Re: Initials and Nicknames

My first name is Melody. I have been called "Melanie" by those who find it hard to say my name. [being sarcastic] I have also been called Mel, Melbern?, Mellsey [by a British friend I had], Melodious, and Hardee-Har-Har because of my jubilant personality. [sarcasm again] And plenty of names that weren't so nice in school.

Re: Initials and Nicknames

My initials are KGJ....doesn't really sound like anything. LOL.

If I marry my b/f that I've been with for years my initials will be KGM unless I decide to keep my last name.

Anyway neither really sounds like anything.

No one has ever given me any nicknames based off of anything to do with my middle or last name.

Re: Initials and Nicknames

My initials are HVG. Nothing special about that.

But my sister's initials are REG, which had earned her the nicknames Reg, Reggie and Reginaldo. Literally everyone calls her Reggie; all the family, all her friends and even some of her teachers. Then when I mention her in conversation with someone new they always say, "You're sister's name is Reggie?" And then look at me really weird. I just tell them that yeah, that is her name.

Before I was born, my parents started calling me Bird, and I still sometimes get that from relatives... Other than that, I've just gone by my true name.

Re: Initials and Nicknames

My initials are RTP. I have a million nicknames, I have plenty of nicknames. My dad very much enjoys giving them to me. He calls me Chip (because he seems to think I looked like Chip from Chip and Dale when I was a baby) or Biggy (because I'm the oldest child). I'm also called Bella by some people (no idea why). And I'll stop here because it would take way too long to list all my nicknames

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old who is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed be the blade that was broken: The crownless again shall be king.

My initials are SHMS, which is the arabic word for Sun, .

When your name is Sarah, people never fail to come up with new nicknames for you. I've been called Soso, Sarasiro, Saroora, Siso, and the list goes on. My favourite nickname is Siro. I don't remember who came up with it, (probably my mother, but later it was adopted by my friends). Now it's become my official nickname; everyone who knows me well, always calls me Siro, .

JCW is my initials and Walshy my nickname.

The nickname is from my surname, which funnily enough, is 'Walsh'.

My initials are A.S. I thank God my parents didn't give me a middle name starting with S!

Re: Initials and Nicknames

I have too many nicknames, many of them not having anything to do with my actual name.

For instance, my real name is Elizabeth, and many people choose to call me Liz, Lizliz Lizzie, or Lizbeth.

But then, certain people also call me Mima and Riku. xDD

My son's initials are PAW and he always draws a little pawprint next to his signature.

Re: Initials and Nicknames

My initials don't spell anything (J.D.M.G.), but I have been called J.D. on occasion, and I tried to convince people to make it into a name in eighth grade by spelling it Jaydee.

My first name is Jennifer, and I'll answer to just about any nickname/pet form of the name that's out there, though I really don't like Jenny. I prefer Jenna, some of my more distant family members still call me Jenny, and I was just Jen in high school.

Also, when people insist on calling me Jen, I feel the need to specify that it is spelled with one n. Jenn looks silly to me, because there's no audible purpose for the second n.

Re: Initials and Nicknames

I've got one of those double-barrel first names so I'm often called Sarah, instead of Sarah-Jane, but it drives my mum crazy. I'm Sarah to my friends, or SJ or Say-Jay, but ALWAYS Sarah-Jane to my family. Sarah has often been shortened as Sazzy, Sazzy-Jazzles, Sabo, (when Subo became famous) and even Sahara, from when my friends spelt Sarah wrong when we were young.

My gran's got the same name as my mum, so to differentiate between the two, my papa always called my gran 'Doc' as her maiden name was Docherty. Hence, every Christmas or birthday, we buy her loads of Snow White merchandise XD

My initials aren't too exciting, but I knew a girl with the initials JAM, which was funny. Her name was Jenna, but she was called Gina, because a teacher once mispronounced her name on the register on our first day of high school. Another girl, Samantha, her intials spelled SAM, which was her nickname

Angel (from my cousin)
Christopher(from the club)
Lubo (form my first duty station in Germany)
Crinkle (not sure why, from childhood by supposed friends)
