I couldn't agree more. If aristocracy is measured by pureness of blood, then the Weasleys are right up there with the Blacks and the Malfoys.
Anyway, didn't Sirius tell Harry that all pureblood families were related in one way or the other? So they're actually all the same social class. In Europe, Asia and elsewhere, you have aristocrats, sometimes related to the royal family, who earn their lives working at a job like everyone else. That doesn't make them any less blue-blooded.
Wasn't Lady Diana Spencer, the daughter of an earl, work as a nanny before she married Prince Charles? The family she worked for had no idea of her "blood status".
