Check out this sneak peak of Josh Holloway on next week's episode, A Fist Full of Paintballs. Can't wait!

Re: Community

I thought this episode was good. It felt like a bit of a filler episode even though it surrounded something as big as Shirley going into labor. Maybe that's because I'm assuming it's between the two "great" episodes - the one from last week and the finale. My favorite part was when Abed said that he had delivered a baby "in the background." So meta, I love it.

I didn't see the video because I want to remain unspoiled for what seems to be an epic episode. I can't get over the fact that Sawyer/Josh Holloway is going to guest star.

Loved that, too! Though I thought the conversation went something like this (completely paraphrased from my memory and probably not near the direct quotes at all):

Abed: I delivered a baby last semester.
Troy: What?? Where was I?
Abed: I don't know. In the background.

It did feel like filler, didn't it? I won't go so far as to say that Community isn't about its characters, but I guess the reason this episode felt filler-ish is that Community is usually, more this season than the first (and you have to pay more attention to the way the second season of a show functions than the way the first season of a show functions), so much a deconstruction and takedown of sitcom tropes and movie genres that when we have an episode that's all about plot or character, it feels odd. It was a refreshing oddness, though, because I've been ambivalent toward Community and its reliance on gimmick episode" lately - the zombie movie episode, the clip show-that's-not-really-a-clip-show episode, the bottle show, the Pulp Fiction/My Dinner with Andre episode, the "Modern Warfare" sequel - and I don't want to become disenchanted with the show. That said, it probably seems like they're doing more gimmick episodes than they actually are, and most of the ones I just cited are hilarious. Anyway, if this week's was sort of filler, it was still a good episode.

I'm still laughing at the look on Britta's face when she peaks under the dress to deliver the baby. I love how that was shot.

So what did everyone think of A Fistful of Paintballs? I was just stoked to see Josh Holloway on my TV again! I'm so sad Black Rider's out.

I'm catching up on the season, slowly but surely. I just reached the episode where Chang tries to become "fatherly" and ends up kidnapping that random-lady's two sons. I nearly had an aneurysm from laughter. And I was sad that the baby wasn't Chang's And now, to watch A Fistfull of Paintballs!!!!!!

A-MA-ZING. I loooooooved it. And I'm so excited for next week! I think my favorite part of A Fistful was Chang running around blindfolded. I was laughing much too hard at that. And, of course, Mr. Holloway was sexy, although he had way too many layers of clothes on. But really, he was awesome.

I liked it a lot, to my surprise. When I first heard that they were doing a Modern Warfare "sequel," I was worried because I'd end up comparing it to Modern Warfare and feel disappointed as a result. But throughout the episode, I didn't. (Or maybe that's because of Josh Holloway ... heh.) I'm really glad this episode had a more western feel because that made it seem different from MW already. Also, it wasn't completely random; the group mentioned their problem with Pierce's behavior, something that's been bugging the fans. A lot of times characters are written OoC or to the extreme with no explanation or consequences for it, so it's refreshing to see that there is actually a point to making Pierce act like the villain this season.

The only bad thing is that Black Rider is gone now.

Yeah, I liked that, too. I got a storm trooper vibe from the ending with all the white-clad guys marching out of the van. Looking forward to this week's.

I told you he was so handsome! I loved how jealous Jeff was of him! "You're not that handsome--you have a big chin."

Re: Community

So what did everyone think about the Star Wars edition of paintball? I thought it was a fun episode. Loved Troy struggling for power with Jeff and Abed as Han. You could see the resolution coming a mile away with Peirce winning, giving the money to Greendale, and the group asking him back. What I did not expect was for him to turn them down. I'm left curious as to how they'll get Peirce back in the group next season because I can't see the writers keeping Chevy out of the group. I can't wait to see what class they'll all take together next season.

Hey, did anyone catch Busy Phillips and the actor who plays Courtney Cox's son on Cougar Town cheering like maniacs with the rest of the crowd when Peirce won? Anyone know for sure why they were randomly on there? I seem to vaguely remember that Abed visited the set of Cougar Town, didn't he? I love when this show does small, random shout outs like that.

Abed- I mean, Han Solo () was perhaps my favorite part. Love the Star Wars theme, but hated that it was only a half-hour episode. Peirce better not be leaving for good. As much as I don't care for Chevy Chase, Peirce is an integral character in the group!

I think they should all take an English class, or maybe Philosophy.

There's no way they're letting go of Chevy Chase (unless he really wants to leave the show, but I haven't heard that). I read an interview that said the show-runner just prefers evil Pierce. Don't know how that's going to play out.

Re: Community

I kinda got bored of the paintball episodes... three in the span of two seasons? I dunno, seemed a little bit lazy to me.

I can't see them getting rid of Pierce either. It just wouldn't be the same replacing him with some other old wacko

Dan Harmon was interviewed on today's episode of the "*** with Marc Maron" podcast. Always a great podcast, and it's a terrific episode, so it's well worth listening to.

I didn't see it until fans started mentioning it online, but it's a great easter egg. Also I just saw that Abed is in the background for a Cougartown episode! (Hopefully it's okay to post it here. )

Yay! I love when I spot those--I only noticed her right away because I loved Freaks and Geeks. I had to rewind to see the other guy and then I realized they were from Cougar Town. Thanks for posting that clip!
