Jo stated that Teddy wasn't a werewolf, but it would be interesting to see a neon orange werewolf padding around in the woods.

He could be an Animagus, though.

I wonder what kind of Godfather Harry was towards Teddy Lupin. Anybody have any ideas?

Ted Lupin didn't inherit the werewolf gene from his fater, not many werewolves go on to have children so they were worried that he would. JK has stated that he didn't but he was a metamorphagus with the whole hair changing thing

Well, I think it says in the epilogue that Harry and Ginny had Ted over for meals a lot, so it would seem that they were really close. Maybe Harry was kind of like a father or uncle figure to Teddy?

Agreed with Headless_Nick, lots of dinners , he even hinted that he should move in sooner or later Which i find highly assuring. And when you think about it, our dear Harry would never let anyone down, orphan or no orphan, after what he experienced as a child, I doubt he's want that to anyone else. So rest assured, Teddy was well taken care of

I would definitely think so. Harry didn't have a father and I think he want to be everything to Teddy that he wished he had.

I agree with both of you. I'd imagine that Teddy lived with his grandmother, though, since he didn't seem to be actually living with Harry. (And I think his only living relative is his grandmother, after his parents died and his grandfather was killed on the run.) I get the sense that Teddy and Harry were just very close, not that Teddy actually ever moved in, since "19 Years Later," Teddy would have been 19 years old and legally an adult. He'd probably have been expected to take steps towards living on his own by that point.

I agree with you headless_nick, but why was he on the platform (in the epiloge) if he was nineteen? Of course he could just been saying goodbye to Victoire but I got the feeling that he was going to Hogwarts...

He wasn't going to Hogwarts. He was just saying goodbye to Victoire. I think if he was going to Hogwarts Harry would be saying goodbye to him, too.

No, I do not think he was going to Hogwarts; I think he was just seeing Victoire off, as they will not be able to each other until christmas.

When I was reading and found out Tonks was knocked up. My first thought was this kid was going to transform into random animals and be super cool. I guess we'll see. Wouldn't it be ridiculously cool to be able to change into anything?

I feel like the son or daughter of a werewolf could possibly be like bill and have wolflike traits, but not be a werewolf. Maybe Teddy likes rare steaks.

I agree, I think that Harry wanted to make sure that Teddy wouldn't have to go through everything he had, with the Dursleys etc. I think that they pretty much felt like he was part of the family, really. That's what it seemed like, at least. XD

I know he didn't get werewolf traits of anything passed down to him, but I think it would be hilarious if he could have turned into...I don't know, an electric blue wolf/platypus/whatever mix. XD

I don't think being the son of a werewolf affects Teddy at all, but obviously he's a metamorphagus from Remus's picture of his blue hair. As for Harry's godfathering, I think he tries to be a better godfather than Sirius was, and yeah, he spends a lot of time at the Potter house.

Seeing that Teddy was raised by his loving grandmother I don’t think Harry would have had to worry about that. That’s what makes their situations different both become orphans but unlikely Harry who is raised neglectfully and with out love. Teddy is raised with an abundance of love from his grandmother, Harry and his family, the Wealseys. Other friends of Lupin and Tonks etc.

It was clear he (Teddy) was consider family probably like an elder cousin or brother to Harry's children. I think somewhere Jo says Harry was a good father-figure to Teddy.

An electric blue wolf would have been great to see.

Teddy's upbringing with his loving grandmother in contrast to Harry's with the Dursleys is exactly what JKR had in mind when she killed off Remus and Tonks.

Re: Teddy Remus Lupin (Or, what happens when a werewolf and metamorphmagus have a chi

So, I read the first post on this thread and now I can't get the image of a purple werewolf out of my head. It's terrible. I keep cracking up at random moments. Sadly, that's probably not what happened. I agree that Teddy was probably raised by Andromeda, since Harry was only 17 when Remus and Tonks died, and therefore hardly in any position to raise a kid. I agree with all those who have said that Harry and his family are very close to Teddy: Harry's kids seem to treat him like an older brother and James refers to him as "our Teddy" in the epilogue.

Haha. I've been saying that for years. Glad to see I'm not the only one. =D

I've always seen it as a symbol of the state of the wizarding world. The first war ended with an orphan, an orphan who grew up in a hate filled family, knowing nothing but neglect and abuse. The wizarding world had yet to find peace. The second war ended with an orphan who grew up with a loving family, knowing his parents died to make a better world for him. The wizarding world had finally found peace.

I think the werewolf gene CAN be passed over... maybe the meta gene cancels it out? But perhaps Teddy still craves rare steak once in a while...
