Yes, that special time of year is nearly upon us again. Use this thread to discuss this year's entries, the costumes, the razzledazzle....and vote for your favourites. (I've allowed you to vote for more than one song, as you're allowed to do that in the official Eurovision vote)

Semi-finals are Tuesday 22nd May and Thursday 24th May. The grand final is on Saturday 26th May.

But if you can't wait that long, you can watch preview videos of all the songs on the official Eurovision site or on YouTube

I need to watch them all before I can vote. I can say though, that Montenegro is NOT getting my votes.

OMG Austria...

You know what I expected when I heard the name "Engelbert Humperdinck"? Someone like Wagner (X Factor). But I actually enjoy his song.

That song is delightfully camp and catchy. I do like the grannies more though.

I also quite like Hungary and the Netherlands.

But what was Austria thinking?

I didn't follow it either. There was a casting show "Unser Star für Baku", but I haven't watched it.

It's the first time I heared of that guy and even though I think he's a good singer, I don't think we will make it into the Top 10. The song is nice, but there's nothing special about it.

Austria... for once I dread the fact that we speak the same language. It's worse when you actually know what they are singing.

I watched the second semi-final last night and I've got to say, biased as I am, I'm really disappointed Sofie Marinova (Bulgaria) didn't make it. I thought her song was very catchy and dance-able.

I actually like this song more than some others. Admittedly it's not necessarily a good choice for Eurovison since it's not overly catchy.

I missed both semi finals and only just now listened to the song of my country for the very first time. But I'll watch the event in tv this year.

While I like Roman's voice, I don't think he will awe the people.

Sweden is hard to predict. It's a really good one, typical David Ghetta Song, but you never know who will watch the show this evening.

I put Jedward there, because never underestimate the will of crazy Jedward fangirls.

Russia goes without saying.

Serbia. I think they are going for a mushy song this year and I liked Serbia best.

The Swedish song was okay but the singer was beyond bizarre and not in a good Eurovision way. I don't know, for a song called Euphoria the artist was emotionally absent. I didn't particularly like it. It's an okay club song, I guess?

I wanted Russia or Turkey to win - they were both loltastic.

As one of the Big Five you're obliged to participate I guess.

I like the outcome. Kinda like I predicted (before I changed my mind and switched 1. and 3. Place in my list >_> ) in the beginning.

But Albania? Hello People? I can put a bird nest on my head and scream for 3 min as well.

What I find funny is that the show was in fact made by Germany. The Crystal Hall was build by a German company, most of the crew members are from Germany and I heared that we put 11 Mio Euros in this.

Englebert did okay - i thought the song was pretty good.

However it's so political these days the UK doesn't stand a chance!

I sat with my 2 daughters aged 18 and 21 and as each country voted we shouted out where their big points were going to go! We were right 90-95% of the time!

My husband came up with the idea that we should just have the voting and abandon the singing - the results are the same!

Either that or we should just not go for the next couple of years - I know we are one of the big 5, but the voting is based on so much more than music at the moment!
