Re: What's your favorite Shampoo/Conditioner?

I used to use Herbal Essences or Garnier Fructis, but they left my hair somewhat tangled and not smooth at all. What works best for me is Redken- my hair is silky, smooth, and shiny

I mainly use whatever is on offer in the shops, which most often tends to be Tresemme and I've always been happy with it I've used Pantene recently which I like, and Herbal Essences which seems to go further than Tresemme which is thicker, I have an awful lot of hair so end up needing an awful lot of shampoo Herbal Essences conditioner probably gets the best results on my hair.

Re: What's your favorite Shampoo/Conditioner?

I discovered Burt's Bees shampoo a couple years ago, and I'll never go back. I use Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet Shampoo -- I have oily hair, and this stuff is great. I can actually go for 2 or 3 days without washing it! It also doesn't seem to let that icky film build up on my hair as fast -- I don't have to use something different every 6 months like with other shampoos.

About 6 months ago I did have to quit using it for a couple weeks and use a clarifying shampoo to clean the film out; I used Neutrogena Clarifying shampoo for that. Then I went back to Burt's Bees and we've been happy campers. It's pricey, but you don't have to use quite as much for the same level of clean, and you don't have to lather/rinse/repeat.

If my hair is being really gross, I use Dawn dishwashing soap. I tend to have Snape hair, and sometimes I have to be stern with the grease.

Re: What's your favorite Shampoo/Conditioner?

I love the smell of Pantene. It's one of the best shampoo/conditioning systems I've tried, besides the fact that it dries my hair out like crazy. Recently, I've found a brand called Fekkai, which is pretty pricey, seeing as the bottles are quite small. But you can get away with using less shampoo and conditioner with this brand. I use the glossing system, and my hair looks gorgeous. It's incredibly smooth and I've noticed a lot less frizz. Sadly, my hair gets greasy after only a day, so I have to wash more often. It's worth a try if you've got the extra cash though.

Hi All,
I like Dove shampoo and conditioner most. Dove new range of hair therapy and treatment is great and makes my hair silky and dandruff free.

Re: What's your favorite Shampoo/Conditioner?

It's a 10

There shampoo and conditioner are amazing.

There other products are good I am sure...I use there styling serum and just used their hair spray(which doesn't make your hair feel all weighed down).

The styling serum btw is actually works for frizzy hair

Edit:btw I was told if you use the more expensive stuff, a lady I know who is a hair stylist said that you should switch between shampoo/conditioner...so your hair doesn't become use to always having the good stuff...

My favourite is Aussie, it's pretty expensive here in Sweden though.

The body shop has a pretty great shampoo too, awesome shampoo

Re: What's your favorite Shampoo/Conditioner?

I use L'Oreal Elvive Nutri-Glass Shampoo and Conditioner. It's ok, it's better than the L'Oreal Elvive Colour Protect I used to use which didn't protect my colour at all and made my hair quite dry.

I've seen a lot of people say they use Herbal Essences. Are they good? I've heard they are quite harmful and strip your hair and dry it out.

I have tried Herbal Essences. I think it really matters what kind you are using.
I had a Herbal Essences shampoo that built up in my hair and made it too oily. I had another kind that was fine, that did not do that.

Garnier Fructis has a good shampoo, I do not remember what is was called, but it was apparently eco friendly stuff. Or it could be a different kind I am thinking of. If your hair is dyed they have a shampoo that works really good, well for me, I heard that it can turn some peoples hair orange lol. I dyed my hair red like 2 months ago and it worked fine for me. I did not even have the conditioner. My hair was pretty soft...

Re: What's your favorite Shampoo/Conditioner?

Also, what is everyone's "technique"? I used to lather the shampoo and leave it on for at least 5 minutes, then rinse, lather the conditioner and leave that on for almost 10 minutes. Someone told me that leaving the shampoo on for that long was probably drying it out as it's like soap, and that you're supposed to lather, rinse and repeat. So now I lather the shampoo, leave on about 1 minute, rinse and repeat. Then I leave the conditioner on for 10 minutes. Some people think that's too long but I find it doesn't even do anything if you leave it on about 5 minutes of less. Plus I once heard Tyra Banks say you're supposed to leave conditioner on for about 10-15 minutes and her hair is amazing!

Re: What's your favorite Shampoo/Conditioner?

I buy both the herbal essences volumizing, and also the one for color treated hair because I often dye my hair crazy colors.

Re: What's your favorite Shampoo/Conditioner?

I've been using a savon de Marseille soapbar as shampoo for about a year now and absolutely love it. I don't have to wash my hair nearly as much as before and my skin doesn't itch as much. All I have to do know is find the perfect conditioner...

I think that all you really did to do with shampoo is, lather and then rinse....as long as you scrub your head(scalp) good, it cleans it. I recently got my hair cut by a lady I know that is a hair stylist and she washed my hair before she cut it(which almost put me to sleep btw lol)..all she did was wash it(scrub it) then rinsed. It matters how good you scrub with shampoo, not how long it is in(I think).

I try leaving conditioner in my hair for a few minutes...sometimes I just do not really care.

I switch between Alberto Balsam coconut and lychee, and raspberry, and Aussie, depending on my money at the time. The raspberry one smells fantastic

Has anyone tried dry hair shampoo? I just read about it today, and it sounds like something I'd really benifit from, but I don't know if it's really as good as it sounds.

Her hair is also professionally styled and, more often then not, is a weave so it's not her own hair but someone else's.

I use a combination of stuff. Right now I have Head and Shoulders which I'm trying to just use up because it didn't do anything for my weird dandruff issue, Redken which I got from my hair stylist who recommended it for washing hair after I go swimming and a new brand I recently found called Jäson in their Tea Tree Oil formula which has done wonders for my patchy dandruff thing. They recommend leaving the shampoo on your scalp for five minutes in order to give the tea tree oil maximum effectiveness in normalizing the pH of your scalp.

I'm currently experimenting with conditioners, torn between sticking with a natural brand like Jäson which seems to dry my hair out or going back to my awesome Kirkland bulk conditioner which is paraben free and yadda yadda yadda... but you can get like 45 oz of it for $9 which ROCKS!!!

Basically I'm winding down from my experimentation phase and settling on the stuff I like.
