add to that i find him very sweet and annoyingly lovable...how couldnt i love him....
Oh I never said I hated him...just can't stand him much I did hate it when he died though.

And yeah Nigel does seem like a Creevey replacement so I'm pretty sure he's gonna get killed in the next one (Wait I mean the one AFTER the next one )

I just find that character hilarious. He's moved from random extra to a part of the movie world...genius! Nigel is gonna have his own storyline in DH (Heck we have 2 movies to develop him now )

Nigel can kick Harry Potter's butt!

Did you see OOTP? He BLEW Harry away!

Nigel will kill Voldemort. It Dosen't matter who kills Voldemort for the story. Just a generic heroic underdog kid.

NIGEL is not only a prince...he is a KING!

true, true...i don't think they do much in HBP, but collin dies in DH, so maybe they'll bring nigel back for that? or maybe they'll throw him in as an extra gryffindor...
Yeah, that would be real funny!!!

Well, we still don't know who the heck those red-head twins are

I'm not telling

I do realize that I don't have Nigel in it yet...I should've made the kid who gave Harry and Neville the letter on the train into Nigel I'll find somewhere to put him

Ok, now you're going a bit overboard.

Yeah, he BLEW him away with a Stupefy that should've,

knocked Harry UNCONSCIOUS and required Rennervate (they missed introducing this spell too)

Sorry, I still can't get over the effect of this damn spell, it's so wrong and too similar to every other spell in the movies

You completely missed the point of the entire SERIES!!!

This is a story about how a young boy named Nigel rises up and becomes a GOD!

This Potter kid is only a stupid book subplot and can easily be cut.

Oh stop being such a purist I'd forgotten what Stupefy even did

Honestly I've just come to expect that pretty much every spell is going to throw them back in the films...it just looks cool. Look at the dueling club scene in COS. The spells just kept throwing them back...although a few added flips and turns makes it exciting lol.

Just be glad Avada Kadavra doesn't just give you a bad itch in the films...now THAT would be a problem

Ok, I admit, you're last sentence really cracked me up, yeah THAT would be a problem.

I'm not a purist, it's just I see it as a problem when the MAIN offensive spell of the good guys does NOTHING but throw them back.

Seriously, what use is that???

At least, Stupefy in the Books knocks them out breifly or until someone Renervates them.

I too find this pathetic...just cause if worked once...cant they get creative ...and if they are going to chage the effects of spells at least get a bit of variety...

How DARE YOU! I'm going to be crying BUCKETS like Hagrid!!!

And for your information, Phrozenone, Avada Kedvra pushes you back too in the films.

That's it! I'm creating a Nigel fanclub! Who wants to join??

Well I never said it didn't

Actually I said pretty much every spell in the films does...but u can't say that AK gives you a bad itch..unless death counts as the ultimate bad itch...then I am wrong.

But u do bring up something that I was saying. I think it's just common for us to assume someone gets knocked back when they're hit with something. It makes whatever it is seem more powerful.

I mean look at Expelliarmus. They've done so many different things with that spell in the films You just kinda have to just sit back and enjoy

Ummmm, ok, but does anyone want to answer my question?

Oh, and the more I looked at Expelliarmus is actually is portrayed correctly,

I thought for sure it was wrong for it to throw them back, but I was mistaken!

Quote:
Both of them swung their wands above their heads and pointed them at their opponent; Snape cried: "Expelliarmus!" There was a dazzling flash of scarlet light and Lockhart was blasted off his feet: He flew backward off the stage, smashed into the wall, and slid down it to sprawl on the floor. (CoS pg 190/142)

Harry made up his mind in a split second. Before Snape could take even one step toward him, he had raised his wand. "Expelliarmus!" he yelled -- except that his wasn't the only voice that shouted. There was a blast that made the door rattle on its hinges; Snape was lifted off his feet and slammed into the wall, then slid down it to the floor, a trickle of blood oozing from under his hair. He had been knocked out. Harry looked around. Both Ron and Hermione had tried to disarm Snape at exactly the same moment. (PoA pg 361/265)

I personally hate it...spells should do what they are supposed to do...

Re: The All-Inclusive HBP Movie Thread v.6

maybe it was too graphic to be knocking kids out? that's why it just throws them back? i guess it would kind of hurt when you fell, but other than that...
or MAYBE they cut the part where they get rennervated or whatever?

Well the 'use' of it is that when the good guys hit the bad guys with this spell and it knocks them back we say 'YAY!'

It's pretty much that simple. I doubt we'll ever see a big wizard battle in the films where they'll calling out spells though so I don't think it matters much.

true, in the big battles in HBP and DH, they'd probably use silent spells to attack the DEs...
