I think Rell's and Sugar Quill's were my overall favorites from the competition. I also love WWB's week 3 a lot.

Boushh, I think you were my over all favorite. Do you have a good picture for your avatar? I looked for one but in the end I just took it out of a GIF file.
Everyone had atleast one week where they did an exceptional job. That is the challenge of these contests, that you have to go outside your comfort zone and do things that you wouldn't neccessarily think of doing on your own. Tenshi did a really good job making the challenges diverse and keeping us on our toes.

I thought the blur made it look like it was glowing and then I noticed where the quidditch pitch was showing through. That must have happened in the clean up and I didn't notice it.

I fiddled with the text placement a lot. Either the placement looked weird or it took up too much negative space, so I just went with what I thought looked best.

I should have tried to clean it up right away, but I thought it would be a good contrast of the two emotions, when I discovered it was a bit too much of a contrast I would have had to redo the whole thing. Now I am thinking maybe I could have made it a path and been able to isolate just the picture?

ETA: I got the bigger picture from my avatar at the LA Times Hero Complex site. Snitchseeker may have had higher res ones, but they could have been the same size too. Can't remember.

Thanks, but I've never done anything like this, and I have 0 experience with the software and graphic editing. I'd rather just vote from the sidelines!

I'm sure another WIMS will start up soon enough NNYLaraK. This is the best place to start. No pressure and people are pretty good about pointing out the good things you achieve as well as giving advice - which you can take or ignore or use as a foundation to move into a new direction of your own. There are free programs to explore and it is a lot of fun really. And 0 experience is what a lot of people have when they start WIMS. You'd be surprised at how much fun you'd have and at your improvement as you do each graphic. Plus, everyone is helpful, so that is a bonus.

But I just feel the more the merrier and if you enjoy voting and looking - you would likely really have a blast participating.
