Re: Will Sirius come back
The one thing that makes me think twice about Sirius coming back is that in the movie the filmmakers changed the curse that hit him into the AK. In the book it was just a random spell, but them using the AK seemed to me to give the impression that he's dead. But then Luna's talk also leaned the other way. It's really quite interesting.

Re: Will Sirius come back
I don't think he's coming back from the veil. If he did actually live after falling through and is stuck there, I think maybe he'll make some sort of contact with Harry, but I don't think he's coming back to the regular world.

Re: Will Sirius come back
Nah, Sirius has departed for good. Bringing him back would only torment Harry further, particularly after he managed to finally find a bit of closure in book 6.

Re: Will Sirius come back
Harry hears whispers from the veil in the book prior to Sirius' entering. He has no idea who (or what) they're coming from. I highly doubt a whisper now would carry Sirius' imprint, and as his memory is already giving Harry strength, do we really need to be reminded again of the loss? Or is it better to progress with the story instead of rehashing old business yet again?

Re: Will Sirius come back
I think that Harry will at least communicate with Sirius, either through the mirror or through the veil. If Sirius comes back, maybe from limbo kind of like how the Slytherin Fred and George through into *** Vanishing cabinets (Montague??), it may seem kinda unbeleivable, but I hope that we learn more about him, from him in book 7.

Re: Will Sirius come back
Learning more about Sirius is definitely a possibility, as Harry will be visiting the place Sirius and his father once lived. However, as to him coming "back" in some way, in the present time? It doesn't serve any valid purpose.

Re: Will Sirius come back
Along with several of you, I just came back from the movie. Luna's little phrase made my eyes go wide and i let out a little yelp. Certain people around me turned and looked at me which provided some awkward moments but it was worth it. because i was convinced he was back
But the AK curse...I'm still holding to the belief he IS dead but we WILL see him again

Re: Will Sirius come back
I think he may come back in some form, but I do believe he is dead. The movie proved that he is dead. He won't be coming back to life, but he may appear in some form or another.

Re: Will Sirius come back
I was hoping he'd come back. But he's dead..
If Sirius did come back, Harry would have a family member again who is a wizard. |

Re: Will Sirius come back
I agree with that. If Sirius were to come back, it would be cool, but I doubt it. Maybe he will return in a ghostly form to guide Harry.

I would LOVE Sirius to somehow come back, but I think the chances of Rowling doing that is slim-da-nil. ><

Re: Will Sirius come back
According to Albus Dumbledore, there is no, absolutely NO, wizarding spell in the Harry Potter universe which can raise the dead. Necromancy just doesn't seem to be the most.. "sensitive" topic when it comes to appealing to a reader-base composed largely of young children.

Re: Will Sirius come back
JK Rowling has said that Sirius Black is definitely dead.
Also, she has said that dealing with death is a "strong central theme" and that "death is not reversible". It seems that in the Harry Potter universe once someone is dead, they're not coming back. Here is some of what JK Rowling has said about death: http://www.accio-quote.org/themes/death.htm |

Re: Will Sirius come back
I agree with most ppl that he's definitely gone for good.
It's a hard death for Harry to deal with though, it seems so pointless doesn't it? And it was so sudden. But I think that's one of the srengths of the books, the way Rowling deals with death properly and doesn't sweep it under the carpet.

Re: Will Sirius come back
I don't think Sirius will necessarily come back to life, but maybe Harry will see in some other way, I don't know, maybe like a portrait or a phorograph or the priori encantatum thing again like how he saw his parents. I think Harry will catch some glimpse of him somehow.
