Good Day Everyone,

I'm sorry to say that CoS Forums is going to shut down in the Summer, sometime around July. This isn't an early April Fools joke either.

The Forums have become quite expensive to run and manage. There's a lot (LOT) less traffic coming to the site these days as Harry Potter becomes less of a topical debate for people.

I held on for a while after the last film, wondering whether JK would announce anything surprising, but I find that even if she did it wouldn't serve to help the diminishing numbers on the site or my bank balance!

Myself, I've been absent a lot more in the past year as personal issues have taken over and I've had to work longer hours, to earn more money to keep the forums going as well as pay for things like rent, utilities and god knows what else.

Some of you will be sad and I'm sure others will be happy. I'm not doing this lightly and I could have closed the site last year but held off. I know this may upset some of you who've come to see this place as a haven with friends and I'm very sorry it has to go but I've kept this place going with money out of my own pocket for 10 years now and it's no longer financially viable to do so. Please understand that this is not an easy decision!

Some of you may wish to offer to help, to donate or even take on the site. Whilst I would listen to any suggestions, I will not accept donations as this would be unsustainable in the long-term. If you wanted to take on CoS, be aware that you would need to find $200 per month and to be honest with you all I'm not sure I'm prepared to let the site be taken over by anyone. I've created a thread for comments. The other staff know only as much as the above. There is no Plan B as far as they are concerned, so do not pester them for answers to questions. If they do not know, they are being totally honest.

Many thanks to everyone who for the last 10+ years have worked in one way or another on the site. All the staff, past and present who gave their time and energy to making the community work. Every single person gave their time for free and were never paid for their efforts. It was a labor of love for all.
Many thanks to the members, those who came & went and dared to stay. Every single one of you who contributed to the site, to the discussions and events. You were the ones who made the site what it became, from the all the book releases to the heated, sometimes famous debates about all sorts of topics. You made CoS what it was. So thank you.

That's what i loved about it. Durmstrang and Beaubatons come into the Great Hall with those amazing entrances, and then we hear what Hogwarts has to offer in return. The looks on some people's faces are hilarious.

In Noctem was the best scene in the whole film outside the one on the Astronomy tower! There's a terrific youtube clip that has the entire song and includes the words here. The Latin translates to the English shown. Absolutely beautiful.

I'm going to go watch it again!

I didn't mind the hogwarts song in GoF. In the noctem from HBP was still better.

Looks like marathon time coming up. My FIOS guide has Chamber on 5/17 at 7PM and 5/18 at 4PM. That's on the outer limit of search range (sorta 2 weeks). Will post back when more data avail. Also, BIO channel is rerunning some of the Creating the World of HP episodes on 5/8 and 5/15. mugglenet.com/app/news/show/3075

Don't know if this thread still alive, but I'll post anyway. Looks like (90% sure) marathon is 2-6 with no SS. Will try to post tomorrow w/ more data. Also, for those of you so blessed, HBO starts showing DH2 on 5/12. They still show DH1 throughout May so they are having their own mini marathon 8 days a week.

My Zap2it schedule is showing the same thing I've started to make out the schedule as they add more I'll keep adding until it's done. I can post it too if you'd like. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that keeps an eye out for those wonderful marathons My family knows not to call during those weekends.-LOL.

I look forward to the Harry Potter marathons on ABCfamily. When it is on I don't have to make plans for the weekend. Plus I really enjoy that they include the deleted scenes.

Can see a bit more of sched. Friday at 8pm has Prisoner. Saturday has 3-5 starting at 1:30pm, and a rerun of Prisoner at 11pm(that's odd). Sunday starts w/ Prisoner at 11am and goes on presumably thru HBP at 8:30pm. It's interesting to me that brattyc has a different search function and also has a 2 week limit. Must be some sort of standard, I guess. Will post again when Sunday/Monday clear.

Just picked up HBP on Sunday at 8:30pm and again on Monday at 3:30pm. All times EDT.

I'm surprised Zap2it doesn't show the 11pm Saturday rerun of POA. I suppose the Verizon guide could be wrong about that, especially so far in advance. It wouldn't be the first time.

The usual interval is 28 months or so from theatrical release so that would be spring 2013 with DH2 in fall 2013. HBP was in theaters July 2009 and on ABCF December 2011 so that's 28 & 1/2 months. HBO gets them at 10-11 months.

At least we're less than a year away from the ABC Family cable premiere of DH1. Well actually it's more like 23 and a half months after it releases on DVD.

It really don't matter to me but i'd prefer if they didn't show the first 3 potter films and only shown the ones after that.

I thought it was absolutely hilarious too. I saw it for the first time this weekend during the ABC Family marathon. I literally bust out in laughter when I saw it. I wish the scene was a bit longer
