Re: Saying Voldemort's name Post-DH
I think that the people who had lived through Voldy's reign of terror, families like the Weasleys and such, will never say his name. I think that they would have been too afraid, even though they knew he was dead. However, I don't think that they will teach their children to say "You-Know-Who", so I think that eventually people will be able to say "Voldemort" in the same way they say "Grindelwald" or "chocolate pudding".

Re: Saying Voldemort's name Post-DH
I wouldn't be afraid just to say his name, even when Voldy was alive.

I don't know though. It'd depend on how involved in the situation I was, which I'd like to think would be very involved. Being involved I think would make it easier.

Re: Saying Voldemort's name Post-DH
I think that with time the name would lose it's impact. I suppose that for those who lived to see the dark years would have difficulty saying it but younger generations wouldn't have anything to fear and so perhaps would have no trouble saying Voldemort.

Re: Saying Voldemort's name Post-DH
The fear of the name would eventually die out. People who had no experience of life under Voldemort's rule wouldn't fear it. It would happen a lot faster if the parents didn't pass on the fear of calling him by name.

Re: Saying Voldemort's name Post-DH
Absolutely not. No one would be afraid to say his name. He's dead - and every magical person knows that "no magic can bring people back from the dead".

Re: Saying Voldemort's name Post-DH
I would guess that anyone who had already been calling him that would continue to call him that until they died. All people that were either born after his death, or very very young at the time would call him Voldemort.

Re: Saying Voldemort's name Post-DH
I think people who were used to calling him You-know-who will still call him that because they are accustomed to that. Buy maybe future generations will call him by his name.

Re: Saying Voldemort's name Post-DH
I would never be afraid to say somebody's name, I mean, why were they afraid to spell it? Just because they think that Voldemort would hear them? Yeah, right, Voldemort has nothing better to do than sit and hear who says his name and who doesn't. jk...

Re: Saying Voldemort's name Post-DH
Those who were alive during the Dark Lord's reign will most likely continue to say, "You-Know-Who," if not for fear, then for habit. Their children may pick it up, but I believe that by the time Harry's grandchildren are born, most will say Voldemort. Twenty, thirty, forty years down the line, his name will simply be that of a history book and nothing more.

His name should be spoken openly and with pride.

Re: Saying Voldemort's name Post-DH
I think that people would still be afraid to say it until they hear the bravery of Harry and Neville. Saying Voldemort would be "cool, because our heros said it," therefore, the younger generation of wizards after the fall of the Dark Lord would oust the fear of the name.

Re: Saying Voldemort's name Post-DH
I doubt the people that were there for the final battle would be afraid to say it.
The rest of the wizarding world would probably be a little bit more skeptical. Especially after it was tabooed.
