Night & Low Light Photography

I didn't see a thread for this, so I guess I will start it.

This is pretty new to me, but I'm enjoying the long exposure stuff

I hope some of you who live near cities will post PM cityscapes!

Re: Night & Low Light Photography

They look really good. What aperture and shutter speed were you using? What focal lengths?

Hey thanks, I had to open Bridge up to check because these were from my Intro to Photography class and I could not find the original files....

They were all shot with a 40D, most using the Canon 10-22 EF-S @ f8/9 for 8-20 Sec (noob trial and error woes Shoot 30 to get one...lol!

Ah, the 40D is a nice camera (I have one!). Love the wide angle lenses too, I just spent a few days photographing a house for real estate purposes, and my 11-16mm Tokina was very handy.

Re: Night & Low Light Photography

Very nice exposure! Not sure if the composition works though, with the buildings being chopped in half like that...

Thanks!! We'll just call the compo 'abstract' then. But the castle is cut off like that because there's a big flag pole directly to the right of this crop.

Re: Night & Low Light Photography

Could you have taken a few steps forward to get the flagpole behind you?

I wish. This was actually taken from a higher pov, and not ground level. So even the flag pole was quite a distance in front of me.
