First post here in years but had to "come back" to post my sorrow at this sad, sad news.

A great loss.

Indeed! In addition to Snape, Rickman played a wide-variety of roles, and he did them all well. He was a great "villain": but he did comedy and normal drama roles quite well, too. He was never a star lead, but he was that solid piece that rounded off a cast wonderfully.

I do feel a little bad for him that David Bowie's death overshadowed his. (I was a huge Bowie fan, and still enjoy listening to his albums: I still have my Serious Moonlight tour shirt from the 1983 tour; and it still fits me!)

On a side note, I've made a handful of posts here over the years, but good to see you again, btw.!

He brought dimension and class to a lot of different roles, including Snape. He will be sorely missed.

What a shock about ALan Rickman's death. SOmehow I feel that scene with Sever's death a foretaste. I never realikzed that he was sick. I shall always hold him as my favorite actor, particularly his role as Snape. May he rest in peace.
