Does Harry now have two scars?

So anyone who has read the seventh book knows hat Harry survives the killing curse AGAIN. He even notes that the spot on his hest where he was hit is a little sore and bruised. Doesn't this mean that he would have ANOTHER scar? Any thoughts on that?

I don't think he would have. The first scar was because it rebounded back. And it was the AK no less. Harry got the scar because the curse failed to kill. In the Forest the curse kills, it kills the soul bit inside Harry. So I don't think Harry will have a scar.

I dont think there is a second scar. I am leaning towards the theory that the scar was a sign of the Horcrux. And I have been thinking on this, not sure if its a bit off topic, but nevermind! I was wondering that if the AK curse had backfired and hit a different area of his body i.e foot or knee (haha) would Harry still have had that mental connection with Voldy? Im thinking that the reason is because its like connected to his brain a bit isnt it? Or is that a bit far fetched?

I think where ever the scar was Harry would have had the mental link; though I am not sure of it. The scar by itself did not form the link; it was the soul inside the scar that formed the link. And I suppose the soul could communicate with Harry's mind from anywhere in Harry's body.

well, ifyou read after harry wakes up, he said that his chest where the curse hit was sore. I would assme then that this is where the scar is because thats where the curse hit....

I would agree with you here, just because the scar had appeared on his foot or something, the soul would still manage to function with his brain .

DH, page 724 Every inch of him ached, and the place where the Killing Curse had hit him felt like the bruise of an iron-clad punch.

Okay, it mentions a "punch" and therefore I'd have to say no on him recieving another scar. You don't recieve scars from punches, I'd assume he'd have a bruise that would last awhile, but nothing more than that.

Same here Hana. I would imagine he was bruised, but nothing more. The scar denoted something bigger, more sinister than just a killing curse- and so I don't think it would be replicated at that final moment.

It's a wonderful question though.. I had certainly never thought of it before..

If Harry got the scar on his forehead from surviving the killing curse when he was a baby, does he have a second scar from his confrontation with Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest?

When getting hit with the killing curse there shouldn't be any sign of injury if you take the first chapter of GoF into account. I think he got the scar because he was made into a horcrux. He wouldn't get another one the next time he was hit with the curse because one, he wasn't getting a part of Voldemort's soul put in him, and two, if you look at the victims of the killing curse, they're untouched. No scar.

The first curse hit him directly on the forehead while the second one hit his clothes I think. Perhaps that makes a difference ? Harry mentions feeling a bruise though so maybe he does have a small mark there.

Yes! Added to which in the second encounter it was the soul fragment that took the damage NOT Harry - so no reason for another scar as far as I can see.

Harry was already scarred from the first time Voldemort came after him and later when Umbridge had him write "I must not tell Lies". He doesn't need any more scars.
