Re: The deleted scenes we've never seen...

It really is a shame that we won't see most of these deleted scenes, particularly for Order. You would think that 40+ additional minutes of footage is substantial enough to merit a special Director's Cut release while Yates is still available during editing/post-production with Part II, unless some of the scenes would require extensive post work. Unfortunately, the Ultimate Editions have not fully taken advantage of these opportunities.

I'm sure fans wouldn't mind seeing the unfinished footage for Order with incomplete visual effects/editing, similar to what James Cameron did with bits of deleted material on the special Avatar DVD release.

I didn't even know they considered him for the first movie until a couple days ago. This is why he was asked to come back when Steve Kloves left OOTP. He's a firend of Heymans or something like that. And the first script Kloves did for HBP included all the memories, and I am really interested in that, too. I've never understood why they don't release early drafts of scripts. It's an important part of the production, and as a fan it is something I myself and I'm sure others would be interested in, too. I doubt these will ever surface, though.

ITA! No doubt that fans would love seeing that footage, finished or not! I know I would.

Around 0:37 Hermione says "He's rather disagreeable, isn't he?". I don't remember that being in the movie!

Re: The deleted scenes we've never seen...

another-tiny- but "deleted" thing i remembered this past few days....

in some of the old deathly hallows part 1 behind the scenes there was a brief scene shot of the trio sitting behind a fallen log, and harry looking behind his back and making sure no one else was listening.

and i just remembered that wasn't in the movie at all

i'm really, really hoping that maybe for the 10/20 year anniversary of the movies, we get all these never- seen on screen footage.

and the older scripts come online of course.

I really hope they make extended editions. I could see that. Though if they do it they need to include all of the deleted scenes.

It'll be great when they have a giant collectors box with all of the movies in blu-ray and stuffed with extra's.

From what I've heard, there really isn't going to be much in terms of extra. Though it would nice. Lots of behind the scenes stuff would be nice.

Even in the unlikely event of that happening the original director would be perfectly entitled to have their name withdrawn from the credits.

Did anything get cut from cinematic release onto home release?

I seem to remember bits and bobs from the cinema (Philosopher's Stone), like more House and Quidditch talk fairly early on in the film, and McGonogall asking Neville's surname when he retreived Trevor before the Sorting..

Anyone have any ideas?

Re: The deleted scenes we've never seen...

Not deleted scenes, per se, but has anyone created a montage of how many times girls and women step in front of Harry to protect him? That'd be nice to see as one long piece.

Re: The deleted scenes we've never seen...

There's a petition started by some HP fans going around to Warner Brothers, asking them to make extended versions of the films. If you'd like you can sign it here: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/harrypotterextended/

Will Dunn who plays James Sirius signed it and retweeted about it. Never know what could happen.

Edit: If I'm not allowed to post this kind of link you may delete the post.

Tough to create at the moment unless someone has a bootleg copy of DH2. Just in that one scene alone you've got McGonagall, then Ginny, Cho, and Hermione. Hey, he's never been more fanciable!

Re: The deleted scenes we've never seen...

It would be so amazing if they would release extended versions of the movies. As it stands right now, ABC Family shows the best versions. When I watch my DVDs, I'm stunned at how much is missing.

Re: The deleted scenes we've never seen...

45 more minutes of OotP, including the 'Brain Room' and 'Extended battle of the Department of Mysteries' and we havn't seen anything of it ..

WB really need to release a HUGE collectors edition box-set with all extended films ! Since i guess they're not tired of making money of the Potter-francheise we'll probably get it sometime, lets hope for a 2012 release

I agree with this. It's disappointing to own the dvd's and have them less complete than what I see on TV. I hope that eventually extended editions for all will be available.

Shot of Moody casting a spell at a Death Eater in the OOTP battle at 0:24 that I've never seen before.

When they showed CoS on ABC Family, we noticed a bunch of extra scenes, but they all seemed to be in the deleted scenes package on the DVD.
