Why did Voldemort aim for Harry's head at Godric's Hollow?

It probably could have been any kind of contact between lily and Harry that could have helped rebound the curse, If he was sick she could have felt his forehead, or she could have been trying to calm him, James went to head off Voldemort so Lily was probably in with Harry trying to protect and calm him, or it could have been a lingering kiss goodnight since harry was probably already in bed asleep, until this all began.

Could it be that Voldemort knew all along what was going to happen when he tried to kill Harry? It's just a thought, and maybe he wanted the scar to be on Harry's forehead?

An interesting thought, although I've never actually seen Voldemort as the self destructive sort, so why would he want to turn himself into vapormort?

are you suggesting that voldemort wanted to spend 13 years hiding in a forest? Unless that helps him in the end eg. him getting harrys powers if he kills him.
