I'm getting the collector's edition for sure! I got $300 for my graduation from my grandmother, and I can't think of anything better to spend it on. This works out wonderfully.

I love how it's already nicked the two top spots on Amazon's best sellers list. Even a $100 book is beating out the others!

I really, really want the special edition! Its so beautiful! I wonder if the number of copies will last three years, that way I can buy won with the trust fund I have setup! If not, then I'll just put up with the regular version, its just as good I think!

Re: The Tales of Beedle the Bard book

Hello standard edition. And that's if I can get my hands on it through the book store here, but that shouldn't be a problem as they do allow me to order Quidditch Though The Ages and Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them under the American publisher.

In Canada, the $100 version is currently the best selling book on Amazon. Come to think of it, it's kind of magical that the book costs the same in US and CDN dollars. The Standard Version has a different cover in Canada than in the US (the same as the UK version).

I'm going to have to make a decision soon about which version to order. These things are selling like hot cakes.

Yeah I was happily surprised that it cost the same in Canada as in the US. Though I much prefer the UK/Canadian cover of the standard edition. I don't like how on the American one it has the Harry Potter logo on the front.

Anyways, I just ordered my collector's edition and I'm already too excited for this.

I'm so excited about this! I'll definitely end up buying the collector's edition, against my better judgment; I can't resist when it comes to Harry Potter merchandise. I'll probably also buy the standard addition, as I'll be too afraid to even touch the collector's

I want to translate it! The publishing house which translated the HP novels butchered them completely! This must not happen with Dumbledore's notes!!!!!!!

You can have an introduction arguing whether it's canon or not

Same here! Actually, I just checked amazon.com and .ca. The American standard is $12.99, reduced to $7.59. The Canadian standard is $14.50, reduced to $7.25! I think that's the first time ever something has been cheaper on amazon.ca than .com!

Re: The Tales of Beedle the Bard book

I'm very excited, but I will not be getting the collector's edition. If it was $20 or $30 maybe, but $100 is too much for a few pages.

I am definitely getting this (probably the cheaper one) from Amazon.com. My mother is an "Amazon Associate" so we can get it for even cheaper.

Re: The Tales of Beedle the Bard book

According to what Leaky now has up on it. The Collector's Edition is mainly a replica of the original with Jo's original forward. The Standard Edtion has a new forward by Jo and all kinds of new info and sidenotes by "Dumbledore" in it.

Well, it looks interesting and I'll probaly buy it when it hits the bookstores. It would be interesting to learn more about the wizarding world.

How does one attain such status?
