Re: The Legend of Zelda
I got it when it first came out. I like it a lot, but wish it was a bit longer.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I really enjoyed playing Wind Waker. I first got it while in my last couple weeks of pregnancy with my first son, and I have video of him watching me play it during the weeks after he was born.
![]() It's a game I can let him play now, too. (He's four years old now.) Dragon Roost Cavern was a fun dungeon, I thought.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
*Points to my avy* Every board I'm on, I have this avatar of Link or either my other one.
I've been a fan of the series ever since I played A Link to the Past. Ironically,my earliest exposure to the LoZ games was through the first one. My best friend, at the time's, older brother had it for the Nintendo. I played it, and found it "boring". I was also still six or so at the time. I appreciated it more when older.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I like every zelda game in different ways.
To example, i like the legend of zelda to nes because.. it's the zelda game I think is the hardest, and.. it was the first game I ever played. I like A link to the past because it is so cute. Ocarina of time, probably one of the best game i know, and twilight princess is funny because it's a different way to play the game. Ofc, there are many other zelda games, but these for is probably the most famous and the one I likes best. I like the games and I love the story. Like I said, zelda was the first game I ever played when I was four years old on Nes. I have been a fan since then.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
So I've been playing the new DS LoZ game, Spirit Tracks...
It's fun, but...kind of disappointing? I've already gone through three temples and it seems too easy. It's still fun, and my kids love to watch me play because so much of it is on the train and they're into trains at the moment, but I was hoping for more. I guess I'll say more once I've beaten the game, which at this point, doesn't look all that far off. ![]()

Re: The Legend of Zelda
It Looks pretty fun to me. maybe its just like Assassins Creed. you do the same thing over and over again but then as the story unfolds it gets really exciting.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
Quote:
Confused? I'll elaborate. If I were to list the best, most memorable games I've ever played, OoT would be in my top 5 (though it'd probably be at the #5 spot) while ALttP would just be in the top 10 or 15. However, if I were asked to name a game that, if played, would typify and exemplify everything that a Zelda game is meant to be, the epitome of Zelda gameplay, ALttP would be my definite choice, with OoT in a very, very distant 2nd. To be honest, the only Zeldas I've played are the original two for the NES, ALttP, Link's Awakening, OoT, and Majora's Mask. Of the bunch, the only two I really consider great games are ALttP and OoT, both of which are fascinating and memorable experiences, almost even on the level of the strongest FF games. I find Majora's Mask actively painful, as in hearing its central town's music actually gives me a migraine and its "reset your file every 3 days" aspect is ridiculous. There's no good reason for it and it kills the gameplay. The main reason I haven't played the later ones (which I define as anything after Majora's Mask) is that I don't have the systems in question, but honestly the only one I'd play given the opportunity is probably Twilight Princess. The rest (Four Swords, Minish Cap, Wind Waker, etc.) all look like they were designed with 5-year-olds in mind, at least artistically speaking. If someone can clarify the assets of those games for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Last edited by APolaris; July 6th, 2010 at 5:32 pm. |

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I'm still in love with this series...like 19 years on.
I've been playing it since i was so young, and watching my brother play it before that when I was too young to play. We used to stay up so late, the whole family watching my brother play Zelda. My favourite game is ocarina of time, can't count the amount of times i've completed it. I really liked Majora's mask too but I never completed it because I got really busy with work at school. Twilight Princes was in one word, beautiful, I was in love with it. Im really looking forward to the new one, Skyward Sword ![]()

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I've honestly got my suspicions. It seems with each game they say, "we're totally changing the Zelda formula", then it's another formulaic game. It's not that I don't enjoy the game, I just wouldn't mind trying something new with Zelda.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I've only ever played two Zelda games- A Link to the Past (on the GBA) and the first one that came out on the DS, I forget what it was called (Was it Phantom Hourglass?)
They were enjoyable enough, but I ended up selling them because I got stuck. That's just what I do with computer games- I buy them, I get stuck, I sell them, I miss them, I buy them... I haven't tried any Zelda games for a good few years, I've been too busy working my way through the FF games. Hmm...I think it might be worth a retry at some point...

Re: The Legend of Zelda
Skyward Sword was a lot of fun. I got the nice guide that comes with a cloth map, and the special edition of the game that came with a shiny golden Wiimote. It's my precioussss and no kids are allowed to touch it.
I actually haven't beaten the game yet, though. I was trying to get the Hylian sword before I go for the final battle, but keep getting my butt handed to me on a platter. Once in a while I'll give it a go again, but I have yet to get beyond passing six of the eight required boss fights. I did replay Twilight Princess a couple of times, though. I absolutely love that game. On this last playthrough, I even finished the pit of trials you can visit in the desert.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
I finally got a Switch last week, but haven't started BotW yet - I'm worried I'll get started and my Switch will need repairs and then bye-bye time invested.
Of course, considering the fact that I'm sinking that time into MK8 right now isn't helpful either...
