Re: What will be the scene that will bring you the most tears in DH Part 2?

I really welled up at the scene when the twins are standing preparing for battle and George asks Fred if he's alright. The way you can see the tears in both their eyes and the fear. Knowing what was coming made me well up.

Another kind of random scene to well up in was when McGonagall said, 'I've always wanted to use that spell.' Because even though it's funny you can hear the fear and sadness behind it. It just made me really feel it all coming to a close.

I cried at Snape's death and when he found Lily's body. The moment where he falls against the wall at the sight of her body.

Also, Hermione's line "I'll come with you" broke my heart. It shows the utter devotion and love and her crying was heartbreaking. The look that Ron and Harry exchange in that scene was perfect.

Ron's sobbing over Fred's body and the look on Mrs Weasley's face reduced me to tears in that scene, and the sight on Lupin and Tonks pale with their hands almost touching.

Finally, when the trio stood on the bridge at the end, looking out. That was a true goodbye scene. A moment to reflect that their childhood is over and, for me, so is mine now really. It was the same in the epilogue, that last shot of their faces with Leaving Hogwarts in the background. A perfect end.

Re: What will be the scene that will bring you the most tears in DH Part 2?

Aw hell, i got sentimental when the Warner brother's logo came up, so you can imagine how much of a human hosepipe i must have resembled after watching the rest of the movie!

Perhaps surprisingly, the scene that affected me the most wasn't Snape's death/memories, or the resurrection stone scene, or even the epilogue.

It was the scene in the courtyard where Harry, Ron and Hermione are running through the battle to get to the Boathouse.

I got really nostalgic during that moment as it reminded me of when those characters were merely children, walking across that same courtyard to go to their lessons, racing across those cobbled stones to get into the great hall to see the goblet of fire choose the champions, or the place where they stood and cheered with delight as Fred and George flew away from Hogwarts leaving a stream of fireworks in their wake.

And then i had to watch as that same courtyard was being dessicated, wand blasts turning walls to rubble and watching the trio race through all that destruction. And in that moment i still saw them as those 11 year old children, their innocence stripped from them, forced to fight for their survival.

The music was absolutley heart-wrenching during that scene too. There was a moment where the music swelled when Hermione blasted Greyback off of a student and as the trio ran past, the body of Lavender Brown was revealed and i'm afraid to say that that moment broke me.

I was an emotional wreck by the end of the film.

I hardly could cry at Fred's death, it was so quick, and barely even 'there'.

Oh yeah. It killed me when I saw that scene. He grabbed her dead body in his arms. It was just so sad and heartbreaking. Didn't cry though.

This scene killed me too. Hermione just launches herself at Harry, and she looked like she didn't want to let him go. Ron just looked so resigned and upset. He looks like he has all intention to stop Harry, but he knows it must be done. He's like "I lost my brother, now I'm losing my best friend." Really heartbreaking all around.

Oh yeah. I never thought I would be this moved at Fred's death, but surprisingly, I was.

The Resurrection Stone scene was the one that very nearly brought me to tears. I was literally biting the inside of my cheeks, WILLING myself not to cry, when all I wanted to do was to throw myself on the floor and weep.

When Harry was walking into the Great Hall, i couldn't hold it back anymore. But the scene was really quick, 30 more seconds and i would have been sobbing.

Then the epilogue, when i heard 'Leaving Hogwarts' i realized that there is no more Harry Potter. So sad

Yes, that scene was so sad. It annoyed me at first how they added it (as all of you will know, it wasn't in the book) but it grew on me because I felt it was important to show the audience how distraught Ron and Hermione were and how their love for one another was stronger than ever. That scene definitely reduced me to tears.

I forgot about the resurrection stone scene! the lines in that that killed me were:

Harry: Why are you here?

Lily: We never left

...

Harry: Does it hurt, dying?

Sirius: Quicker than falling asleep.

The way Harry's voice cracked in that line to Sirius was perfect. It showed him admitting his terror which made it so much more believable. It was that scene that really returned him to being a little boy to me - and I promptly burst into tears.

He had me sobbing, especially When he was holding lily after she died and he was crying. I was a mess to the point I had to clean my 3d glasses!
Ditto... All the while trying not to let anyone beside me notice.

I started crying when McGonagall and the OtP start protecting the castle casting the protection spells! it was so emotional how it was all covered up with that sort of love bubble!
From that moment on, I kept crying!!

As previously mentioned, the resurrection stone scene especially Harry's apology to Remus. I cry every time I read that scene and it had the exact same effect in the movie portrayal. When Ron sobs over Fred and the (5-7sec shot) of Remus and Tonks Thinking about it makes me teary lol

When was I NOT in tears?

I started crying, like Fenix, when they put the defenses up. I don't know how everyone else felt about that scene, but having such a strong connection to the series and characters, it felt like it was my school and my friends getting ready to fight, it was really emotional.

I burst into tears when Lavender died, I wasn't expecting that at all. The whole Courtyard Apocalypse sequence was devastating, just seeing the school crumble and the students dying. Then the ending broke me down completely - seeing them standing on the bridge, holding hands, then sending off their children, it was just a perfect ending.

Re: What will be the scene that will bring you the most tears in DH Part 2?

The scene where Harry "dies" and encounters Dumbledore in a cleaner version of King's Cross. Not because it was sad... but because they RUINED it. This was supposed to be a very enlightening scene. And they explained as little as they could get away with.

Not to mention, Michael Gambon fails miserably at portraying the emotion that I think Dumbledore should have portrayed here. I really think he ruined that character for me... Which sucks, because Dumbledore was always my favorite in the books. But I can't stand him in the movies.

I mean this was supposed to be the scene, the ONLY scene in the entire series that Dumbledore chokes up. We finally see a side of him that's not perfect. And they practically skipped the whole damn thing.

RIP Richard Harris.

I SOBBED in that scene. It had been so long since I read DH that I had forgotten the stone was in the snitch. I literally gasped when it floated out and then when Harry saw the four standing around him I knew! When he was talking to his mother tears just poured out! And when Sirius pointed to Harry's heart and told him they would always be "there" OMG! So emotional and powerful!

I've see the film 3 times now, and I seeing Fred dead and everyone crying around him has caused me too loose it every time. I get a bit better, the dry again when Snape's is holding lilts dead body and then again when Harry is on his way to die. Oh and definitely the showed he school burning (every time) and at heed whentheyreall standing there.. And... You know, I basically cry for most of the movie.

Re: What will be the scene that will bring you the most tears in DH Part 2?

Ok well now that I've seen it three times and cried during the same scenes...I can't wait to see it for a 4th!

Every single time I've teared up during the very first scene while Lily's Theme is playing and we see Snape -- just heartbreaking. And then it gets worse once the HPDH 2 logo comes up because the music picks up and I kind of fall apart there.

Alright, Statues kills me every time. We see all these old faces coming together and uniting to protect Hogwarts, it's so sad! Also I think I've not been in a good state during Courtyard Apocalypse because I know what's coming. I've been shaking through that part because it's quite scary for me, actually

Surprisingly, I didn't cry during Snape's death, which I thought I would. Going into TPT, I was fine. Little Snape and Lily (adorable!) Teared up a bit when we hear Lily laughing. Teared up again when it showed that moving picture of Lily and James in the fall.
I was fine again up until Snape and DD's discussion about Harry having to die. I tear up right away and when it starts the Godric's Hollow flashbacks, I'm done. I've actually missed the last few minuntes of TPT every time because I've been crying so hard. The first time I saw it I actually sobbed out loud when it showed Snape rocking Lily's body just because I couldn't hold it back. The third time I nearly did the same thing -- I was just trying to be quiet. So yeah, the last 2-4 minutes of TPT you just don't want to be near me.

The first and second times I saw the Forest Again I didn't cry at all. The third time I did when Sirius said "We're in here, you see."

The second and third times I cried during the Epilogue, and the third time was really bad. Leaving Hogwarts kills me.

Re: What will be the scene that will bring you the most tears in DH Part 2?

I've seen it three times now too.

The first time, I started crying at seeing Fred dead in the Great Hall. That's the part that killed me the most in the book as well, and I wept for months every time I thought of Fred. So no surprises there.

I cried throughout quite a bit of The Prince's Tale. I'm not sure where it started. I was definitely weeping by the time of the Godric's Hollow sequence, intercut with the conversation between Snape and Dumbledore.

I cried during The Forest Again - which also always "gets me" in the book.

Even though I'm a big fan of Snape, I have never cried during his death - either on screen or in the book. I think I'm always just so shocked and kind of hyperventilating that I can't even cry. (Not shocked that he dies but shocked at the sheer brutality and callousness of it). Each time I've watched his death on screen, I've found that my jaw is wide open at the end of it.

On second and third viewing, there was another scene that also brought me to tears: seeing Hermione blast Fenrir. What "gets me" about it is knowing Hermione's history with Lavender. But none of that matters now. Lavender is on our side, and Fenrir is not going to defile her. I just find it so moving that I break down in tears. I think it's an awesome Hermione moment.

BTW, the first time I saw the film, I was with an audience comprised obviously of fans. The theater was dead silent as Harry went into the Headmaster's office and sent the Pensieve to the desk. But as soon as Harry lifted his arm to pour out the memories, I could hear the sniffles starting throughout the theater. We hadn't seen a single memory yet, and the audience was starting to weep. I have to say, it's one of the most awesome movie moments of my life!
