Re: Things you liked best about DH part 2

Just saw it again today.

I just loved that frantic, manic feeling of the castle once Harry arrives to Hogwarts. Students running around everywhere. Death eaters trying to invade.

And then once the battle gets going...
Death eaters, dementors, giant spiders, giants...Everything was just pure chaos. I loved it. Really brought to life the way I pictures things in the book.

God, I loved this film so much. I'm so ready for the DVD so I can watch Part 1 and 2 back to back.

Re: Things you liked best about DH part 2

Probably my favorite moments are from when the trio enter the Room of Requirements until the protections being put up. This would include Harry stepping out in the Great Hall and the Mcgonagall/Snape duel. Snape had some good expression there like he pulled out his wand to give Harry the memories, but then Mcgonagall stepped in and he was like oh no, so he just blocked hard throwing the spells to the floor and took out the Carrows on his way out the window.

I also liked how Hermione kept calling Ron brilliant when they told Harry about getting the basilisk fang and he gave them the map.

I also really liked the professors putting up the protections, especially Molly standing there shooting the spell up in the air. That was all very well done.

It was the way in which he delivered the lines and looked at Snape full on in the face with so much intensity. Bravo!! Dan totally killed that scene.

The statues moving.

McGonagall protecting Harry.

Neville: "Yeah? You and what army?"

Snape holding Lily; probably the best way to show, rather than tell, the essence of the series.

Harry's courage.

Re: Things you liked best about DH part 2

Things I adored:

- Lily's Theme
- Musical references to the other films.
- "You listen to me, Harry Potter!"
- "Boom?" "BOOM!"
- "You have your mother's eyes."
- Am I one of the only people that enjoyed the Harry/Voldemort face merge? Very creepy.
- Pretty much all of The Prince's Tale, minus little Severus being all creepy in the shadows in the first few scenes.
- Creepy guy in Hogsmeade that yelled "POTTER!"
- The amount of dialogue that was faithful to the books.

Amen to that. Especially in The Forest Again and King's Cross. Couldn't help but cheer when lines from the book were used by Dumbledore. Those were some amazing lines.

Also something that warmed my heart were the numerous callbacks through the movie. Cornish Pixies, Chocolate Frog jumping onto the train window, mention of Seamus Finnigan's "pyrotechnics"...

.

Huh? By that I mean, I never thought Snape was trying to give Harry memories in this scene.

I do because i don't think he was trying to attack him. I think he was trying to get in his head.

I definitely don't think he was going to attack him... perhaps reveal his true loyalty by intentionally blowing his cover and conjuring his patronus. That would have given Harry a clue. I think using Legilimens would probably have gotten him killed before accomplishing what he was trying to do, so I don't think that's what would have happened. It would have made no sense for others to stand there while he cast a spell at Harry.

Re: Things you liked best about DH part 2

Loved Snape, all his scenes were so good, but esp his death scene.

The Prince's Tale=awesome. So moving, esp when he holds Lily.

Ron and Hermione's kiss.

Luna puts her foot down!

Neville just plain rocks.

I love the scene where Neville's sitting there grinning and Luna sits down next to him and fidgets.

Fred and George together.

Hermione as Bellatrix.

Molly's great line.

Harry after the pensieve and in the forest.

The epilogue, except for how Ron just stood there with that silly expression. Other than that...

I was thrilled about Dumbledores lines. Kings Cross is one of the finest pieces of literature I've ever read.

I liked Dumbledore's lines too. But I wish they'd put in a bit more about the whole sacrifice thing, explained that more.

I don't disagree with you, but i do think that Snape was trying to cast a spell at Harry and since i don't think he was trying to attack him it makes more sense that he was either trying to get into his head or trying to give him the memories.

The Prince's Tale was my favorite part of the entire film and series. Alan Rickman's performance did it justice. Other scenes I loved include:

Harry talking to Albus Severus Potter at the train station

Ron and Hermione in the CoS

Neville killing Nagini and facing Scabior

Gringotts

Kings Cross

Uh...The Prince's Tale.

SOME of the humor, other parts were misplaced.

Dragon's Flight. Reminds you of Buckbeaks flight with the same type of music from PoA, no?

Now I have to come back to this...Everything leading up to/away from TPT. I love how there is virtually no music while he's putting the memories in the Pensieve and after he's watched them.

Voldemort pushing a giant over the bridge..Okay, that was kind of weird, but I suppose it works.

Something really small...when Harry appears in the clearing where Voldemort is right before he gets hit with the AK, there is a shot of Hagrid. Then Hagrid says "HARRY NO, WHAT'RE YEH DOIN' HERE?!" And that just made me want to cry because the delivery was amazing. He sounded mad and scared at the same time and it was just brilliant.

I know everyone has already said this, but the Prince's Tale was great. Alan Rickman did a fantastic job.

I also liked the scene with the Resurrection Stone.

I really enjoyed this movie, though I felt like it was about to end the entire time. I'm going to watch it again on Wednesday.

^This!! The little moments always become some of my favorite scenes. The way he delivered this line was so emotional.
Others for me:
-The way TPT all flowed together, how even though the dialogue was shortened, the presentation was delivered in such a way to make the audience understand what was going on. And of course, Alan Rickman's performance was the best of the whole serious. I also liked how they incorporated scenes from past movies, especially the Silver Doe and "Your father was a swine!"
-The way Dumbledore looked at Snape after he cast his Patronus.
-The Snape vs. Harry confrontation....and the way Harry stood out of line. It was probably my favorite non-canon scene in the series.
-The forest again....just as emotional as I was hoping it would be.
-McGonnagal summoning the statues
-The soundtrack...the old and the new...especially "Lily's Theme" and "Statues".

"For him?” shouted Snape. “Expecto Patronum!” From the tip of his wand burst the silver doe: She landed on the office floor, bounded once across the office, and soared out of the window. Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears. “After all this time?” “Always,” said Snape.

Re: Things you liked best about DH part 2

The entire movie was awesome, but my favorite parts:

-McGonagall bringing those stone warriors to life to defend the school. Such an epic scene.

-The flashback of Snape's life (as basically everyone here has mentioned). Almost came to tears, especially when he was holding Lily with Harry crying in the background.

-Harry telling his son that he was named after Snape, probably the bravest man he had ever known.
