables. Gryffindor had nine new house members, five boys and four girls. Nearly-Headless-Nick, the Gryffindor Ghost, had settled himself between two very unnerved First Years unnaware that he had just sat on top of one of their friends. She looked accross at Sirius and James who were both shaking with uncontrolable laughter at this, Sirius had just punched James on the arm and James had his head on the table to hide his laighter from Professors Dumbledore and Mc.Gonnogal (their head of house). "For God's Sake - I wish he would just hurry up with it so we can eat already, I'm starving!!!" Sirius said to James's approving nod and Amanda's burst of laughter. Peter put his finger on his lips and said,"Sssssssssh!" "Shut it Wormsy!" James replied, defending Sirius, who may as well of been his brother. He caught Lily's eye and winked at her. She ignorded him and pointed her head in Dumbledore's dirrection, her eyes saying, "Look!" James looked up to see Professor Dumbledore watching them with a calm expression on his face and, with a quick worried glance aroun d the room, saw that the whole school was staring at them. James wasted no time in kicking Sirius with all his might under the table. When Sirius looked as if he was about to say something James quickly jerked his head in Dumbledore's dirrection and said, "Pad, Look!" Sirius slowly turned around and met Dumbledore's steady gaze. "Now that we have the full attention of our Gryffindor Seventh Years," he said in his calm voice, his eyes twinkling through his half-moon spectacles, "I shall begin. To our new arrivals, "Welcome to our school!" and to our elder students,"Welcome back!"" he said his eyes landing on the Gyffindors, "On behalf of said Seveth Years, namely Mr.Black and Mr.Potter, Tuck in!" When the plates infront of them magically filled with food and the students started to fill their plates as if they had never before seen food in their lives, he added, the Great Hall falling into silence again at the sound of his voice, "Oh, I musn't forget.Mr. Black," he said, waiting for Sirius to turn around to face him before he said, "Please refrain from using crude language, saying the Lord's name in vain and such." *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* After Dumbledore's final speach had ended, nothing much had been said - Just the introduction to their Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Lupos and a reminder to stay out of the Forbidden Forrest - Lily pretty much single-handedly, with a bit of help from James and the other Gryffindor Pefects (all whom had seemed to have forgotten their jobs already, except Frank who Alice had made escort her up to the Common Room and Remus, who was at the back of the queue) lead the new Gryffindor First Years up to their dormitories. She stayed down in the Common Room with Alice, Grace and Amanda in their favourite seats by the fire for a while, gossiping about what everyone looked like and noting down any nice guys they had spotted in the great hall. They mostly talked about Amos Diggory, and they were all thorougly dissapointed when Amanda announced that he had been dating a pretty Ravenclaw since the end of the previous year. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Hey ![]() To all those silent readers out there - plz leave me some feedback, the links at the bottom of the post above this. Hope you like

Dear Diary,
Wow, alot happened today! Guess what I've gone and done? No, you'll never guess!! I've decided to give Potter a chance. That's right - Lily Evans has decided to give the person who, right up 'til this morning, I hated most in the world, a chance. I know. I have no idea how it happened WHATSOEVER. Well I guess I do, sort of. I honestly think he might of turned over a new leaf during the summer - somehow. OH MY GOSH!!!!!! MAYBE HE GOT STRUCK BY LIGHTENING!! No,calm down Lily, you're starting to sound like Amanda. I just really don't get how it managed to happen. I mean, reading back to what I've written about him,it seems like the impossible has occured. From last June I quote, "He thinks he is IT. Honestly, he has to be the most arrogant member of the opposite sex - scratch that, boy OR girl - that I have ever come accross in my entire life. Why so many people like him I will never figure out. AND THE WAY HE TALKS TO ME!!! I think I'm going to start praying,to every God imaginable, every night that he will just leave me ALONE!!" See what I mean? Anyway I'm rambling. But he did look good when he was all wet and stuff when that dreadful storm was, er - storming. WHAT?!?! I can say that now - I'm his friend!!! Anyway I've got to go, Grace wants to turn the light off - I'll write more when I get a chance. With love, Lily Evans xx ENTRY ONE...UN...UNO...EINS This is stupid. Well I feel stupid writing in this thing. Sirius is laughing at me so hard right now his whole face has turned blue. Siriusly. HA!! Do you get it? SIRIUS-ly Oh yeah, you can't talk. Oh well - I bet if you could you would be laughing right now. Wow, that was a really good joke! I think I'm gonna bring that back in! Me and Sirius used to say it alot back in Second Year, but then we stopped. I dunno why. Oh yeah, back to this thing. I only bought it because I saw Lily with hers in the Common Room a couple of times last year. Siriusly. Nah, maybe that joke isn't as funny as I thought it was. Maybe I should try it out on Lily. No, on second thoughts I'll try it on Peter. Back to the diary, NO JOURNAL! Journal sounds much more macho than diary. Maybe I should carry it into the Common Room one day whilst she's there. Now THAT will impress her, and she'll think that we have something in common! Well, which we do now that I've writtin in it. Cool . Oh. I've got nothing else to say. I KNOW!!! I'LL TALK ABOUT EVANS!!!!!!!!!!! Lily, Lily, Lily, Lily. Where to start about Lily Evans? The way her emerald green eyes are so, well ...green - wow, that was lame. I'm even writing this in green as a tribute to her eyes - dedicated I know. Or the way her hair glints in the sunlight, in that weird fire-like colour. What's it again? Oh yeah - Auburn. Or, MOST OF ALL how she is MY FRIEND now? Uh-huh. GO JAMES!!! One small step for man, one giant leap for Prongs. I have no idea how I managed after all this time - but I did! I thought I was a gonner, honestly. I SHOUTED at her and everything. The biggest thing was though - I was actually MY SELF with her this time. No false lines that Sirius was telling me, no showing off and my hair was actualy FLAT on my head!! Girls work in mysterious ways. James. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* The girls jumped up and down on their beds, dancing to Girls Just Want To have Fun and using their hairbrushes as micr-phones. The song was currently number one in the muggle world and, since Cyndi Lauper was currently Lily's favourite artist, Lily had brought along the words to the song and was in the middle of teaching the girls how it went. It had been a big hit so far, especially with Alice and Amanda, who were currently doing a strange dance routine on Alice's bed. (Think Britney in Crossroads when they come back to the hotel after they've been to the Kareoke Bar. YA KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!!!) Lily and Grace both fell about laughing, Grace hiding her head underneath her pillow. The dancing was interrupted with Lily's loud screech of, "OH MY GOD!!! WE NEED TO GET DOWN TO BRAKFAST!!! CLASSES START IN HALF AND HOUR AND WE NEED OUR NEW SCHEDULES AND EVERYTHING!!!" Alice and Amanda promptly plopped back down onto their beds and, seconds later, there was a sudden scramble to see who could get in the bathroom first. Grace very nearly won. She attempted to headbutt Alice out of the way, failed, but she still managed to frighten the girls none-the-less and they quickly backed off until Lily shouted, "PROTRIFICUS TOTALAS!!!" casting the full body-bind curse on her friend. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* James paced the Common Room irritatedly. He knew they hadn't exactly asked the girls if they wanted to join them for breakfast, but he still thought they were very rude taking so long. Sirius had fallen back asleep in a chair by the fire, Remus was polishing his prefect badge and Peter was sweating over his extra Transfiguration homework that McGonnogal had set him over the summer and he still hadn't managed to do. Knowing that he would see her at breakfast he was very worried indeed. "OH FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!" James cried, smacking himself on the head in agitation over Peter and the Gryffindor Seventh Year girls. He walked over to where Peter was sitting and started to tell him the answers so Peter could pretend he had done it ages ago. James had tried shouting for the girls but it was no use, they couldn't hear him over their continued shouts of what he could make out to be "Girls" and "Fun" on many occasion. Suddenly he heard a loud shout. Sirius awoke with a jolt and Remus stopped polishing his badge. Peter just continued worrying over his unfinnished homework. "That was Lily' voice!" he cried, running up the stairs to the girls dormitories. He was half way up the stairs when, legs still kicking madly in all dirrections, he slid helter-skelter-style down what appeared to be a long slide. Sirius fell about laughing at him and Remus said raising his eyebrows, "I've seen Sirius caught out doing that late at night on many occassions." When Sirius gave him a look he added, "When I've been returning from my Prefect duties!" It was James turn to laugh - his worries of Lily in trouble dissapearing briefly. A loud thud was heard from somwhere above them and then shouts of, "Lily! I'm in the bathroom after you!!!" James exchanged looks with Sirius and Remus before saying, through gritted teeth, "Let's go." They left the Common Room without another word, Peter running after them, totaly abandoning his Tranfiguration essay. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lily sat at the Gryffindor table with her friends fifteen minutes later, looking thoroughly out of breath. She quickly piled on as much food as she could onto her plate and eating with a scandalous speed. When she finaly looked up from her breakfast, she spotted that she was recieving glowering looks from both Grace opposite her, and James down the opposite end of the table. "What?" she mouthed at him once she had finnished her slice of toast. He narrowed his eyes at her. She threw him a filthy look, raised her eyebrows and finished her breakfast. Professor McGonnagal arrived from her position at the staff table a few minutes later and started to hand out the Gryffindor's timetables, smiling at a few students as she went, including Lily. Lily, Alice, Grace and Amanda all had the same timetables. They arrived at Charms just as the bell rang and were greated by tiny Professor Meade, a middle-aged witch who's son, Filius Flitwick had left Hogwarts the previous year. James attempted to talk to Lily as they entered the classroom, but she ignored him. Settling in a seat between Alice and Amanda in the front row, she began to take the usual notes on "Classroom Safety". Halfway through the lesson, Lily recieved a note from none other than James Potter. "You completely ignoredme back there. What's up?" it read "I expected better of you James Potter. I believed your little speech yesterday on the train and I fell for it. Throwing me filthy looks for no reason at breakfast!! I expected better of you." she wrote quickly, shielding the note with her hand so Alice, who was attempting to read what she had written out of the corner of her eye, couldn't see. Mere seconds later, she recieved another note from him. "Wait a minute. WHAT?" She just ignored him. When their were ten minutes to go before the end of the lesson, Prof.Meade stepped out of the room to talk to Professor Slughorn about something. James took the opportunity to race accross the room the Amanda and whisper, "Swap?" pointing to his seat next to Sirius two rows behind them. Sirius patted the seat and winked at her, before she whispered, "O.K." Lily through her the dirtiest look she could muster, Amanda blowing her a kiss in return. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Sooooooo.........how bout some feedback people?!?! plzplzplz ![]() ![]() I know that post was probably quite borin but u can always just tell me that!!!

"Soooooooo....why exactly aren't you talking to me?" James asked her, with a bewildered expression on his face.
Lily carried on with her notes, acting like she couldn't hear what he was saying "Evaaaaaaans.......helooooooooo," he whispered, as Prof. Meade had just stepped inside the room. When she still didn't answer he leaned closer so he was right beside her ear and whispered, "Earth to Evans. I repeat, Earth to Evans! Uh-oh, I think we have some kind of communication problem here, CAN YOU HERE MEEEEEE?!?! Uh-oooooooh - Houston, we have a problemo!" *~*LiLy'S pOv*~* Lily smirked. He was being so immature, but he reminded her of an old muggle movie she had seen once before with her dad. Remembering that day, she began to smile, everything had been normal then and they had been happy. Well, her and Petunia were friends then, anyway. For a brief moment, she was grateful to him for making her remember that and wondered if she was over-reacting a bit. Anyway she wasn't going to back down now, especially to him.; "No way!" she thought, "He can sweat it out for a while." *~*EnD pOv*~* "Listen Lil's, I'm sorry for whatever I'm supposed to have done this time, better?" When she didn't even look up at him, he added in a more serious tone, "Listen, can't you just tell me what I'm supposed to of done to you?" When she finaly looked up, she saw that his head had been right next to hers, looking up at her from where he was resting his head on the desk. For some reason, she blushed. "You gave me funny looks at the breakfast table," she said with her hand over her mouth, attempting tho hide their conversation from Prof. Meade and horrified that her words sounded so childish. James looked as if he was about to laugh. "I gave you funny looks at the breakfast table? he whispered, immitating her voice and laughing, "Like when?" "Like when I first came down!" she hissed, "You were all ....." imitating the faces James had pulled at her. (Picture norrowing your eyes real um, narrow) James let a burst of very loud laughter escape his lips. The whole class turned around and James quickly turned his laughter into a coughing fit, Lily playing along and thumping him hard on the back. Apparently satisfied, the class got back to their notes and Professor Meade suggested that James conjure himself a drink. Once James had stopped laughing he said, "Friends Evans?" "Friends," she answered, rolling her eyes "Well my fair lady, I shall have to love you and leave you as I have to go and rescue another fair maiden from the depths of despair, a.k.a, being the new object of Sirius's desire," he said pompously, lifting the back of her hand to his lips and kissing it, he watched her blush slightly for a second, before running over to seat beside a very disgruntled looking Sirius. Lily had barely enough time to finish asking Amanda about how it had gone over by Sirius, before she recieved yet another note from (guess who ) James."By the way, when I said Amanda was a fair maiden I didn't mean, of course, that she was nearly as fair than you." Amanda, who was reading over her shoulder said, "Nice." *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* When they got out of class a few minutes later Amanda ran up to where James was standing (wathing Lily would ya believe lol ) and punched him in the arm."Wh-?" James asked, rubbing at his arm. "That, is for saying that Lily was fairer than me," she said with a hurt look on her face and walking back to her friends. "She's a fiesty one, that Amanda," Peter could be heard saying to his fellow Marauders. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lessons that morning passed by quickly, on her way back from her Ancient Runes class Lily passed the Marauders who, strangely enough, were coming back from the library. Sirius wolf-whistled at her when she walked passed them. Turning around to face them as she walked she gave him a "don't mess with me I've got PMS" look before carrying on to the great Hall where she was meeting her friends for lunch. "OI, EVANS!!" James shouted from one of the moving staircases behind her. She turned around, embarrassment showing clearly on her face as people stopped to stare. "POTTER!! STOP SHOUTING IN THE HALLS!!!!!" she screamed back up at him "WHY?" "BECAUSE I'M HEAD GIRL AND I SAY SO!!" "WELL I'M HEAD BOY!!" "I AM A-" "MISS EVANS AND MISTER POTTER!!! SHUUUUUUUUUT UP!" Prof. Lupos roared at them from his Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. Jame started laughing and Lily turned bright red before saying, "I'm sorry Professor - it won't happen again," to his retreating back. The door shut with a bang. Lily winced before she decided to carry on to the Great Hall. "EVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!!" Came the shout from above her, "WHAT!?!?" she screamed before, remebering her promise, she whispered, "what?" through gritted teeth. "WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME?" he bellowed "NO!!!!!!!!" *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Plz read and reviw and tell me if you like it. So yeaaaaah..... HEY
![]() ![]() just wanna say thanx to all my reviewers young and old........even though this has only been up for about 2 weeks lolz sorry i havent updated in a few days school is so freakin ARRRRRGH they give us so much hwk *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Hogwarts was now into its second week of term and the students were finding the build up of homework extremely stressful. They were completely bewildered at how they ever managed to cope last year and they often blamed it on the "Stupid teachers who lead lame lives and just wanted to ruin theirs because they were simply better." Lily sat on her bed in the girls dorm on Tuesday evening, the others were all downstairs in the common room and every no and again she was bombarded with questions like, "Lily what made Trevor the Terrible invade Norfolk in ......" and more exasperated ones such as, "Lil's.......pleeeeeease tell me the answer I'm DYING here.........PLEASE!!". Lily was reading some of her old diary entries, simply because she had nothing better to do as she had finished all of her homework and wasn't prepared to do someone else's. She was surprised at how often Jame's name seemed to crop up in her diary, and was laughing at all the different incidents were they had fought- and sometimes even dueled. She was amazed at some of the things that he had done and she had managed to forget all about, like the time when he had turned her hair green when she said she was too busy to attend the Gryffindor v Hufflepuff match, calling her a "Slytherin in diguise". The charm only lasted about five minutes, as once she had realised what he had done she corrected it immediately. She laughed when she remembered how she had turned the whole Gryffindor Boy's Dormitary green and silver in revenge. That was in Third Year of course. They, well.......Lily wouldn't dream of doing those sort of pranks now, even James would probably label anyone who did the same "Amatuers" and refuse point blank that he had ever done it himself. Other memories weren't so fondly remembered, however, like an incident in Fith Year down by the lake, when James, with some help from Sirius, had tormented Severus Snape infront of the whole school. Lily believed that incidents like these were cruel and sucked the whole fun out of Hogwarts. She thought at times like these how some people were so ignorant that a war was going on and, instead of trying to prepare themselves for what lay ahead, started their own petty battles. Lily didn't think that she had ever forgiven The marauders, James especially, for incidents like these and wasn't sure if she ever will. She reminded herself constantly to keep James and his friends at arms length until she knew that she could fully trust them to be true friends to her. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* At about seven o'clock, Lily decided it was safe to go down into the common room. She was surprised at how many people were crowded in there and more so at how hot it was, the fire was blazing and as soon as she stepped inside she felt the heat rush from her fingers all the way to her toes. She laughed when she saw some First Year girls sitting down infront of the fire in their pyjamas, doing their homework and one even showing another how to toast marshmallows on it like muggles. It took Lily a while before she found her friends. Alice was lying down on one of the squishy couches with her feet resting on Franks' lap. He kept trying to push her off but Alice wa being stuborn and in the end he gave up and started laughing at the smugly satisfied look on Alice's face. Remus was losing his normaly balanced temper with Peter, who he was trying to help with his Ancient Runes essay. "I don't know why you even took Ancient Runes, Worms," James said from where he was slouched in an armchair watching Alice and Frank with a look of disgust on his face, "I mean you've never exactlt been the brightest thingy in the box." "My mum wants me to learn the proper history of our world," Peter replied, scrathing his head. "I'm bored," James said, seeing Lily over on the other side of the room and anxiously ruffling up his hair and taking out his beloved snitch from his jeans pocket. "Yeah, me too," Sirius replied, following James's gaze over to where Lily had been joined by Amanda and Grace, "Watch this Prongsie!" he whispered and started to walk over to where the girls were standing. James looked up, seeing that he was being watched by the First years by the fire, he gave them a quick grin and turned his attention back to Sirius who had now joined Lily, Grace and Amanda. James pocketed his snitch, not noticing one of the First Year girls falling off her chair when he smiled at her. Sirius had now draped his arm around Amanda and was whispering something in her ear. Grace's eyebrows had risen way past her hair line, before she walked over to the other Seventh years shaking her head and laughing, before sitting down next to James. Aice sat up straight, removing her feet from Frank's lap before saying in a shocked voice,"Oh. My. Goodness," before bursting out laughing and sitting on the arm of Grace's chair to get a better view. (lol!i know - the pervs!! ) "What's he saying to her James? And more importantly, what is he doing?" "What's she doing?" Alice added "I have no idea!" James said highly amused at something, "She's practically begging Lily to stay - look!" Sure enough, Lily had made a move to follow Grace after exchanging a very shocked look with Amanda. Amanda however had other ideas, grabbing hold of Lily's elbow as she made to leave, clearly unsure as whether she wanted to be left alone with Sirius or not. Sirius was watching Lily aswell, but she had finally had enough however when Sirius squeezed Amanda's ***. She almost ran over to where the rest of the Seventh Years were sitting, shared one look with the rest of them and burst out laughing. Amanda wasn't amused, however, especially now that the whole common room was watching. As soon as Sirius's hand touched her derrière, (bum lolz) she slapped him in the face and stalked over to where the rest of them were sitting. She folded her arms and demanded of them all, clearly disturbed, "Well? What's so funny?" They all burst out laughing, except James, who remained quiet until Lily asked him why he was so quiet all of a sudden. He paused, doing his best to keep a straight face, before saying, "I'm trying to decide who's face was the funniest, yours, Amanda's or Pads'." They all immediately started to argue over who's expression was the funniest until they were silenced by Sirius, who came bounding over. "Well?" he asked James, obviously doing his best to keep a straight face. "Priceless." Sirius let out his bark of a laugh before saying, "It beats that day when you asked Lily out twenty three times by far!" "Twenty-five." Lily said, rolling her eyes at him. Sirius finally noticed that Amanda was giving him a very hurt look before adding, "Sooooooooreeeeeeey 'Mand, but at least I now know how you feel 'bout me!" "I absolutely do not!" she exclaimed, adding when even Remus raised his eyebrows at her, "I WAS IN SHOCK!" *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Sorry not much happened in that chapter, but I'm trying to build all their relationships up s.l.o.w.l.y ![]() Anyway, thanx for all the great feedback I've been recieving, but please all the other people who have read this REVIEW. Even if you're not a memeber it still lets you post as Guest..............I think *huggles* the feedback link is above somewhere x x

Amanda was still ranting and raving about Sirius this, and Sirius that and about how she could never like him half an hour later in the Girls' Dorm. "I mean, who does he think he's kidding?" she asked the room from where she was lying on Lily's bed. For some reason Amanda rarely sat on her own bed, except for at night, she seemed to like everyone else's much better.
"'Mand, give it a rest. We know you like him. The more you go on about him the more we know you do. Just shut up, you're starting to sound like Lily over there." Alice said exasperatedly. "At da spos oo men patie?" Lily called from where she was brushing her teeth in the bathroom, she spat the toothpaste out and repeated, "What is that suposed to mean exactly?" "Three words. Li.....ly..... he....art..... Po...tter," Grace yawned from where she was listening in on the conversation, beneath her duvet covers. "WHAT? I DO NOT!!!!!!!!" came the screach from the bathroom. "I don't get you Lily," Amanda said, quickly trying to change the subject away from her and Sirius, "James is gorgeous, smart, funny, popular, the star of the quidditch team, so obviously likes you it's embarassing and you deny you have any feelings for him whatsoever. It's so obvious that you do it's painful. I mean, how do you explain all the arguments and duels that you've managed to have with him after all these years? and how all of a sudden you're the bestest of friends because of a couple of unexplained incidents on the train over here." "Yeah? Well maybe if you payed more attention to your life then mine 'Mand, you would realise that the whole of the Gryffindor house, and probably our whole year, thinks that you're easy and will let any guy feel her a$s infront of the whole common room and get away with it, letting him brag to his friends right infront of her!" Amanda had touched a nerve. Lily was overeacting and she knew it, but pointless, so she thought, conversations about James were boring and, well, pointless. "What unexplained incidents on the train? I told you we just talked! That was it!" Lily said, walking into the bedroom. Amanda stood up. "EASY?!? IS THAT WHAT YOU REALY THINK? THAT I'M EASY?! WELL IM SORRY IF I'M NOT AS PERFECT AS YOU LIL'S , BUT I'M NO SLUT!!! JUST GO MARRY POTTER LILY AND GIVE US ALL A BREAK!!" She screamed yanking open the door to the common room, and starting to walk down the stairs. "UH-HUH! JUST GO AND CRAWL BACK INTO SIRIUS'S BED!" Lily bellowed down the stairs after her. "MAYBE I WILL!!!" Yelled Amanda's voice. From where Lily was standing, it sounded as though she was at the foot of the stairs that led to the Girls' Dorm. "AND LEAVE SIRIUS OUT OF THIS! THIS IS ABOUT ME AND YOU, NOT ANY OLD PERSON WHO'S NAME HAPPENS TO DROP INTO YOUR HEAD! ARE YOU JEALOUS OR SOMETHING?!" Amanda was trying to quickly cover up what they had just said, as she had just spotted Sirius sitting by the fire with The Marauders who, along with the rest of the Gryffindor house, were unshamefuly (sp?) listening in on their argument. "MAYBE YOU SHOULD LEAVE JAMES OUT OF THIS ASWEL THEN, SEEING THAT HE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS WHATSOEVER!!!!" Lily roared at her, previously, good friend. "OH YES HE HAS!! HE'S THE WHOLE REASON WHY YOU FLIPPED IN THE FIRST PLACE!! NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF YOU HAD JUST AGREED WITH ME THAT YOU LIKE JAMES!" "YOU KNOW YOU'RE ONLY SAYING THAT BECAUSE JAMES IS PROBABLY LISTENING RIGHT NOW!" Lily walked back into the Girls' Dorm, slamming the door with so much force it nearly broke free of it's frame, and plonked herself down on her bed. There was practically steam coming out of her ears. "Where did that come from?!?" she asked the girls, only to find that Alice was the only one left. Grace had obviously followed Amanda and was somewhere in the common room. "OH FO-" Lily began when she noticed Grace's dissapearance, but was silenced by an "Alice" look. "Calm down Lil's! What was all that about?" Alice asked, walking over and sitting down beside Lily, "Coz I know you don't like Sirius!" she added in a kind tone of voice. "I don't know! Out of nowhere. She just made me........aaaaaargh.........snap!" Lily replied, screwing up her face. "Was it something she said honey?" Alice asked as if she had all of Gods' wisdom. (Is that a saying? It just popped into my head lol )Lily gave her a "look". Alice was trying to weasle some information out of her that she didn't have to give her even if she wanted to. Yet again, she had no idea why she had suddenly turned all defensive. She was normally level-headed and tried to steer clear of arguments, especialy with her friends. "Well, maybe that isn't all true," a tiny voice said at the back of her mind. Lily shook her head, trying to shake the voice from out of her mind, knowing what it would say next. Probably something to do with a certain Potter. Lily's last thought before she fell back asleep was, "You're only thinking like that because of what Amanda just said.......just go to sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Sleeeeeeep." She didn't fall asleep as fast as she hoped, and being forced to pretend that she was asleep when Amanda and Grace came back up wasn't something that Lily Evans liked doing. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Sorry if that post didn't make sense - I'm just really tired and it's been a long day! ![]() Anyway please review, the links one of the posts above ![]()

Lily woke up the next morning to an empty dorm room. She was grateful that Amanda, and she supposed Grace, weren't there but was a bit put out that Alice wasn't. Surely she hasn't sided with Amanda aswel?! She thought to herself. Throwing back the curtains surrounding her bed, she walked sleepily to the window were, thankfully, the curtains had been left closed. As she opened them she was almost blinded by the sudden bright light that filled her room. When Lily rgained her sight, she put on her dressing gown, not fooled by the Hogwarts weather that was usualy not as it seemed. Although it was sunny outside, she could tell there was a frostiness in the air that told her that Summer was on it's way out, to be replaced by Autumn. (*groan*
like here Lily opened the cutains on her other windows, getting a surprise when she looked through the final, largest one. She watched as not two, but three owl's flewtowards her. To Harriets' disgust, she opened the window and let them circle her room before swooping down onto her bed. Wow, I must be realy late, I've missed the morning post! the voice in her head exclaimed. Praisin God that it was Saturday and not a school day, she checked the muggle watch that her mother and father had gave her the Christmas before last, when she was a mere Fifth Year. GOODNESS!!! It's one o'clock!! she thought, No wonder there isn't anybody here! She let the owl's back out of the dorm before ripping up the first letter. It read: Morning sleepyhead!!! I've gone to breakfast with Frank because I'm absolutely staring! Amanda and Grace aren't speaking to me either for some unknown reason to me, so don't be too upset that they won't be speaking to you either. Don't be too mad at me for letting you sleep in, I heard you up and down all last night, unable to get to sleep so I thought I'd give you some sleep! Sirius and James offered to give you a wake up call, but I said no. What a great best friend you have! I know, you don't need to say it, I'm amazing. James was worryingly enthusiatic about it, so.............er yeah. Anyway, if I don't see you at lunch I'll be in the library, probably with Frank, so I'll see you there if you if you want! Please do, we have that stupid Potions thing to do and I could realy use your help! Alice xxx Lily smiled at the relief of her best friend remaining loyal to her. She knew it sounded predictable for her to be thinking it now, but Alice had always been her bestest friend. Lily also smiled at the weird prospect of getting a wake-up call from Sirius and James. They were annoying, but she knew that they were good guys realy. I wonder what they had instore for me?!?! Thank God for Alice! The voice in her head laughed. She tore open the next letter, wondering why she was so popular all of a sudden. Then she recognised the elaborate seal on the envelope and the annoyingly swirly handwriting of Professor Slughorn. Miss Evans, I would be delighted if you would join me tonight in my office for our first Slug Cub meeting of the year. I have somebody I would love for you all to meet. Congratulations on becoming Head Girl! Yours, Professor H. Slughorn Lily groaned. Although she actually rather enjoyed the "Slug Club" as it was sickeningly called, Lily just could't be bothered with it tonight. What with Head rounds tomorrow night with James and the Hogwarts prefects, Lily could tell it wasn't going to be the relaxing weekend that she had hoped for all the previous week. Although she enjoyed the actual meetings themselves, Lily hated being one of "Sluggys' favourites" as they were often called. She thought the whole thing was predjudiced (sp?) and not all that different to rascism, which she was all too familiar with being muggleborn. Her stomach rumbled as she unravelled the last piece of parchment that she had been sent. She punched it, silently cursing Alice for reminding her, and her stomach especialy, that she had missed breakfast and, if she wasn't careful, lunch aswell. Recognising James' familar print her heart raced excitedly for some reason. Why is he writing to me? she thought, Get a grip Lily, honestly, you didn't do this when Alice wrote to you. You need some food girl ....fast! Heya Evans, McGonagall (crossed out, no this bit in brackets isn't part of the letter to all you stupid people out there ) Professor M. McGonagall, wanted me to remind you that we have rounds tomorrow night. I told her that you would already know, and that you would be the one reminding me about a thousand times, but she's not bothered. Anyway, she saw you weren't at breakfast so she wanted me to go and check on you, but I was rudely turned away by Alice when Sirius and myself offerd to give you a wake-up call. Honestly - Some people! This is kinda awkward writing this letter by the way, coz Prof. McGonagall is standidng over me making sure that I write this to you, I'm sure if she wasn't ateacher she would be saying "Hi". Anyway, I've gone off track again. What was it? Oh yeah, are you gonna go to the Slug Club tonight? Of course you are - stupid question! How do I know it's tonight I can hear you wondering! Well, dearest Lily, I too have been invited along to the Slug Club with fair Sirius. He heard I was Quidditch Captain and Head Boy so........you know the rest. Oh yeah, he saw Sirius cast two leg-locking jinxes at the same on two First Years, old Sluggy was well impressed. Don't worry Lily dearest! I rescued the ickle firsties and performed the counter-jinx, telling them to "run along now!" just like you would! The I "Petrificus Totalus"'d Sirius aswel to get him back. See you later, James. Smiling to herself, Lily went and got dressed at record-breaking speed, reaching Lunch just in time at twenty past one, with ten minutes to spare. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* HEY!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry I havent updated in a while, but i've been out all weekend I know that was probably boring, but I needed to get it out the way anyway, please post some feedback, coz I know there are some real lazy people out there who are reading my story but not giving any feedbck! c'mon guys!! ceds_gurl x x

***MASSIVE HUGS*** to everybody who has reviewed my story so far!!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lily and Alice had been sitting in the Library for the past two hours doing their Potions homework, Frank had long since abandoned them to hang out with his friends. Lily didn't realy know Frank that well, even though he spent alot of time in the library that hadn't realy talked that much until now. Even though Frank was a Gryffindor, his friends were all in Ravenclaw. He was friends with the Marauders, of course, as they shared a dorm but they hadn't ever realy connected. Lily suspected that he had always gotten on well with Remus, which had made her wonder why Remus had chosen to be a Marauder and how Frank had been chosen, like her, to be a Gryffindor over a Ravenclaw. Lily was actually very proud of Alice for choosing such a nice guy to be her boyfriend, she was surprised at how well they had gotten on and pleased at how well he had treated Alice, unlike some guys she knew. "Lily," interrupted Alice's voice, making Lily look up from the latest book that she was reading,"Can't We All Just Get Along? Muggles and Wizards; an insight on the separate lives we lead. Are we realy all that different?" "Alice," Lily replied, propping her head up on her shoulders, signalling to her friend that she had her utmost attention. "Whaddyafinkoffrank?" Alice blurted out, the colour rising to her cheeks. "Sorry?" Lily giggled "What do you think of Frank?" Alice repeated, "I mean, as boyfriend material? Do you like him?" She added quickly, nervously playing with one of her blonde curls. "Of couse I like him!" Lily said, smiling at her, "He's sweet, clever and he treats you right, so why shouldn't I?" Alice looked like a humungous (sp?) weight had been lifted from her shoulders and slumped down onto the table. Looking up she grinned at Lily before saying, "I know I've been going out with him since the last day of Sixth Year, but I havn't spoken to you since and I've wanted to know what you think all Summer long!" Lily laughed. It wasn't like Alice to get all paranoid over a guy. "She must realy like him," Lily thought to herself. "Well he makes you happy doesn't he?" when Alice nodded she continued, "Well that's good enough for me!" Alice got up and gave her a huge hug, before saying, "Well now that's over and done with, I'm gonna go back up to the Common Room to get out of these clothes before Dinner.Honestly, I have no idea why I chose to wear this T-Shirt!" Laughing as she gathered up her things, she added, "Oh and I'm gonna meet up with Frank straight after Dinner, seeing as you have that Slugs Club Meeting to go to." Lily smiled as she watched Alice leave the Library, before returning to her book. It wasn't long though, fifteen minutes in fact, before Alice came skidding back in. Obviously unchanged and out of breath, Alice walked briskly over to where Lily was and sat down in the seat that she had sat in only fifteen minutes before. "GUESS WHAT!" Alice announced to the whole room. She was hastily shushed by Professor. Meade, who was watching over the Library while Madam Prince was away at St. Mungos, visiting her sister, who had suspectedly been attacked by one of the rising Dark Lord's, calling himself "Lord Voldemort", followers whom were rumoured to be called "Death Eaters." "Guess what I've just found out young lady?!" Alice whispered excitedly "Oh. No. What's she gone and found out now?" the voice in Lily's head moaned. "Is it something to do with me?" Lily asked curiously, not realy knowing if she wanted to knw the answer or not. "Yes!!!" came the enthusiatic reply "Is it something good that I would want to know?" "Yeaaaaaaaaaah................." "Well what is it then?!?!" Lily whispered impatiantly "I just heard from Sirius, who heard from James who is sulking in their dorm, who heard from Remus, who heard from Grace, who heard from none other than Frank Longbottom, who heard from the man himself that........." "Alice!!!!!!!! SPILL!" "Jean-Piere Delacour likes you!!! He's going to ask you out in Sluggy's Club!!!" Alice squealed. She grinned so wide that her eyes screwed up. "SAY WHAT!!" "Lady's if you are unable to keep quiet in a library then I suggest you leave! This is your final warning!" Prof. Meade hissed from a nearby bookshelf. "It's true!" Alice whispered to a shocked looking Lily. "Realy? You're not making this up?" Lily asked, wide eyed. "No, apparently he's liked you for ages but thought that you had a thing for James Potter which, incidently, is a common train of thought to everyone else in Hogwarts." Alice said, slightly raising her eyebrows, "Except me of course!" she added hastily as she saw the look Lily gave her. When Lily didn't say anything Alice got up again and walked towards the exit, "Anyway I've really got to go this time, I said I would meet Frank in an hour and I'm still not changed or anything!" When Alice had left, Lily's brain began to work into overdrive. She had had a tiny bit of a crush on Jean-Piere ever since he had transferred from Beauxbatons in the middle of their Sixth Year after an argument that had broke out between his parents and the Beauxbatons Headmistress, who apparently went by the name of "Madame Maxine". Although she had never done anything about it. What she needed to know right now, however, was if those feelings were still there. Suddenly her thoughts travelled to James sulking in his dorm, she felt a bit sorry for him because, after all, he was one of her friends. Then those thoughts turned to anger and hummiliation at the thought of the whole school and, probably James himself, believing that she had feelings for Potter. "Do I? No of course you don't!" She thought to herself. Maybe she would give Jean-Piere a chance after all, "I mean it's my last chance, my last year, right?" she thought, "I'm not going to pass up the chance of dating a, probably, really nice guy. Anyway, what's my other option? Spending another year being told that I like James and doing none other than contemplating that thought, sizing him up against Jean-Piere and the other guys that, I suspect, are similar to him? No way! Anyway, who is everyone to tell me my feelings?! I'm gonna show them what Lily Evans feels, all of them; James, the other Marauders, Grace......Amanda and all the rest of them!" the voice in her head ranted fiercely. "But what do I really know about Meester Delacour?" The voice said. It was true that she hadn't ever actually spoken to Jean-Piere before, and all that she knew about him was that he had previously dated many of the Hogwarts girls, was a Ravenclaw and hung out with Frank Longbottom. "Oh my God Lily! Why do you have to make everything so complicated?!?! Go out with the guy!" she muttered to herself. At that moment, thoughts of James came into her head as if settling the matter. She wouldn't let herself be brainwashed into liking James. She would go out with Jean-Piere Delacour. "Talking to yourself Evans? First sign of madness...." James's voice said unenthusiasticaly. "Speak of the devil!" Lily thought to herself, turning around to where the sound had come from, expecting to see James standing there. "James?!?" "Over here." Lily whirled around to see James sitting next to her. "How did y-?!" James laughed, but Lily noticed that his eyes remained cold. "So," he said simply, when Lily didn't reply he tried again, "You're going to go out with the Jean-Piere prick then?" he said harshly "Do you even know him?" Lily replied defensively "Do you?" "That's none of your business!" she hissed "The guy's a prick Lil's. He's a user. He's used almost every girl in Hogwarts and now he's going to use you!" James hissed back "You seem to get on with him well enough at the Slug Club!" Lily replied heatedly. Brushing her comment aside James whispered, "Listen Lily, do you realy want to go out with him? I mean doesn't it bother you that the whole school found out that he was going to ask you out before you did?!" "Wh-!?" Lily began, but she was cut off by James. "Tell me you honestly don't feel anything for me at all Lily," James said quietly, looking into her eyes and grabbing hold of her hand "James........I........" Lily stuttered, blushing, his face was mere inches away from hers and she couldn't bring herself to look away. "Say it!" She couldn't. She didn't know why. She stuttered a few more times, but faltering under his intense gaze. They looked at each other for ages until she did the only thing that felt right at that moment and kissed him. It took about thirty seconds for her brain to catch up with her. She broke away, suddenly realising what she had just done. "Oh My God! I'm so sorry! I don't know what came over me!" She cried. "What?" James replied, a dazed expression on his face. "We're friends James! Just friends! We can be good friends - but that's.......that's it!" she said, flinging her things into her ba=g and feeling close to tears. "Lily. Just calm down. You're the one who kissed me!" James said, clearly confused at what had just happened. "I certainly did not!!" she cried James stood up next to her and grabbed onto her arm. "Lily ......don't go......." he muttered. "I'm sorry........erm Slug Club.......got to go......I'll........er.......see you later James," with that Lily Evans fled from the library, realising that James was also attending Slug Club only when she entered Professor. Slughorn's office with two minutes to spare. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Hey ![]() hope u like ![]() feedback link's in my sig - i know, aren't I organised!! ![]()

Just wanna say thanx to everyone who's read my story so far!!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ENTRY TWO....DEUX.....DUE.....ZWEI... Had a bad day. Jean-Piere Delacour likes Lily and from what I gathered, well listened in on, she likes him aswel. This is nicht gut. I just don't understand it. I really thought that she might like me. Obviously not. No, of course she does - she just musn't of realised it yet. God, I hope she hurry's up - at least I'm not big on marrying young. This is just a minor set back, a tiny blip in the plan. Who am I kidding?! Not myself, that's for sure. I'm so confused. I mean, the girl kissed me - LILY EVANS KISSED ME! Then she pulled away and she didn't even need to say anything, I knew by her face - she regretted it. I was more confused then embarrassed really, but nethertheless I skipped Slug Club - I just couldn't face her.Your depressed writer person, James Potter. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lily sat and watched Professor Slughorn talking animatedly about his latest conversations with important members of the Ministry and such. Unfortunately, Alfred Bumbles whom Professor Slughorn had invited to talk to them about his job as the Vice-President of St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, was unwell and was having a brief stay at the said hospital. This dissapointed Lily, as she wished to get a job at the Hospital one day, aiming to discover cures for the different diseases, her main goal being to discover a cure for werewolf bites. She had never told anyone this before, mainly because of the predjudiced take on werewolves that her generation had. Instead, the Professor was giving them all an "exciting" insight into his private life and was treating them to major embarassment by asking them to do the same. Lily was watching the Professor, but not listening to him. It had not gone unnoticed to her that James had "accidently" managed to skip the Slug Club. Instead of being worried, Lily was guiltily relieved by this. She didn't think that she could face him right now. "What have I done?" Lily wondered to herself, "Have I completely ruined the friendship that we could of had?"Lily just didn't know what to say to James, no matter how she could say it she knew that he would be hurt. The truth was, she just didn't think that she had meant to kiss him. "Well obviously not, I made it pretty clear when I shoved him away and ran off!" Lily thought, rolling her eyes. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Ten minutes later, Lily was ready to crawl into a hole with embarrassment . Jean-Piere had stood up to say his part, right after Lily had bored them all to death by repeating the School Rules nad Regulations. He had told them about his time at Beauxbatons, his place on the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team, oh and, um - how he had a crush on Lily. When he had said this he had looked right at her, grinned and carried on - just like that, totally ignoring that Lily now resembled a tomato. Lily knew that his gesture was meant to be a sweet one, but she still couldn't help feeling slightly angry that he had practically let the whole world know his feelings for her before she had even agreed to go out with him. Now even Professor Slughorn knew. "Now, I daresay, my friends that would be a smart match," Professor Slughorn announced to the room, winking at Lily as she battled to keep her composure. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Another ten munites past. Now that Jean-Piere had finally sat down it seemed that his new goal in life was to catch Lilys' eye. There was a furious battle going on in Lilys' head. Lilys' brain was defending her pride, her heart was attacking, doing its' best to convince her, well... self, that the right thing to do was to look at Jean-Piere, who (whaddya know) was sitting opposite her on the other side of the circle that they had formed around Professor Slughorn. At last, she looked up at her and he gave her a wide smile, before she looked away again. Jean-Piere coughed loudly, making Lily look up. He looked straight at her, signaling that he wanted her attention, jerking his head in the dirrection of the door. He pointed at himself, then at her, then at the door, miming the word "After?" It took a while for Lily to catch on, recieving many exasperated looks from Jean-Piere and him getting shrugs in return. Finally, after a very exaggerated gesture from Jean-Piere, she understood. "Oooooooooooh!" she mouthed, before nodding at him. Laughing, he smiled at her again, making her blush slightly before she turned her attention back to Professor Slughorn, who was in the process of wishing them all goodnight. Winking at her, Professor Slughorn said goodbye to her personally before saying in his booming voice, "Over to you Mister Delacour!" Silently cursing Professor Slughorn, Lily made her way over to the door where Jean-Piere was waiting for her. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Sorry it was a short one plz post some feedback, the link's in my sig x x

Hey
Hope you like! No offence meant to any French people out there! Not that you are going to read anything offensive, just that I thought that I needed to put that coz some people get offended really easily! Thanx to the reviewers! Yo make my day! More More Moe reviews though pwetty plz! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lilys' heart pounded madly against her chest as she walked over to Jean-Piere. So far she had managed to look at everything in the Potions Dungeon except for her classmate waiting for her outside, she was both embarrassed and slightly aprehensive at the same time. Time seemed to stand still as she walked. "Oh my god, he keeps staring at me!" and "Oh No! I hope I'm not turning red!" were just some of the thoughts that were rushing in and out of her mind. "Calm down! You're Lily Evans! You will let nothing, absolutely nothing, faze you!" said a positive voice in her head, she thought she recognised it as her old muggle P.E teachers'. "Lily! You've like him since Sixth Year! I think you've got a right to panic!" said Alices', slightly exasperated, voice. Lily had barely had time to wonder where her own voice had gone to before she finally stopped infront of Jean-Piere. "Bonjour!" Jean-Piere said, smirking at her, "Finally, we meet properly mademoisselle Lily!" he added. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Over in the Seventh Year Gryffindor Boys' dormitories there was complete silence. This was a highly unusual sitution, the only time when there was ever quiet in the room was when there was nobody in, or when the Seventh Years were asleep. The Marauders where all sitting on James' bed. The boys were all silently fighting over who got the best look at the Marauders' Map, the extremely useful mischief making tool which they had invented in late Third Year, except for James of course, who obviously got the best view due to his feelings for Lily. The boys were watching the Head Girl and French students' conversation with anxiety. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lily was unsure whether or not the French was a joke so she just smiled at him. "You are probably wondering, or pehaps you may of 'erd," at this, Jean-Piere winked at her before continuing in his exaggereted french accent, "what ze purpose of me asking you to meet me 'ere zees evening was, no?" "Well...er, yeah," Lily said, embarassed at her feeble reply. Grabbing her hand Jean-Piere replied, "I am not one for making speeches Lily, so I will get straight to zee, er, point," Pausing for a second, Jean-Piere looked at Lily who, nodding her head at his words, seemed to give him some kind of encouragement, "Zee point is Lily, would you...argh, give me zee pleasure of accompanying moi on the next 'Ogsmeade visite?" "Oh my god! Did he just ask me out on a date?!" Lily thought. Realising that he was waiting for an answer she replied, "Are you asking me to go on a date with you Jean-Piere?" just to be on the safe side. "Oui - exactly...and? What is your answer?" "Yes, um...oui!" Lily said laughing "Um...as zee Eengleesh say...brilliant!" Lily laughed, she felt giddy, Jean-Piere had finally asked her out on a date. After a year of confused feelings she, for that moment anyway, felt sure of what - and who - she wanted. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Over in the Gryffindor Boys' Dormitories a subdued silence could, erm, not heard. (sorry, bad sentence ) James was fighting the urge to go and magically seal himself in the bathroom but, as his friends were currently present, he decided against it. "I can't believe it. With him aswell," was all James managed to say. He griited his teeth together and started to punch his pillow. "We shouldn't have watched them. It was unfair to Lily, she would never have done it to any of us, we chose to pry and we got what we deserved." "Shut it Moony!" Sirius snapped, "Nobody forced you to pry! Nobody made you fetch it from your trunk! An-" "Guys stop it! H... H...How do you think James feels?" As ever, Wormtail sounded slightly stupid, this time he was probably just startled that they had actually taken the time to stop and listen to him. He was right though, James had started to practically pound his fist into his pillow, making a loud thud where his fist was connecting with the wall behind it. "Prongs! McGonagal gonna here!" Sirius said, pulling him back and away from the pillow. James fought him off, pointing his wand at them all in a "Leave me alone" gesture, inspecting his sore-looking knuckles before getting into his bed fully clothed and pretending to fall asleep. The remaining Marauders exchanged a look before following suit. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "So...do you know what time eet iz?" Jean-Piere asked her. "Wait a moment..." Lily checked her watch, "...Yes it's...Goodness! Eleven O'Clock!" Lily exclaimed, "We need to get back to our Common Rooms! What was Professor Slughorn thinking?!" "Calm down! Eet is Okay! We will simply sneak back to our dormitories ant the Professors will be, argh... none zee wiser!" "Yes! Oh! But I'm Head Girl! What if I get caught?!" Lily said waving her hands desperately as she spoke. "Eet will be fine! Would you like me to eescort you back to your 'Ouse?" Jean-Piere offered. "No. I mean, no thank-you, it is very kind of you but we will be better off going back seperately. It will be easier for anybody to see us if there are two of us." "Yes, Okay," Grabbing hold of her arm again as she turned to leave he replied, "Wait....Will I see you tomorrow?" "Um, yeah O.K. Breakfast?" She whispered, backing away down the corridor. "Eet eez a date mademoiselle!" He said blowing her a kiss, this time Lily was sure he was deffinately exaggerating his French-ness. She smiled and waved before rushing back up the moving staircases to Gryffindor Tower, trying to be as silent as she could be and somehow managing to escape the wrath of Peeves. She couldn't wait to tell Alice! Maybe she would even apologise to Amanda and Grace especially! Nah, The whole school will find out soon anyway. Then again, "I did kind of overeact" The good voice inside her haid said, "BACK DOWN?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" The not so good one replied. Guess which one won? *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* HEY ![]() Hope you liked that post! Next updates tomorrow! Please tell me what you think even if it's one word like, good/bad. The next morning was Sunday 16th September. Why do you want to know this? Because it was Petunia Evans' sixteenth birthday of course! (I just made that up, sorry if it's the wrong date but I didn't know if J.K had told us when the actual date was
) Lily had learned to dread Petunia's Birthdays, ever since Petunias' ninth, when Lily herself had just started Hogwarts as an enthusiastic eleven year old. Lily remembered that day all too well. It had marked a turning point in her and her sisters' relationship that, it seemed, they could never go back on. It was a small, well......gesture, on Petunias' part, but all the same, it had hurt Lily very deeply indeed.*~*Seven Years Ago*~* Lily Evans was lying on her bed in the Gryffindor First Year Girls' Dormitory, writing in her diary. Every single word had, so far, been read over her shoulder by her new best friend, Alice Longbottom. Alice and herself had only known each other a couple of weeks, but already they had become firm friends, almost like sisters actually. Lily had been writing all about Petunia; how it was her Bithday, what she was probably hoping to recieve from everyone, and how they had fought the previous summer. "It's my younger sisters' Birthday today!" Lily announced to the dormitory. "We know, you've told us about it every day this week!" Grace replied exasperatedly from underneath her pillow. Lily laughed, "Sorry! It's ju-" "Good Morning to you too!" Alice interrupted, bored of Lilys' diary and taking one of Lilys' muggle magasines, leafing quickly through it before retreating back to her own bed. She recieved a small sort of grunt from Grace in reply. Lily smiled to herself - Grace had never been good at mornings. "Anyway...It" Lily said, attempting to continue where she had left off before, but she was interrupted by Alice for the second time. "Somebody's grumpy this morning!" Alice said to the lump undernesth the pillow, which seemed to be Graces' head. "ALICE!" "What?" "I AM TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING!!" "What?" "I AM T-" "I know what you are trying to do so tell me what it is already!" Lily remained silent. "What?" Lily still didn't say anything. "LILY!!!!" "I forgot," Lily mumbled. Alice rolled her eyes. "YOU WERE THE ONE WHO MADE ME FORGET!!" Seeing the expression on each others' faces they both burst out laughing. "What did you get your sister..er... what's she called again? Oh yeah....What did you get Petunia as a Birthday present? Have you owled it to her yet?" Alice called from her neighbouring four poster bed. "I got her two tickets to see The Beatles in concert. They're her favourite band! I got them ages ago, they sell out so quickly! Yeah, I owled them off to her last ni-" "WOW!!!! I LOVE the Beatles!" Alice exclaimed. For a moment, Lily had wondered what Alice was going on about, then she remembered, how could she of forgotten? Alice was a muggleborn aswell. "Is she going to take you with her?" "Well I did hope she would, we used to be so close, more like twins than being two years apart, but it's seemed that she practically hates me all summer - ever since I got my Hogwarts letter," Lily felt suddenly very deflated, she hated not speaking to her sister, but she didn't understand why Petunia had to be so jealous of her. Alice came and sat opposite her on the bed. "Don't worry about it Lil's, you'll definately make up now - who would say no to tickets to The Beatles?" Normally, Alice had the almost mother-like ability to cheer anyone up. Except now. Lily knew who would be able to say no to those tickets - Petunia. Petunia absolutely adored The Beatles, but she was as stubborn and as quick tempered as Lily was, she would do anything to win an argument. Lily had a nasty, sudden sinking feeling in her stomach. She suddenly regretted very much that she had spent so much of her pocket money on Petunias' present, especially as Harriet, her new owl, tapped on her window. Tap...Tap....Tap...taptaptaptaptaptaptaptap Grace sat bolt upright, having a bit of trouble as she seemed to have forgotten that she had previously been underneath her bedcovers, but the effect working none the less, "Somebody let that bloody owl in!! For God' sake!!" Lily walked slowly over to the window, she was nervous at what the letter might say, but more to annoy Grace than anything else. She unfastend the window catch and stood back, holding her arm out slightly for Harriet to land on. Lily wasn't too surprised that Harriet flew right past her, Alice and herself had brought up a large stack of toast from Breakfast and the remains had been left in the wastepaper basket in the corner of the bedroom. Harriet may look delicate, but she sure had one hell of an appetite! Lily felt bad that she hadn't spent much time with Harriet since she had got her, she quietly vowed to dedicate her evening to her snowy owl. Alice laughed at the owl pecking at the toast in the bin. "Hey Lily! Looks like Petunia got her present!" Alice said smiling, "Wait.....you've got a letter! Must be good news! I can sense that there is a Beatles ticket in there!" Excited, Lily ran over to Harriet who, putting up a bit of a fight, eventually let her retrieve her letter. Lily ripped it open, recognising the muggle envelope. She shook it upside down, hoping that she hadn't built her hopes up to let them be crushed again. When no ticket appeared, just a plain looking letter, she got the sinking feling in her stomach again. Noticing that Petunia had neglected to use her Christmas stationary, Lily unfolded the letter aphrehensively. "Goodness gracious Lily! The girl is barely nine! What can she do?" She thought despairingly. WIth a bit of her hope restored, Lily started to read her sistres' childish scrawl. Lily. Thank you for the gift. I will be taking Annette from my class in school. Don't think that this makes any difference to our relationship. I mean what I said. We are no longer friends, barely sisters. You belong in your world, I belong in the real one. Petunia. Lily burst into tears. She couldn't believe that her nine year old sister had told her that they were now barely related. She threw the letter at Alice who had cam running over to see what was the matter. As Alices' eyes skimmed the few sentences that her sister had bothered to write her, Lilys' small body began to fill with anger. She wiped her tears. This was it. No more. "Gooooooooood Morning Everybody!" Amanda said brightly. *~*End Memory - Back to Story*~* Lily lay on her bed, she had sent Petunia a card and had decided to send her a quill that she had purchased on the last Hogsmeade visit before the Summer Holidays, she had hardly used it and doubted Petunia would either. Her thoughts that morning had been widely varied. She had thought of her friends; Alice, James, Remus, the rest of the Marauders, Jean-Piere, Grace, Amanda, her family, her lessons, the Slytherins, the upcoming Prefect Meeting and her head Girl duties. Her thoughts had briefly been on James' reaction to her and Jean-Pieres' relationship, but then decided to put it to the back of her mind. She had decided to ignore her guilt on the matter, it had nothing to do with James, but now that they were friends she cared more if he was hurt by her actions. True, she had never before intentionally set out to upset him, but deep down she knew that she had probably done so in the past and now, present. Lily walked over to Harriets' empty cage, deciding to put more owl treats in for when she arrived back from her job. Along with petunias' card and gift she had written letters to her parents, her grandmother and her cousin Daisy. Looking around her room, Lily groaned when sh found that the rest of her friends were still asleep. For some reason, this made Lily feel a bit mischievious, she decided to play a muggle trick on the girls, but make it a bit more advance with magic. Lily crept over towards the centre of the room, trying to be as silent as she possibly could - she felt like a common muggle criminal! Lily summoned three empty water glasses from the bathroom to her, filling them with water and making them hover a metere above each girls' head, one by one. Lily burst into fits of silent giggles. But when should she do it? Deciding that she couldn't wait any longer, Lily muttered the jinx and watched in slow motion as the glasses tipped out their contents. She saw the smooth ripple of water drop in an almost vertical line, feeling the coldness of it as if it had fallen onto her. She heard Grace gasp, Alice shreak and saw Amanda shudder as if a ghost had passed through her. All three of them were drenched from their hair to their necks. Lily ran. She flung open the dormitery door thankful that she had already dressed. The door closed with a snap. She just heard Graces' shouts of, "LILY EVANS!!! CURSE THE DAY SOMEBODY DECIDED TO MAKE YOU A WITCH!" Lily collapsed into the nearest armchair and began to laugh uncontrollably. She thought that she was alone until she heard two very amused voices behind her. "Looks like somebody's been naughty Padfoot!" "Looks like they made fwiends again Prongsie old boy!" "Not quite - I think that I just made it wose!" "Oh dear oh dear! Let me go and get Remus, I swear, he's not even here and he's - argh! You know what he was doing when we left him? Checking his shirts for creases." James and Sirius exchanged knowing looks before Sirius crossed the common room in a few easy srides and bounded up the stairs to his dormitery. Lily was left with James, a thought that she wasn't too keen on. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Hey ![]() Hope you like! Plzplzplz review! Links in my sig x x

Lily didn't really know how to handle the present situation.. She hadn't spoken to James since their "moment" in the library, and they had to do their Head Girl and Boy rounds together tonight. She didn't want it to be awkward, after all, the rounds lasted for three hours. More still, she didn't know whether or not she should tell James straight out about Jean-Piere or let somebody else tell him instead. Even though she knew it would be better for her to tell him herself, the thought of somebody else doing it for her seemed much more appealing.
"Oh stop it Lily, since when have you ever backed away from anything? You don't owe James Potter anything. It's not your problem if he can't handle you having a boyfriend - " Lily lost her train of thought when she noticed James looking at her from the corner of her eye. She had been "intently gazing out of the window" for the past five minutes, a probably obvious excuse for not looking at James. "Just hurry up and tell him, Lily," she thought. It was now or never. She had to tell him about Jean-Piere and apologise about the previous evening so she, both of them, wouldn't have to spend the whole evening walking on eggshells. She looked up. James hastily turned away. She had to do it. "I....er....um....I...." she began patheticaly. James looked up. She saw the hurt flash accross his face before he quickly disguised it with an interested look. Lily took a deep breath. "I, um, I got your letter," she said in a falsely confident voice. "LILY!!!!" she thought, "Great. You blew it. You had your chance to tell him and you blew it." "What?" "When you, er, owled me yesterday," as soon as she said the words, she realsised how lame they sounded. "Oh. That's good." he replied, nodding his head as he said the words and giving her a wry smile. When she could think of nothing else to say Lily returned the gesture, nodding and smiling at him. "I know about you saying yes to Delacour." "Really? That's, er, good," she said in a higher voice than usual. *~*James' Pov*~* "Yep," he replied, tapping his fingers slightly on the arm of his chair. "Er, how exactly?" He thought she sounded a bit wary, nervous, perhaps. James stopped tapping. Lily was watching him closely. "Darn! he thought. he had forgotten that she didn't know about the Marauders Map. He ruffled up his hair, stalling for time. "Erm, what did you say?" *~*End Pov*~* "How do you know about me agreeing to got to Hogsmeade with Jean-Piere? Lily narrowed her eyes. Knews didn't travel that fast in Hogwarts. She knew that Breakfast wasn't even serve for another half an hour, so how could he possibly know? She seemed more confident now, for some reason. It was probably because the conversation was now focused on him, and not her. *~*James' Pov again*~* "Oooh thaaat! Sorry, I thought you asked me if my House-Elf wore socks! Which er - anyway," Lily was pretty scary when she wanted to be and right now James thought it was best to avoid any shouting matches, Lily could wake up the whole house on a bad day, "Er...my good friend Frank told me last night. Of course he knew, he's Delacours' best mate!" "Traitor" he thought to himself, but inwardly he let out a sigh of relief. That should please her. "But it was eleven o'clock when Jean-Piere left me." Oops. "Yeah, but Frank was talking to Filch about something," James replied, rowling his eyes at her. "Let me get this straight. Frank was out after hours talking to Filch about something?" "Uh huh." "But he's a Prefect! I need to have a word with him. Out of bed after hours and probably being told off by Filch! I don't know!" James had been nodding along in agreement when she added, "And I don't know what you think you're doing. A rule-breaker has just come forward and confessed to you and you let him go without even a warning! You're Head Boy Potter! I hoped that you were going to take this seriously!" Oh no. She's ranting again. "First of all, my name is James, secondly of course I gave him a warning! Verbal of couse." "I very much doubt that, James." "Well, if you must know,I didn't give him a warning because I thought, that way, it would be of more benefit to you." "Oops, better make up an excuse - quick!" he thought. "How did you manage to think that one up?" "Well, If I tried to challenge Frank, a.k.a your best friends boyfriend, about being out of bed after hours don't you think that he might of asked why you were? Maybe he might of told on you in return, since he knows that you were aswell. Then, I would have to live up to my Head Boymanship and give you detention aswell. Now we wouldn't want that would we Lil's?" James said all this very fast, but overall he was very pleased with his excuse. Now Lily wouldn't be able to confront Frank about being out of bed. This was very good as far as James was concerned, seeing as he had made it all up. *~*End Pov*~* Lily gaped, speechless. He had responded just like she would of if their roles were reversed. Lily was struggling to come up with a comeback that didn't sound like, "Yeah, Wellllll" so was greatly relieved when Sirius and Remus entered the common room, followed not long after by Alice. After they had all exchanged pleasant "Good Morning's" in Alices' case a tired apology after yawning in their faces, Lily was made to explain her prank to the Marauders who scrutinised every detail telling her that "they had done it many times themselves" , with many exaggerated interruptions from Alice such as, "My entire life flashed before my eyes!" and, "I swear she could of drowned me! It was like an, er, tidal wave from, like, the air! What's it called? Oh yeah - a waterfall!" *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Hey ![]() Hope that was ok, I didn't really know how it was going to turn out! Plz leave me some feedback, ya know were the link is by now! (in my sig lolz )

O.k I'm in shock. I had just finished a really long update for you, that I was rally pleased with, when I pressed the wrong button on the keyboard and the whole comp turned of by mistake! ****!!!!!!!!!!! ANYWAY, just wanna say hey to my most frequent reviewers, numbzen and Hermione3000 and also to beki14, who reviewed in my time of need lolz, so hey!
plzplzplz remember to review ppl positive or negative ![]() *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* The Gryffindor Seventh Years sat int the Great Hall ten minutes later. They were the only people there, except for the odd random student and Professor. Slughorn, who kept on winking at Lily for reasons unknown to her. Sirius had apparently noticed and was giving her a funny look, receiving an "I know nothing" shrug of the shoulders from Lily. Lily seemed to be receiving quite a few funny looks. Amanda and Grace, who had refused to sit with them, choosing the other end of the table instead, were both shooting her twin glares which she was doing her best to ignore. They obviously hadn't gotten over her little trick in the dormitory, unlike Alice who had, seemingly, forgotten all about the mornings' excitement. Alice was busy colour-coding her time table. This made Lily, who of course had colour-coded hers the second she had received it, smile slightly. Alice was the most forgetful out of all her friends, and was obviously trying in vain to make herself remember her schedule for once. Remus was reading a complicated looking novel, which had various strange looking symbols decorating its’ cover. Recognising the book, which was propped against the water jug, as the one that their Ancient Runes Professor had recommended to them during their previous lesson, Lily wondered briefly about asking Remus to pass the book over to her once he had finished. Deciding against it, Lily turned her attention to James who was obviously deep in thought about something. She could tell that something was playing on his mind by his uncharacteristic silence. *~*James’ Pov*~* James, like I said, was deep in thought. Well not deep, but thinking about something anyway. What was he thinking about? Guess. Lily Evans of course! He couldn’t believe that he had forgotten the plan so easily! Yes, he was upset about her agreeing to go out with Delacour, but James knew that Lily was bound to get a boyfriend sometime. She was too pretty for her own good. James had prepared himself for it ages ago. He guessed that he couldn't really expect Lily to all of a sudden fall into his arms after years of, supposedly, hating him, well she acted like she hated him anyway - James was sure that this wasn't true. Anyway, back to the plan. James was actually quite pleased with himself for coming up with it. He had woken up that morning with it fully formed in his mind, his subconscious had obviously been working on it all night. The plan was to play the “Tortured Soul” card. James thought that if he could make Lily feel sorry enough for him, then she would realise that she cared for him and.....dun dun duuuuuuh, [i]go out with him[/]! He knew that this plan had little chance of actually working, but a plan was a plan nonetheless. James just couldn’t believe that he had gone back on it so easily. I mean, here he was having breakfast with her, less than two hours after he had thought up the plan in the first place. This was just another example of how Lily was different from just your average girl. His feelings for her were deffinately unlike those he had felt for any other girl. "That's what Lily is - different. She's miles ahead of the rest of them," JAmes thought, smiling. It was true, he had put her high up on a pedastal (sp?) years before and no other girl had ever been able to quite get up to Lilys' standard. He didn't know what it was about her that he liked so much. Sure, she was beautiful, clever and whatever else James could think of that was good, but wasn't Alice? Weren't her other friends? Well, none of them could ever be as beautiful as Lily, was James' opinion. Even so, she could make him forget things just by walking into the room, no other beautiful girl could do that. James sincerely hoped that she didn't turn up to watch Quidditch Practice, then the team would be in trouble. James’ thoughts of Lily, Quidditch and er, Lily, were interrupted when Severus Snape, a.k.a his worst enemy and the person that James loathed most in the world, entered the Great Hall. James couldn’t believe what he saw. Yes, he saw the greasy raven heard boy, with the long hooked nose, sly smile and terrible skin, but he had seen this all before. Severus Snape had done something extroadinary in James' opinion, it looked like he had, somehow, managed to get some, dare James er, say it, friends. Instead of sitting on his own, completely isolated like he normally was, Snape was, unbelievably, the centre of the Slytherin Seventh Years' attention. Yes, Severus Snape actually seemed to have got himself some friends. "Pitty," James muttered. James shook himself. Severus Snape with friends? James couldn't believe it. He was certain that nothing less than a miracle had occurred. But there he was, laughing and talking animatedly with the rest of them. How couldn't he of seen it before? He'd been back at school for almost three whole weeks. The again, James hadn't really seen Snape around school, he usually spent his time in the Library, which was somewhere that James Potter very rarely went. Apart from that, he had only seen him in some of his classes, even then couldn't recal seeing him with all theses people. "It would of been hard though, seeing as only a few of them can probably read," thought James. This wasn't good. Not that it bothered him in the slightest, that he probably wouldn't be able to find "Snivelly" on his own anymore - James Potter was no coward - it was just that anything that made Severus Snape happy was highly unforunate event in James Potters' book. James turned around to see what the other Gryffindors thought of the Slytherins' sudden arrival. Craning his kneck so he could have a clear view of the opposite end of the table, James saw that Amanda and Grace were blissfully unaware of the present "situation". Lily, however, looked very alert, her eyes boring into his own, giving him a "Don't you dare!" look. "Aw bless, no wonder Dumbledore made her Head Girl!" he thought to himself, smiling. No other girl could possibly do the job better in James' book. Alice too, was fully aware of what was going on, she may be a bit dosy, but Alice was extremely bright. She was shooting worried glances at Lily, Sirius, Snape and himself every few seconds. Looking at the so-called-Marauder opposite him, Peter was completely ignorant to the tension that was rapidly spreading through the Great Hall. He was currently asking Remus, who was ignoring him and giving James and Sirius unbelievingly similar looks to the one that Lily was giving him, to "Pass the bacon." Finaly, James turned his attention to Sirius, who was giving Snape such a ferocious(sp?) looking glare that James thought that his eyeballs were in danger of popping out. When their eyes met, James knew exactly what he was thinking, he didn't need Legilemens to figure out what was on Sirius Blacks' mind. They looked at each other and nodded simultaneosly, their brotherly bond showing as they stood up. "Snivelly," Sirius breathed. *~*End Pov*~* *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Sorry it was short, for info why, see above lolz. Major computer accident I'm sure it was longer but oh, well. I had to do my best from memory. If I remember more, I'll edit it and let you know plzplzplzplz take the time to review!! ![]() EDIT: btw, if you're wondering why some of this is in blue, it's just for the people who have already read this post and want to see the bits that I had missed out when I rewrote this update after "The Crash". lolz. (when i shut down the comp by mistake and lost everything )

Lily watched in horror as the two boys in front of her stood up with their wands raised, pointing them at Severus Snape.
"James! Sirius!" she whispered in a deadly hiss, "Sit doooown.this.instant!" When neither boys turned around, she kicked Remus under the table for support. Standing up herself, she cursed the Marauders as the group of people surrounding Severus Snape all stood up, shielding Sanpe, who was still sitting down with a smug smile on his face, from view. "Lupin. You. Are. A. Prefect. Get your a$s over here right now and you'd better hope you can put a stop to this!" She gave him the most evil glare she could muster before he stood up aswell. Remus looked as though he would be all to glad to ignore what was happening, rather than choose between his two best friends and the Head Girl. Finally, he moved to stand next to her. Satisfied, Lily whipped around to face the situation at hand. Worriedly, she glanced quickly at Professor.Slughorn, glaring at him until he decided to do his job as Head of Slytherin House and do something. "Now, now children. Let us not get too excited! Why don't you all just sit down and get back to eating this rather delicous (sp?) looking breakfast?" He was obviously trying to control his voice, but it was shaking now. About twenty student were now standing up, preparing for duel, waiting for somebody else to make the first move. Lily was fed up. She hadn't even been Head Girl a month yet and a fully fledged war was about to break out. She couldn't believe that Professor.Slughorn had so little control over his own house. It was up to her now. The Head Boy was unreachable, his mind was on the duel and nothing else. Lily Evans wasn't going to let this happen, not on her watch. Alice had stood up next to her, followed shortly by Grace, the only Prefects to remain true to her on their own accord. She looked at the girls, along with Remus, and nodded slowly, mouthing the words, "Expelliarmus". Lily hoped that they understood what she wanted to do, and begged that she could trust Sirius and James enough for her plan to work. "LOWER YOUR WANDS!!!" When nobody responded, seething she bellowed, "NOW!!" James looked like he was about to obey, Sirius obviously thought so anyway, grabbing his elbow just in case, not taking his eyes away from the Slytherins ahead of him. "Or what? What are you going to do exactly, Mud-?" Came the cold snarl, hidden somewhere behind the crowd of Slytherins. Lily had to act fast. She couldn't give Snape a chane to end his sentence, she wasn't particularly bothered by it, but she knew James and Sirius would be. She gave her three friends the signal, giving them her infamous "Look". There was a simultaneous(sp?) cry of, "ACCIO SLYTHERIN SEVENTH YEAR WANDS!" from Alice, Grace and herself, Remus seemed to have said the incantation silently. A loud zooming noise, not unlike that of a muggle racetrack, told her that the Slytherin wands were hurtling at top speed towards her friends and herself. Mechanically, Lily held out her arm catching the wands in her outsrtenched hand. Quickly she binded them together with an invisible rope and threw them at Remus, hoping that Sirius and James wouldn't do anything stupid. She walked quickly around the table and stood infront of Sirius and James. She was grateful for her vast knowledge of spellls, she knew that th Slytherins wouldn't be able to retrieve their wands, even if they did figure out a way how to without magic. Greater wizards than themselves had been bound together by the charm, unable to even escape by apparation. Lily very much doubted that there would be any other way for their wands to be retrieved unless she released them. She stopped suddenly infront of Sirius. Holding out her hand for his wand, she stood waiting. He looked around the room, his eyes searching for an armed Slytherin. Finally, he stopped at Professor.Slughorn, narrowing his eyes he watched the Potions Professor closely. When he decided that the teacher wasn't going to attack him any time soon, he looked at James who nodded, defeated. Sirius marched over to the Gryffindor House table, scandilised, watching the Slytherin wands' in his friends' hand with utmost disgust. Satisfied, Lily moved accross to James, who Sirius had een standing next to moments before. James, disgust etched accross his face, threw his wand into Lilys' hand before marching out of the hall. Lowering their wands, Grace and Alice looked at Lily for further instruction with sympathetic looks on their faces. Sirius, Remus and Peter followed James, barging past an irate looking Professor. McGonagal without a backward glance at anybody in the hall. Seconds later, there was a crash and Jean-Piere stumbled into the hall. Guessing, Lily could only come up with the conclusion that one of the Marauders had tripped him up on their way out. Seeing the scandilised look on Jean-Pieres' face, Lily remembered that she had promised to have Breakfast with him that morning. Hoping that she looked inocent (sp?), Lily smiled at him, pointing to a seat at the Gryffindor table. Jean-Piere looked at her as if she was mad, before taking a seat at the Ravenclaw Breakfast table. Rolling her eyes and not about to give in and sit at another houses' table, Lily sat down next to Alice, trying her best to calmly spead some jam onto a piece of toast. "Miss Evans?! What is the meaning of this? Why do Mr.Snape and his friends have no wands?" Sighing heavily, Lily abandoned the piece of toast asking alice to wait for her, before she gathered up the bundle of Slytherin wands and calmly walked over towards her Head of House. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* hey ![]() hope you like next update won't be up until Monday now, so plz leave me some feedback!! thank you so much everyone who has taken the time to review so far and plz continue to do so all those people who havn't yet reviewed my story, COME ON!!!! it takes 30 seconds!!! links in my sig ![]()

***massive huggleses to everyone who's read + reviewed so far***
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Finally, after an hour of explaining and more explaining to Professor. McGonagal, Lily was on her way back up the marble staircase to Gryffindor Tower alone, Alice had obviously got fed up and left without waiting for her. In her hand Lily held three wands, two that she had confiscated; Sirius', James', which were still bound together by an invisible force, and her own. She was feeling rather grumpy, the hour of none stop Ginger Newt's, small talk with Minerva McGonagal and narrowly avoiding detention had worn her out. Lily was dreading going back into the Common Room, where she was certain that the Marauders would no longer be talking to her. This was going to make the task of giving Sirius and James back their wands even harder, not to mention her Head Girld duties with James later that evening. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Ten minutes later, Lily was climbing through the Portrait Hole - the entrance to Gryffindor Tower. When she was safely inside, Lily looked around her, trying to spot her friends which as far as she knew, included the Marauders, and trouble makers. To her surprise, Lily saw James standing on one of the squishy armchairs surrounded by his fellow Gryffindors, apparently giving some kind of speech, there didn't seem to be anyone around that hadn't come to listen to what James had to say, and ,naturally, Lily had checked. Spotting Alice in the crowd, Lily crept accross, hoping to go unnoticed by anybody, especially the Marauders. Apparently managing to do so, Lily nudged Alice in the ribs. Alice let out a very loud gasp, whirling around to find Lily grinning at her, "Lily!" she hissed, throwing her a filthy look. "Hi!" Lily whispered, "What in the world is James doing?" "What? Oh, he's just giving a speech about Quidditch. Apparently the team is two Beaters and a Chaser short," Alice replied, massaging her ribs. "Well why is everyone here?" "Coz it's Quidditch I guess. I was standing with Frank, but he abandoned me for a better place up there at the front," Alice replied, indicating to the edge of the crowd, where Frank, along with almost the rest of the house, was hanging on James' every word. Lily nodded, "Well why didn't he just put up a poster or something?" "Lily, this is James remember?! James is James. He probably wanted to make this as extravagent as he could, notice that he is probably the tallest person in this room, asides from Sirius and Frank, but he still found it essential for him to stand on the chair." Lily thoight that Alice was being a bit harsh, most people would of stood on a chair to make a speech, but Lily guessed that Alice was a little bit sore about her boyfriend being led astray so easily by James. When Lily didn't say anything more, Alice threw her a filthy look, "God Lily, you didn't have to punch me that hard! It hurts!" Lily rolled her eyes, "I didn't punch you, I-" She was interrupted by James, who had raised his voice. "Well that's it, if you want to go over and sign up your name and favoured position on the sheet over there," James said pointing to the Gryffindor notice board, "Oh, and many apologies to Evans and Button, sorry if we disturbed you, maybe now they can continue their conversation in peace," James soid pompously, scowling at them. Laughing along with everyone as they turned to look at Lily, who was glaring back at him, and Alice, who had turned scarlet, and jumping off the armchair. "Honestly," Lily said to Alice, rolling her eyes. A loud cough behind them announced Sirius Blacks' arrival, "Ladies," he greeted them, bowing as they turned around to face them. "Sirius," Lily replied, Alice just smiled, looking over his shoulder to see where Frank had gone off to. "I don't do long, boring speeches like my friend Prongs over there, infact I don't do apologies either, so I'll get to the point. I believe you have something of mine Evans, my wand perhaps?!" It wasn't a question and it didn't really require an answer, unless you included the return of his wand. "It wasn't boring, you looked like you were listening hard enough when I was talking!" James cut in. "Whatever," Sirius replied lazily, "Evans...my wand?!" "Well actually Black, I don't really care if you don't do speeches, actually I don't care if you don't do apologies either. However, you're going to have to give me an apology if you want your wand back," Lily replied calmly, she was pretty sure that any other girl would falter under the look that Sirius was giving her. "Wha-?" James started, but was interrupted by Alice. "You know very well what Potter, for the scene in the Great Hall. Alot of people could have been injured in that duel thing that you were about to start! You're Head Boy! For once in your life, GROW UP! You-" Lily smiled at her friend for backing her up, only to find that she was being dragged off by Frank, who had obviously sensed trouble. Lily put her hand on her hip and gave James a "look", as if to say "See?" James scowled. Sirius looked uneasily at hius best friend, before saying, "Evans, we're sorry, we're sure it wont ever happen again, We-" "-Promise!" James interrupted, "Li-" "Evans, our wands now please!" Sirius cut in, obviously exasperated. Lily silently handed Sirius's wand into his outstretched hand, and threw James' to His Lordship, who was standing slightly behind Sirius, before turning around and looking for Alice. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* At 3pm that afternoon, Lily relaxed into an armchair by the fire. She had spent most of the day doing things that she thought would be well approved of by her "Head Girl Handbook", such as re-arranging and sorting the Gryffindor noticeboard, Inspecting Dormitories and she had given two Second Year boys detention for building an "Exploding Snap" tower too high, she had given this in the interest of "Health and Safety". This was something that all four Marauders protested greatly about and at length, I should add. In actual fact, they had droned on about the detntion so much that they had actually managed to wear Lily down. They didn't shut up until she shortened the detention by half an hour and camped out in her dorm for forty five long minutes. Lily took out her book, which was entitled "Alices' Adventures in Wonderland" when she was interrupted by a conversation between Amanda and Sirius behind her. Lily crouched low into her seat, hoping that they wouldn't see her. The last thing that she wanted was them two to find her, she couldn't be bothered making small talk with them bith when she was so tired. The early morning was starting to take its' toll on her energy levels. Taking a sneaky look around her, Lily was shocked to see that the Common Room was deserted, except for, well as far as she could see, the back of Amanda and Sirius' heads along with herself. She cursed inwardly, knowing that her presence was unknown by Amanda and Sirius, as Lily ahd chosen the odd, extremely high backed chair in the corner, facing the window. Her years at Hogwarts had taught her that this was by far the best place to read relax into a book in Gryffindor Tower. "Well?" she heard Amanda's voice say "What?" Sirius asked "Well....Why did you bring me here?" Amanda laughed. Lily knew that laugh well. Amanda had a great laugh, tinkly but full of personality. There was a pause. Lily thought that Sirius might have been smiling., then he spoke again, "I, erm, I needed to tell you something...in private," Sirius' voice replied, suddenly sounding serious. Lily groaned softly, she knew she wasn't supposed to hear this. But what was she supposed to do? There was no way out. She couldn't exactly get up, make her excuses and leave. It was too embarrassing. Lily came to the conclusion that she would have to stay where she was until they had finished, then forget everything that had been said. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* hey! i know it's probably not my best post, but hope you ejoyed it anyway ![]() plzplzplz post some feedback!

hey
![]() nxt update's up like i promised - sorry i took so long!! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ~*~Amandas' Pov~*~ Amanda looked up to face Sirius, her hands self-consciously fidgeting in her lap. Was this the moment that she had been waiting for? Was Sirius Black finally going to ask her out, after almost two years of flirting? Amanda knew that they had dated before, for a brief two weeks in Third Year, but they could give it another go - right? "Well, actually I need to ask you a few things aswell," Sirius said smiling, interrupting her train of thoughts. "Wrong," she thought, "Oh well - plenty more fish in the sea. Shut up Amanda!!! You like him! He is the best fish in this sea!" Sirius was looking at her. "What's he looking at me for? Oh God, have I got something on my face? Have I got to say something?! What do I do?! Calm down now. Think," Amanda thought dramatically, starting to play with a strand of her hair, something that she always did when she was nervous. Looking up at Sirius, she suddenly remebered what he was waiting for, "Oh, um yeah?" she replied, smiling what she hoped was a confident smile. Obviously satisfied with her reply, Sirius blurted out the question, "How do you feel about me?" "Well, he does like his girls to be brainless. OH MY GOD AMANDA! YOU DID NOT JUST THINK THAT! HAVE A LITTLE SELF RESPECT!!" Amanda thought, still thinking about her embarrassing "episode" before, she hoped against hope that she hadn't sounded stupid. He was giving her that look again. Oh no. He'd said something. "WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LISTEN AMANDA YOU STUPID BYOTCH!?!" Amanda's sub-conscious ranted. "Well you can't just sit there gaping, you're gonna have to ask him what he said!" the tiny voice in her head said in a thoroughly exasperated voice. "Sorry!" she said letting out a short tinkly laugh, "Um, what did you say?" "Er, I was asking how you felt about me?" he replied, he knew Amanda was a bit dosey, but this was getting slightly annoying. "Oh. My. God." Amanda thought. "Do I tell the truth?!" she asked herself, "No duh," said a voice, "Just take a deep breath and say it. What have you got to lose?" it added, before another voice that Amanda was sure was her own sullenly replied, "Um - my pride?" "Um...well," Amanda was shocked to hear her own voice, "I like you Sirius," this time Amanda was more than shocked. She was horrified. "WHY DID I JUST SAY THAT?!?!" she thought wildly, her brain was going into overdrive. Sirius must have seen her shocked expression, because he laughed softly before saying, "It's OK 'Mand, I like you too. That's what I wanted to tell you," he said smiling and taking hold of one of her hands. Amanda smiled widely. Her mouth, however, didn't seem to be finished yet because it said, "Um, didn't you say that you had to ask me a few things?" she said, her voice lingering on the word "few". Amanda could hardly believe her own cheek. DID SHE JUST SAY THAT?! "AMNDAAAAAA!!!!!" the voice inside her head screamed, "You've liked him for ages, don't go and blow it all now!!" Well, when Amanda said ages, she meant sice the beginning of the year on the train. "Oops," she thought. She had suddenly remebered what she was supposed to be doing later on that night, she was supposed to be writing to her muggle boyfriend that she had met in the Summer Holidays. Sirius chuckled softly and moved nearer to her on the couch, taking both of her hands in his. "Oo-er," Amand thought. "Yeah, I wanted to ask you," he said smiling up into her eyes, "If you wanted to go to Hogsmead tommorrow night with me?" "Um yeah, of course," she said smiling. "Great!" Sirius replied excitedly, briefly checking his funny looking wizards watch, which was decorated with an assortment of stars and moons, "Oops, got to go! I'm gonna be late for my detention with McGonagal!" Sirius got up and kissed her on the cheek, before seeing the quizical look that she was giving him and adding, "She's blaming me for fooding the Boys Bathroom on the Third Floor! I can't believe that woman! She can sniff out a lie anywhere! I swore to her that i didn't do it, making my eyes go glassy with fake tears and everything and she still gave me detention with Filch!" He said all this very quickly, backing away towards the Portrait Hole. He gave her a funny sort of bow, before making his exit. Amanda laughed, then walked towards the Girls Dormitory, feeliong very excited about her date the next night. Climbing the stairs to the Sevent Year Dorm, she thought about the kind of things to right to Alex, her muggle biyfriend. "Well," she thought, "I can still write to him can't I?" ~*~End Pov~*~ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lily sat in the chair, feeling as if a hundred ton weight had been lifted from her shoulders. She was ecstatic with the relief of going unnoticed by the two Gryffindors. "Thank the Lord," she muttered to herself. Suddenly she remebered something that Sirius had said to Amanda about going to Hogsmeade with him the following night. Lily had major problems with that statement she could assure you. (sp?) Lilys' problems were, ikn no particular order: 1) Tommorrow night was a school night. 2) Hogsmeade visits were never at nightime anyway, especially now that there was a Dark Lord recruiting followers. 2) Tommorrow day was a school day, so there was certainly no Hogsmeade visit planned. 3) James and herself hadn't even planned a Hogsmeade visit yet. 4) How were Sirius and Amanda supposed to get there? 5) What would they do when they got there? Wouldn't somebody recognise them and turn them in? 6) How could they be so irresponsible? They were setting a bad example for the other students, both young and old. Lilys' anger was starting to rise inside her and, if she was not careful, bubble over the top. Well you know what they say about redheads. Lily felt very sorry for the person who would be on the recieving end of her wrath. Remebering that they were all at dinner, she took out her book and begn to read again. Almost as soon as she had opened her book, she heard a cough beside her. Lily turned around automatically, feeling a bit unnerved that there was nobody there. She didn't like this. Just to be on the safe side, Lily stuck her finger out, and sharply prodded the area where she thought that the noise had come from. She let out a loud squeel when it connected with something solid. "Ow!" Came the soft voice. Lily stabbed at the area again, unsure whether or not she could trust herself that there was something there. "I said ow, already," came the low voice again. "What are you?" "Lily Evans," "WHAT? Excuse me, I think you'll find that I am Lily Evans!" Lily said pompously. "Lily Evans, this is your conscience!" The voice whispered, in a husky, evil voice. "Oh. My. God," Lily said slowly, lunging forward all of a sudden and yanking hold of the thing in front of her. She looked down, screaming when she saw that her hand was no longer there. Relying on pure instinct, Lily tugged with all her might at the silver fabric that she was now holding, falling backwards into her chair when it came away so easily in her hand. Regaining her composure, Lily looked up to see a startled looking James Potter sitting on the arm of her chair. "JAMES POTTER!!! OF ALL THE T-" she started, but seeing the look on his face burst into shrieks of laughter. "Er, Lily, are you alright?" James said, standing up and watching her with utmost amusement. Lily managed to get control of herself somehow, before asking, "What In the name of Merlin did you think you were doing?!" "I wanted to see what the Lurve Master was up to," James said simply, beginning to laugh again. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Hey guys ![]() Sorry if it's not my best post! plzplzplz leave me some feedback!!! ![]()

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "The Lurve Master?" Lily asked, raising her eyebrows. "Uh-huh," James replied with his back to her, "Sirius Black," he added, firmly. "Yeah, I thought so," answered Lily, giggling slightly. When he didn't reply she said, "Er, James?" Still no answer. "James Potter, don't be so rude!" "Huh?" James said turning around with a slightly dusty, gold mirror infront of him. "I said -" Lily started, but seeing what James was holding in his hand, she changed the subject (kinda ), "What is that? And why is it keeping you from answering me?""This?" James asked, it wasn't really a question so he continued without an answer, "Me and Sirius nicked it from Filchs' Office last year, he has one and I have the other. This," he added, gesturing towards the mirror. "What does it do?" Lily said, revealing her Muggle upbringings' ignorance for a second, "You stole it from Filchs' Office?" she added in a deadly undertone, quickly glancing around the common room just in case anybody was listening. "Yeah but it's a long story," James replied in a would-be-offhand sort of voice, "I'll tell you sometime," he added hopefully. "You want to know what it does? Well this baby lets you talk to the holder of its' twin-" "Sirius?" Lily questioned. "Yeah. Anyway, if you speak the holders', Sirius', full name into the glass his face will appear and we can, well, talk," he finished feebly. Lily let out a soft "wow" that seemed to restore James' confidence a bit. "Yeah, we use it alot in detention and stuff," James continued, ruffling up his hair a bit, "But it doesn't seem to...be....working," James replied shaking the mirror madly in the air, before yelling, "SIRIUS BLACK!" into the mirror, making Lily jump about three feet into the air. "Ssssh Prongs, I'm in detention, remember?!" came Sirius' harsh whisper from, seemingly, James' hand. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Sorry, I'll continue it as soon as i can, which is hopefully tommorrow.
