Re: How Would Harry Die?
I think his role as the hero was done because of what he did in his younger days. I also think that he wouldn't put himself in the line of fire knowing that if he died there would be a new rightful owner to the Elder Wand since it passes depending on who conquers the previous owner. Maybe JK made him go out with a blaze so there could be a new owner, and possibly another book.

Re: How Would Harry Die?
I believe that Harry would die after a long slight choatic and wonderful life. Harry wouldn't be surrounded by his family, but they will remember him. Harry would have lived his life to his fullest and when he does die he will still be known as the "Boy who lived".

Re: How Would Harry Die?
I think Harry would die peacefully in his bed with his family-including his grandchildren- by his side. He deserves a quiet life after suffering so much during the first seventeen years of his life. That doesn't mean he would live an (event-less) life of course ^_^

Re: How Would Harry Die?
I'd hope that he'd have a long and happy life and die when he's done his best for his community. That said, he's already died once, and I think he'll accept death whenever it happens

Re: How Would Harry Die?
I always pictured Harry's death as a peaceful death in his sleep or with his family with him. Just... Quiet. He fought too much, and lost too much, to die (again) in a violent manner. He deserves it.

Re: How Would Harry Die?
He'd probably die trying to protect someone. It's how a true Gryffindor would go down.
And anyway, just cause Voldemort is gone, doesn't mean there are no more cruel witches and wizards striving to be like him. Not everything would be peachy peachy after that.

Re: How Would Harry Die?
I think Harry would die a natural death. Unless someone decides to murder or kill him (which I doubt).

Re: How Would Harry Die?
I think that Harry will ultimately outlive Ginny, perhaps by a year or so. I picture him in all his aged glory, sitting in his rocking chair watching the world go by as he drifts off to peaceful, eternal sleep. His children will have become grandparents by then, and generations will gather together to tell vivid stories in celebration of his life at his wake.

Re: How Would Harry Die?
In old age, surrounded by family, due to natural causes. He had his glory, his moment of sacrifice, what he really wanted is a family and normal life. Also, it would correspond with the story of the Three Brothers: Harry, like the third brother, his ancestor, dies peacefully, on his own terms after a long a fulfilling life.
If we're going the sappy route, the trio plus Ginny would all die within a year or two of each other, and Harry's and Ginny's deaths would be very close together. Not sure if that's how I actually see it happening though...

Re: How Would Harry Die?
Yes I like the answers of him dying surrounded by his family in peace. Then again, his children could quickly give him the deathly hallows just before his passing moment, make him drink the elixir of life, and death would appear but complain "aww shucks, come on man, I need the commission, I'm saving up for a new scythe, the mrs. will not be too pleased".

Re: How Would Harry Die?
Maybe he'd go mental in the end because of all he'd been through. Completely paranoid, like Alastor Moody, but worse. I do think he would live to an old age though, and be relatively happy until his final few years... (:<

Re: How Would Harry Die?
I do see your point. I always thought that Harry would end up somewhat paranoid or somehow disjointed after all he had been through. I found that it was hard to believe that his life would end up so normal... the fact that he so easily found someone to marry and would lead a normal life was, well, a stretch. Harry had a lot to deal with... he witnessed and felt things that most people never feel in a lifetime. Maybe this could have been why he found these things so easily... because he had experienced so much that the true meaning of living made sense to him better than most. I suppose I imagine that he passed at an oler age and that he felt comforted by the fact that through all of the twist and turns of his life he had friends...
