I dunno. I wasn't even aware there was an ability to cheat...

I don't intend to try, by the way

I haven't seen a survey yet, only because I haven't been to Pottermore lately. I collected the three badges and that was it.

Re: Pottermore v.11

Is there any way to know if you have found everything or not when going through the books? Having finished the available content in book two, I started going back through book 1, and have already found a chocolate frog card, some Bertie Botts beans, a galleon, and some other random things I assume I missed the first time through.

One thing I know I've missed is how to unlock the Curses and Counter Curses book in Chap. 12, moment 1 in book 1. Any hints?

Here's my list with locations for the first book, in two parts:

Sorcerer's Stone, 1:

Sorcerer's Stone, 2:

Info to understand my coords is at the bottom of 2.

My list doesn't include original locked material, but does include the new locked material JKR posted later. Those tend to be tricky--I've got screen shots of those.

If you've collected Curses and Countercurses, it won't appear in your trunk. Click on the Spells medallion on your Gateway and the book is accessible from the left hand menu.

Re: Pottermore v.11

Thanks for the lists, those are awesome! After checking everything off the only items I was missing were a couple books and the dragon egg. Unless I'm missing something else, I don't seem to be able to grab the egg out of the fireplace. Did anyone have trouble with that? I went into the scene as deep as you can go and it just sits there and rattles a little. The teapot steams when I roll over it, but I can't pick up the oven mitt or use anything else to get it. It doesn't even glow purple when I roll my mouse over it like most other things do. Anyone else have this problem, or am I not looking in the right place?

Check your trunk--you probably already have it. The dragon egg is one of the few items that doesn't disappear from the scene when it is collected.

They say stupidity exists on many levels. Apparently, they were right!

HOW DID I MISS THAT??

Thanks for the help!

I also found a galleon at 1.12.3.3 that's not listed on the spreadsheet; in case you want to add it.

Now that I've been dueling for a little while, I've noticed that my skill at the full-body bind seems to cap out at 143, while I see others get as high as 145. Do you think that your skill is at all related to your kind of wand? Reading about the cores and woods and stuff, you can see where some wands are easier to gain your trust or to partner up with, and others take some time to get comfortable working with a wizard, but when it does, they are very strong or skillful. Do you think this is at all taken into consideration when dueling?

Re: Pottermore v.11

Not really, I doubt it though.

I am sure that latency will impact your results. I have hit 144 (not 145 yet) quite a few times in a relatively short period of time - while at other times hardly coming over 141-142. The only difference from what "seems" identical casts is that my notebook seems lagging. So both bandwidth and RAM seem to have an impact as well as server activity ...

The wand type doesn't factor into the dueling at all (wood, core, none of it matters.) Computer factors (the speed of your Internet connection/how well it shows the white dueling line, your keyboard, etc.) and the amount of practice do matter: I know when I had to replace my keyboard my score dropped for quite a while until I got used to it again.

In my experience, consistent 143-144s are possible with practice, but it's really hard to get a 145: I've only gotten about 12 perfect 145s in a little over 5,000 points' worth of duels, and it took me 1000 points before I saw the first one.

I finally tossed three gnomes over the wall. Haven't been able to toss more than two since. I am ready for the next chapters. Having the chapters spread out is annoying.

I was so sure they'd add more chapters on the 31st.

Re: Pottermore v.11

I suspect they might be keeping to a timeline. Chapter 5 starts with the night before students head back to Hogwarts, so I'm thinking they will release more on Sept. 1. If they give us the entire first term, we'll get up to Chapter 12. I guess we'll see.

If that was the case then wouldn't they have released the first 4 chapters on July 31st? Considering the first chapter is Harry's Birthday. I guess I'm just hoping your wrong. I was kind of hoping they would release the 2nd batch July 31st too.

Maybe August 15th? It was the first day some people were aloud into the beta of Pottermore. Making it a year since it was released..

No kidding! I'm sure the Pottermore team will become more effective in their releases as time goes on. I feel like we're all still in beta, just watching as the Pottermore team figures out what exactly they're doing.

It also doesn't help that the 'BETA feedback' button and form is still readily available

Re: Pottermore v.11

Is the whole some members running scripts to make them continuously duel/win duels still happening? I know that one member got half their points taken away. I don't really feel like that's a fair punishment, considering they were cheating, and are probably continuing to do so...

I'm excited to see the new chapters, although I wonder when they'll actually be out. It's been almost a month since the first chapters were released. I think they're gonna be really fun, though! The CoS chapters released so far were definitely an improvement over the first book, I can't wait to see what they do now.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff...
