Ear Gauging

I know there is a topic on piercings, but I want one just to be about ear gauging

I'm hoping going to start stretching my ears soon to a not too big size... maybe about 6g. I just got my wisdom teeth yesterday out so I'm working on healing in that aspect before I try to mod my body.

So I'm at an 18g at the moment. I just wear earrings that I buy at Ardenes or Claires.

I'm just at a loss about what material of taper to buy. I've heard titanium is the best, but plastic is cheaper. They don't recommend plastic, but my ears have been pierced for ten years.

I wanna hear about your gauging experiences!

EDIT: Ahhh!! I accidentally called this gauging, I know it's stretching Forgive me.

Re: Ear Gauging

It is also called gauging too, haha. I have my ears gauged to a 0.

Re: Ear Gauging

I think this looks gorgeous on some people.
I'd like to do it myself, but it wouldn't suit me at all.

I know a guy though, who's stretched to 22mm and it's totally ruined getting a job, he's struggling to find work.

I wouldn't mind maybe going to a 6ish. I wouldn't go past 10/12 though because I heard that's irreversible (unless you get surgery) and I don't think it looks as nice.

Yeah, getting them too big doesn't look so great on most people. But, to each his own I suppose.

Re: Ear Gauging

I have 6 mm in each ear, I want 10 mm though but my mom already freaked out at 2 mm...

Re: Ear Gauging

For what it's worth (another point of view), I think it's yuck - big earlobes. But, whatever floats your boat...
I just think it makes people look ... well, geriatric- y'know, the way grandpa has long, saggy ears.

If you want to undo it in the future sometime, can you? Will the holes heal up, or does it depend on how big they are?

Re: Ear Gauging

I personally wouldn't gauge my ears. I don't see the point in it. Its just tacky, IMO, and kind of disturbing. But, to each his own.

Re: Ear Gauging

It's always called Ear Stretching, never Gauging
