Re: The Simpsons

In the kwik-e-mart, Snake told Apu "give me your money, and don't try anything", then Apu said "ok ok don't shoot me..."

Apu's hand moved under his desk and he pushed the silent alarm button.

But just then, a big announcment in the store screamed: SILENT ALARM ACTIVATED!!!!

lol I love that one.

Nice one ... A loud silent alarm . A definite oxymoron right there .

Re: The Simpsons

The episodes aren't as great as they used to be. I used to watch them every Sunday when the new one aired, but then they started to go down hill. I only ever watch the reruns. I don't really look forward to the new ones anymore. However, the movie was okay.

I had a cat named Snowball...
She died!
She died!
Mom said she was sleeping...
She lied!
She lied!
Why oh why is my cat dead?
Couldn't that Chrysler hit me instead?

Re: The Simpsons

The Simpsons was one of those things that I enjoyed watching when I was smaller, but that now I've grown out of slightly. I'll watch it when it's on tv for a re run, but I dn't see the new episodes all that often. It has a huge fanbase and rightly so, that show was awesome in its old days. I just think that everything runs its course- and I think this one did some years ago, sadly. Nothing else could explain where my affection for it went to at such high speed.

I think the movie came closest to the old humour that we had known so well in the older episodes, so I did enjoy that, to be honest!

I also agree. When I was younger I really like the Simpsons, even though I guess I didn't get some of the jokes due to my age. Now, I'd rather watch a re-run than a new episode. Too me they just don't have the same qualities the Simpson's episodes used to have. My favourite episodes were always the Halloween ones, but I'm afraid I've been somewhat disappointed with the new ones in the past few years.

Homer: Dear god of England. Please let me go. In return I will spell color with a 'u'

Re: The Simpsons

I don't bother watching new episodes anymore, but I still occasionally watch re-runs.

Homer: Are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Ham?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal.
Homer: Heh heh heh. Ooh, yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

Homer: Aw, twenty dollars! I wanted a peanut!
Homer's Brain: Twenty dollars can buy many peanuts!
Homer: Explain how!
Homer's Brain: Money can be exchanged for goods and services!
Homer: Woo-hoo!

Homer: Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.

Homer: Lisa, would you like a donut?
Lisa: No thanks. Do you have any fruit?
Homer: This has purple in it. Purple is a fruit.

Re: The Simpsons

I can't sit through the new episodes anymore, but love to watch the re-runs which I've seen about a million times each. Was a huge fan back in the day. I did really like the movie though and I was expecting it to be awful.

Re: The Simpsons

The movie was actually really good. I had high expectations, but I came out a fan, it was excellent. I just can't understand why so many people didn't like it. It was really in the spirit of the old Simpsons jokes and everything. What season of the tv series are we on now? I wonder when/if it will end...

Wow, I guess they will keep making it while it keeps rating. It really should have been let go about 10 years ago though.

Re: The Simpsons

I think it has come to the time to say goodbye to it. I think the last episode I saw was about casting votes in the election and Homer was trying to cast for Obama but instead he managed to cast 6 votes for McCain. It was a very good episode (Treehouse of Horror, perhaps?), but prior to that I hadn't seen a good one in a long time.

Then again, where would I be of a boring Sunday morning if the Simpsons reruns weren't available!!

Re: The Simpsons

I have recently watched season 11, 12 and 13. 11 isn't bad, 12 is slightly better I think, and some of the episodes in 13 are just far too weird...

Re: The Simpsons

i love the simpsons. I watch a few episodes before bed every night, it helps me sleep. I wish Conan still wrote for it though. I think i like Lisa and Marge the best.

Re: The Simpsons

My favourite character is Lisa, closely followed by Homer and Ralph Wiggum
