Re: Funniest lines in the films?

I loved the how the "Emotional Range of a Teaspoon" line was delievered and the trio's aughter was priceless.

"You have to admit he's got style" was great too. The whole theater busted out laughing.

Re: Funniest lines in the films?

My favourite funny lines, from PoA:

Snape charges majestically into the Defence Against Dark Arts classroom, robes a-billow, slamming the door behind him and charming the window blinds shut. Then he turns to face the class and spits out: "Turn to page 394" (making it sound like a death threat ).

After a spat with Hermione, he then tells the class they have to submit an essay on werewolves. Groans of dismay and protest ensue.

Harry: "But sir! It's Quidditch tomorrow!"
Snape (swooping down on him like a bat and hissing into Harry's face): "Then I suggest you take extra care, Mr Potter. Loss of limb will not excuse you."

And the lines are funny anyway, but oh, Rickman's delivery.

Another line that always amuses me is Moaning Myrtle in the CoS film saying how she was "hiding in a U-bend, thinking about death".

Only Alan Rickman could make a page number sound so menacing and like a death threat.

You forgot the "Page 394" at the end of that last. That was amazing.

I swear, Dan's "Bubble juice" line in GoF got me every time. You smart-aleck, you.

Re: Funniest lines in the films?

All of these are Order of the Phoenix lines

Ron: Hermione I hate your cat

Bellatrix: You dare speak his name? YOU FILTHY HALFBLOOD(the delivery)

Kingsley: Dumbledore's got style

Hermione: Ron! That was clever!
Ron: It's been known to happen.
(Reminds me of the "Always the tone of surprise" in Deathly Hallows)

Snape: I may vomit!

Hermione: You found it Neville: the Room of Requirement. It becomes available to anyone who really needs it
Ron: So say you really needed the toilet...
Hermione: Charming Ronald. But yes, that is the general idea

Hermione: Just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon.

Ron: Who are you and what have you done with Hermione Granger?

Hermione Granger: GRAWP!
[Grawp looks in her face]
Hermione Granger: PUT! ME! DOWN!
[pause]
Hermione Granger: Now!
[Grawp complies]
Harry Potter: [while Hermione comes back in the midst of the trio] Seems you've got an admirer!

Dumbledore: Albus Percival Wulfric...
[Pause]
Dumbledore: Brian... Dumbledore

Umbridge: "You first tried for the Defense Against the Dark Arts post?"
Snape: "Yes."
Umbridge: "But you were unsuccessful?"
Snape: "Obviously."

You forgot the Ron line afterwards: "You...stay away from her...all right?"

Harry Potter: My father was a great man!
Severus Snape: Your father was a SWINE.

LOL. I got this mental image of Harry having a pig for a father. It was really funny. xD

Its during the scene in OotP when Snape is teaching Harry Occlumency sees into Harry's mind for the 3rd time. Right before he discovers Snape's memory

Re: Funniest lines in the films?

Alot of it is funny.. But this one cracks me up everytime.

POA
In Professor Trelawney's Divination Class
When she asks Ron to read Harry's cup and he describes :

"Harry's got sort of a Wonky Cross.. That's Trials and Suffering.. and that there could be the sun, that means Happiness... So.. you're gonna suffer but you're gonna be happy about it"

Re: Funniest lines in the films?

One of my all time favourites is from Harry in PoA:

"Poor Professor Lupin ... he's having a really bad day"

Always makes me chuckle - the the British penchant for understatement, brilliantly delivered.

Re: Funniest lines in the films?

Lots of Snape's lines make me smile, mostly because of Alan Rickman's delivery, as quite a few people have said.
Having just finished watching GOF on tv, I have to say that I laughed out loud at Sirius's letter, voice over by Gary Oldman, after Harry is nipped by the owl..
PS. The owl bites.

Re: Funniest lines in the films?

My favourite line is when Sirius is talking about Peter and he points at Ron and says and he's right there, then Ron says what me it's mental.

By the way canismajor do you live in New Zealand

Re: Funniest lines in the films?

It's not a line but I remember the audience in the cinema laughing at Neville's boggart coming out of the wardrobe as Snape in drag!

I'm not from New Zealand, Alicks, I'm in the UK...New Zealand looks like a beautiful place, I'd love to go there.
