A lot of the minor tech stuff is just not going to be fixed. Our technical staff had the time once, but they were in school then and now they're out, in work and supporting families so getting them to invest time into CoS is difficult. My main concern is keeping the site functional and as long as that happens I am content to let the other things slide by.

A sort of blog thread where I re-read the HP series and review chapter by chapter. People can comment on my opinions, with their own, such as "Snape's obviously McGonagall's son." and I hand out cookies every Friday.

Who do I complain about that 30 second survey that occasionally pops up when I am on-line? It says COS survey. I click on the link and nothing happens. If a third party is responsible, can you make it go away? I like surveys, I really don't care for the prizes, but if I click on the link and nothing happens, then it's annoying.

@merrymarge - I never get the survey popup. So you might also want to turn on the popup blocker. What browser do you use?

Hes' reply means that the answer to your question "thread or no thread?" is: no thread, but a group is fine.

Well my question is little more than a grumble, really. I started a thread (separated by a common language) and was quite pleased that it attained over 1500 posts - so now it is in it's second version. But of course my name as the originator has now disappeared. Does this always happen? I was rather proud of it.

It's always the name of the person who starts the new thread and not the one who created the original. In your case Alastor created version 2, so his name appears.

Tenshi is correct. When a thread reaches 1500 posts we start a new one. Notable exceptions are one or two fast moving chat threads. You can now find the thread in the Non HP archives

Is this site under trademark or any other legal protections? i don't want to infringe, I am just curious.

Would it be acceptable to make my own graphics thread instead of using the thread made by staff for banner-makers to post examples of their works on? I understand that without that thread, there would probably be an overload of graphics threads. However, the reason I want to make my own thread is because I want to post all of my premade graphics there. I used to take requests, and I eventually fell behind because I couldn't keep up, and then people stopped using my graphics because I took the notice out of my signature to owl me for requests.

If I made my own graphics thread, I would be able to post all of my art without disturbing the others on the staff-made graphics thread. (Several people posted there asking that the artists please only post a small sample of their banners as it slows up their computers.) I also could say if requests were open or not, and if not, members could still use the premade banners. (I will keep adding more.)

If I can't make this thread, that's fine. I just wanted to ask to see if I could.

Do you mean HP related images? If so, you can create your thread in Magical Masterpieces (to show off your work) and open a feedback thread in the feedback forum for requests and comments..

If you mean non HP images, go ahead and open a thread at Artists Unite.
