The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Okay I don't seem to be able to see any threads for this amazing musical. Its all very well having them for "rent" or "footloose". Yes they are great musicals, but Rocky Horror is in a league of it's own.

It's the campest, craziest, sexiest, sauciest musical of all time. The only musical you can go to dressed as though you are a manaquin for Ann Summers (and thts only the men ) and get away with it!

The songs from this musical are truely AMAZING! Who doesn't love the time warp? You see this musical live and you are aloud to stand up and join in with the songs and dances, with out getting dissaproving glances from the lady on the row behind you or asked to leave by the event staff. Tell me - could you do this in the middle of Chicago? or Jesus christ superstar?

I didn't think so!

So this thread is for Fans of the Rocky horror show - whether they have only seen the movie or have been lucky enough to see the show live!
Or even if they are just showing an interest.

Also use this tread to add updates on rocky tours/ event in areas near you.

Lets to the time warp again...

Re: The Rocky Horror Show!

BEST MUSICAL EVER! I love Rocky Horror, it came down to Cornwall afew years ago and it was amazing! I just love the atmosphere. seeing all the audience members dressed up and singing along to the catchy tunes! The people who weren't dressed up looked really daft. HA! serves them right for being unimaginative!

Rocky Horror rocks!!! My favorite songs are the Time Warp, Touch-a-touch-a-touch-a-Touch Me, Sword of Damocles, Sweet Transvestite, and ****** Janet. It's just such a cool show!

Re: The Rocky Horror Show!

ROCKY HORROR!!! is just like LEGEND!!!!

Being young obviously I never got to see the orginal show but I was introduced to it with the film. I was bored one night and saw that there was this film with Tim Curry Susan Surandon and Richard O'Brian in it. I thought why not? Three of my favourite actors. So I flicked over. Jaw dropping. It did not say it was a musical! I am totally into musicals. I was hooked. By the time Tim Curry got to the screen I was just like 'I have never seen a musical like this before'. He looked strangely amazing and totally worked the costume and the make up to suit his character. Fantastic - oh and his legs!!! Why do men have better legs than women?

I got to see the stage version that was on a little while back with David Bedella, Suzanne Shaw and Clive Mantle in it. They were terrific. And the vibe from the audience was mind blowing before during and after. There were people dressed up and all sorts of things and when the Time Warp came up we all stood up and started doing the dance. It was one of the best theatre experiences I have ever had.

Love it love it love it! My 15 year old sister has been in love with this film since she was 11. She's got a Columbia costume, went to see the stage show and can sing all the songs from memory. It's a genuine cult classic! The remake should be burnt!

Re: The Rocky Horror Picture Show

My sister and I saw the movie for the very first time this past summer and loved it! This past November we went to a live show and had a blast. I prefer the movie to seeing it live but either way it is one of my favorite shows I watch if I need a laugh.

Re: The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The episode titled ‘The Rocky Horror Glee Show’, is a tribute to the classic film The Rocky Horror. In an earlier episode, the series had honored Britney Spears by dedicating an entire episode to her. She had made a guest appearance in this particular episode, which drew immense applause.

Will’s decision to prepare the Glee Club for The Rocky Horror Show. His decision is motivated by Emma Pillsbury’s sudden interest in cult classic, particularly in the musical episode was which was not expected by fans. So I guess in other means show was even that much good.

Re: The Rocky Horror Picture Show

I'm actually in the Chicago cast, Midnight Madness, that shadowcasts the movie. We do it twice a month. I mostly play Janet but have also done Transylvanian and Trixie. It's a ton of fun! Last week there was a RHPS convention in Atlantic City, unfortunately I couldn't go due to money I think there will be another in Cincinnati next year and Chicago might be hosting one in 2014.

I love the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Unfortunately I am still a "virgin" as I have not seen it outside of my own home, but I think it's a amazing! Whenever The Time Warp comes on I just have to do it, haha.

Re: The Rocky Horror Picture Show

I've seen the movie a couple times and loved it! Sweet Transvestite is definitely my favorite song.
I'm saving up some money from my summer job to go see it live in October! Eep! I'm really excited.

Re: The Rocky Horror Picture Show

I've seen the movie a few times and I'm completely in love with it!

Unfortunately, I don't think the live show has been around here in Holland for years.

Re: The Rocky Horror Picture Show

We perform it every year around halloween at my university and I've been in it three years running. It's always a fun time with rowdy college kids yelling out call lines and throwing things on stage. Time Warp is my absolute favorite scene from the movie.

Re: The Rocky Horror Picture Show

I discovered a theater a few miles away from my university that does a midnight showing of Rocky Horror once a month. I'm so excited! I've watched the movie so many times but I've never experienced the environment of a midnight showing. It's kind of in a rural town, though, so I'm hoping I'm not the only person there, awkwardly sitting alone in the theater wearing a hot pink corset and whatever other ridiculous accessories I can find.

Re: The Rocky Horror Picture Show

I actually went to see the live show before seeing the movie. They're both brilliant, but the atmosphere when seeing it live is just out of this world! I adore RHPS.
