It's OK Beefy. You have 7 lines in your sig.
And it's max seven lines of text you are allow to have. You could also put a blank line between them. Only the lines with the text count.

Just as TENSHI said: It's seven lines of written text, with or without spaces, and it's seven lines of text on the 'expanded' version.

To check the amount of lines in your sig, to make sure you're in compliance with sig rules, simply select
CoSForums [Expanded] skin, and check one of your posts.

You can also squeeze in a lot of text by using size 1.

Right. But you can save some time by going directly after switching to Expanded to Magical Me > Edit Signature and look at the preview there. If it needs editing you are already in the right place for doing it.

And also remember that things like ____________, ============= or ^^ et.c. count as text lines too.

Do smilies count as a line of text?

You have three lines. 'Spoiler', one line in the spoiler box and 'Jack Jessica'.

Tiberius. Smilies picked from the Forum spoiler list count as smilies (you may have four of them) and smilies from other sources count as images (one allowed).

I tried this, but I use the Half-Blood Prince skin, and it will not expand, so it will show more lines than are there.

Only these skins 'expand':
- CoS[Lite]
- CoS House Styles:
-- Gryffindor
-- Hufflepuff
-- Slytherin
-- Ravenclaw
- Stylemarillion

Try the one called 'CoSForums [Expanded]'

Patience with one of your lower-tech-savvy members: if only one piece of art is allowed in a siggy, and non-COS smileys count as art, do COS smileys count in the signature? I am so easily confused by these things...

Thanks!

You can have up to 4 CoS smilies in your signature. Off-site smilies count as an image.

Do empty lines in your signature (enter, return) count towards the 7 lines of text?

Yeah, I know. I just wanted to know if I could include some space between different things in my sig and still be within the 7 line rule.

Re: Comments on: Signatures

An empty line between things is OK. But we need to use common sense and give a thought to our fellow members who scroll up or down the page reading posts. If two thirds of the scrolling is just passing by half-empty sigs, then we could ask ourselves if those sigs could be improved a bit.

Am I allowed to make a signature that advertises another website? I was pretty sure I can, but I wanted to check before I post it.

So long as the website is family friendly, then yeah.
