I saw this photo and it's the first time I've felt any emotion towards the scene I know is coming at the end and it's all because of his face. Dan's face reminds me of his POA/Dementor moment which I didn't like but Lupin's face with it's subtle emotions is really heartbreaking. I said it when I first posted on this thread and I'll say it again, David Thewlis does not look like I imagined Lupin but he was a brilliantly casted actor because he improves the movies so much with his portrayal of Lupin. He was one of the best aspects of the PoA movie and I finally believe after seeing this picture that he'll make me feel the emotions of Sirius's death when I watch the movie which I had been having a whole lot of doubts about.

Cheers

Re: David Thewlis as Remus Lupin

I reckon they made him look more scruffy because he is supposed to look thinner and more tired than in PoA.

I thought I'd spotted some scruff in the HBO scene a while back!

Ooo, I can't wait!

The new domestic trailer has a shot of Lupin in the DoM. I'll see if I can get a decent screencap.

Nice quality there....Lupin has gone a bit more scruffy hasn't he? He's got more of a beard now instead of just his 'stache....
Still looks amazingly cool, though(!!!).
Thanks for posting that!

Re: David Thewlis as Remus Lupin

That picture is actually really great. It makes me sad just looking at it, knowing very well what part it is in the story, and I can only imagine how emotional it's going to be in the theater!

I'm glad to see some scruff on Lupin, as well as a little weight gain! I think I'm going to like his look, despite the 'stache in the film! WOOT!

New OotP clip on ET with a nice, but brief, clip of Remus.

Re: David Thewlis as Remus Lupin

Nice to see that Remus is being used to convey at least some of the Potterverse history again. It fits well with canon, not only because he spoke extensively about the Marauders in PoA, but also because he trained Harry in Patronus summoning in the History of Magic classroom as well.

Re: David Thewlis as Remus Lupin

WOOT! We finally get to see a little shot of Remus! Even though the quality is quite poor it's still better than nothing! I think his look in this film is a little closer to how I pictured Lupin originally. It looks like they've changed his look a bit, more scruff, messier and slightly longer hair, and a little weight gain. All good changes in my opinion! I can even look past the fact that he still has the 'stache! Of couse, the addition of scruff makes it easier on the eyes

Here is a new photo of Remus, though he's kind of small in it. He's in the center of the second photo.

Yay!

Re: David Thewlis as Remus Lupin

He looks gruffy but good. But what's with the hair? He still hasn't left the 30s, has he?

I am very happy that he apparently has some scenes with Harry.

Re: David Thewlis as Remus Lupin

I think everything about David Thewlis is great except the mustache, but that's cause I don't like moustaches.

Young Remus Lupin is mine, though! YAY, James Utechin!

I can't believe that David Thewlis can't go to China because he was in this film called Seven Years in Tibet or something. He's been banned from setting foot there!

Re: David Thewlis as Remus Lupin

My biggest problem with him as Lupin is his appearance -- he's too healthy looking. I kind of got the impression that Lupin was a little on the skinny side. Other than that, I quite like him. Then again, the only impression I had of Lupin was his size so I wouldn't be all that hard to please.

Re: David Thewlis as Remus Lupin

Dearest Remus,
I love you and I know you only have like two outfits, but please get rid of that dingy old wool sweater/cardigan thing and get yourself a proper professor-style corduroy blazer. Also your hair looks better brushed back a bit ala kingwidgit's post or even a bit longer.

Thanks.

I actually rather like that dingy old wool sweater/cardigan thing. Looks comfy.

Re: David Thewlis as Remus Lupin

It looks kind of itchy and I bet it smells like mothballs. If he's going to wear sweaters I want them to be cuddly and smell like old books.
