Yeah that would be cool. Then he may have more control over him than Voldemort.

Re: Questions about Nagini

Not possible- the snake Harry set free wasn't poisonous, but Voldemort used her venom for multiple things. Also, Nagini bit Arthur Weasley.

Nagini can't be an ashwinder, according to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, ashwinders live for less than a day, and are made out of ashes.

Re: Questions about Nagini

i'm still not completely convinced that nagini is a horcrux even though alot of people really are set on it. anyone have any good arguements as to why or why not it may or may not be a horcrux? im really trying to get these down lol.

Re: Questions about Nagini

This is the one horcrux theory that I'm totally 50-50 tossed in the air on. DD seemed quite sure in his suspicions of Nagini. Could DD have been wrong? If Nagini is a horcrux odds are this will be the last one Harry would destroy before going for LV. But obviously Nagini is not just an object, she is a living thing and she is always usually right by LV's side. I have a gut feeling that if the Wormtail debt comes up this might be one way he can help Harry. Wormtail was around Nagini alot in GOF. However, on the other hand we have learned that it is not a smart move to make anything that can think for itself into a horcrux. That doesn't mean that LV, with his fatal flaw of being overconfident, would have thought of that. He may feel so close to Nagini because she is his pet and he controls and communicates with her that it might not turn out the way he thought. Also, in a literary sense we have already seen a reptile with a heavy affiliation with Slytherin/Riddle/LV killed. The basilisk was also killed the same time that the diary horcrux was.

Re: Questions about Nagini

The reason I had asked if Nagini was a basilisk was because I was under the impression that basikisk have a distincitive diamond pattern on their backs... I remember reading that somewhere in CoS, and I thought that was the same discription given to Nagini. I realize a lot of snakes have diamond patterns though.

As for Nagini being a horcrux, I believe it. Dumbledore was really dead set in thinking she was one. And when Nagini attacks Mr. Weasley in OotP Harry sees it through Voldemort's mind, and I don't think it was because he was possesing Nagini, I think it's because part of his soul is inside of her.

Re: Questions about Nagini

Nagini doesn't strike me as a basilisk, but i could be wrong, either way, about her "baby bailisk" venom or stare being lethal yet, i don't know about the stare, but i read somewhere that baby snakes have more lethal venom because it's more concentrated.

Questions about Nagini

Does everyone remember when harry made the glass vanish in book one, and he was talking to the snake? Could that snake have been Nagini? Or (correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought Voldie was an Animagus, and could morph into a snake) Could it have been voldemort in his animagus form? I was just reading through, and it struck my mind..

I always thought Nagini was an anoconda, but maybe that was just me?

If I remember correctly it was once said that the snake from the zoo was just a random snake that made Harry realize that he could do something special. Or that could be my own deduction, my memory is a bit leaky on this.

It couldn't have been Voldemort in animagus form because Voldemort had no body to change anymore, he was just a imprint, a bit of soul.

Size wise an anaconda would have been the closest to Nagini, it has crossed my mind too that she must have been something like that.

Re: Questions about Nagini

Nagini is no constrictor as she's poisonous. The biggest poisonous snake in Europe is the Vipera ammodytes (known as sand viper, horned viper etc.). The homeland of this snake is the Balkan (around Croatia) and Albania is on the Balkan.

But! ... the max length of sand vipers are 95 cm, so too small for a Nagini. Except Voldemort used an enlargement spell on her.

That's possible, to make her more fierce and dangerous.

Size wise she could be that, but anaconda's aren't poisonous.
