Could Trevor be a Death Eater?

Hmm, I'd have to answer 'no' to this one. Trevor may always try to escape Neville's clutches, but I don't think it's for a nefarious reason. I'd have to agree with those who say Crookshanks would have gone after him if he had been a toad animagus, since Crookshanks has been in Neville's dormitory before on many occasions.

I dont believe that Trevor is anything of importance. True, Jo did use the idea before, but thats just it. Would she repeat it? I doubt it.

I dont believe that Trevor is a Death Eater. He's just a toad with no significant importance. So I'd have to say no he isn't. We havent been given any clues that he is a Death Eater. If I was a toad I'd try to escape to from that clumsy silly Neville too! lol

I'll start off with Trevor.
I don't think he's a Death Eater or an Animangus. Like others have said, it's a repeated theme.
As for his showing up in places and whatnot, the same could be said for most Owls in the magical world and they're not Animangi (plural?). Magical animals could just have more human-like qualities. Hedwig always seems to know where to go, even in POA she shows up at the Leaky Cauldron.
However, I do think that there is something more to Gran and maybe Algie. I don't think they're secretly working for Voldy or anything, but perhaps they're trying to hold Neville back so he doesn't suffer the same fate as Frank and Alice? Unlike other characters, Neville has become more important as the series has gone on. There's more to his story, and maybe Gran. We receive several physical descriptions of Gran, but never any personality traits that describe any of them, which has happened with all other characters.

I do not think that Trevor can be a death eater. He is just there to show how forgetful Neville can be because he kept losing him...

This idea, though highly ingenious, seems rather unlikely. We honestly don't know enough about the identifications and whereabouts of Voldemorts DE's to say otherwise.....

Well, that would be playing upon the animagus/DE again...just like in PoA. I think that that would be used up, but there again, the basilisk and Nagini are snakes...so why not reuse the DE idea? Hmm, now I stumped myself. OK, official answer from me: Nope. Dunno why, but I think that his absense in the last few books might be suspicious...

I laughed out loud while reading this thread, but I realized that after Rita Skeeter being an Animagus and Scabbers being a serial killer, anything is possible.

Sorry but I cannot buy this theory. There's enough animagus on the series already and one of them is a Voldemort servent, so to repeat the idea is just too much. For me he's just a toad. Trevor is always escaping, ok, but maybe it does just because it is a toad that, like most of them, likes the open space, some fresh air and water instead of being inside the castle all the time.
