Finally! Go Lakers! The Cavs have been a pain in our backside for a while - that was a sweet revenge game. .

Re: NBA Basketball

Congratulations to Kobe and Lebron for torching a mediocre (at best) Knicks squad in the Garden on consecutive nights.

I got the feeling that last night, LeBron was playing only to break Kobe's MSG scoring record in the fourth quarter... he let the Knicks hang around. I really, really don't like LeBron.

Big game tonight: Celtics vs. Lakers! Hopefully it ends like the last time they played each other at the Garden.

Re: NBA Basketball

See, and I like Lebron okay, but Kobe's off-court issues make him hard to like--though the sports world seems to have blocked that out just about entirely.

I think Kobe's issues never turned out to be anything legitimate- he wasn't convicted ever.

I basically don't like LeBron just because of how everyone talks about him. I know that's not fair to him, but it is endlessly infuriating to have him referred to as "King James" every two seconds, even though he hasn't accomplished anything yet in the NBA title-wise. Listening to the ABC commentators drool over him every game during the Celts/Cavs series last year was so annoying. Now all anyone ever talks about is his contract that doesn't even end for another year and a half. It's the most ridiculous thing ever. And the comparisons of him to MJ... if LeBron wins six championships, then we can talk.

i know what you mean about the endless talk about LBJ (particularly from people who don't follow the sport)..however i think you are being harsh on the big guy! yes he gets compared to Michael Jordan, who has won 6 NBA titles...even though Jordan was the franchise player, he also had around him an extremely good team, who knew how to work together...plus he was being coached by Phil Jackson who has won 9 NBA titles as a coach!
up until this year Lebron has been carrying his team to the play-offs on his own! now he finally has a team around him who can ease his burden!
For all that Kobe has accomplished so far in his career (3time NBA Champ, youngest player to reach 20,000 points, 11 time All-Star etc...) i truly believe that LBJ will easily surpass that! the guy is a Phenom!

on another note i'm a HUGE Kevin Garnett fan, so COME ON YOU CELTICS!

Re: NBA Basketball

Who do people fancy to reach the NBA finals, now that its down to the Conference Final?

I personally think Cav's will beat Magic 4-2, and Western Conference will go down to game 7! I hope The Nuggets can overcome the Lakers!

Well seeing how the Cav's are down 1-3 (hot damn!), I doubt even Lebron can come back from this deficit. Blame his team I guess, but I must say the Magic have been playing circles around them im the past few games. The first win I thought was pure luck, but the last two, while close, were very decisive.

As for the Laker's, it's their time right now. Kobe, Gasol, and the rest really need to get something going if they plan to make an impact on the finals this year.

NBA 2009-2010 Season

The new season has begun.

I don't know why we even bother playing. Everyone knows the Spurs are going to win it all this year.

Careful, look what happened to Tony Parker already.

Re: NBA Basketball

Yeah. It just made me think, image Parker gets injured there and the Spurs' season is turned upside down.

Anyway, i'm a bit out of touch with everything these days, i need time to catch up.

Bit disappointed with Batum's injury. He had a great summer with the French national team and i was looking forward to this season for him.

Re: NBA Basketball

I think it's great when players step up to play for their national teams. However, I really think the national teams themselves feel the players owe them something while not caring about the players themselves.

Re: NBA Basketball

Hmm. There's probably a bit of both. I can see why professional teams are cautious about their players spending time with their national teams. I wouldn't say national teams don't care about their players.. But it probably depends on which country we're talking about. I can see Lithuanian or Serbian players getting real pressure because basketball is almost life and death over there.

Who do you see as the strongest team in the east?

Re: NBA Basketball

The East is going to be a 2-team race...Boston and Orlando. Cleveland will play around in the mix, but it's still LeBron against the world...and that just won't cut it come playoff time.

I just loved watching D.Rose play. I know the Bull's aren't going nowhere really this season but it sure is fun watching them.

Re: NBA Basketball

Your Bulls just out-hustled my Spurs. I won't even argue that point. Of course, the Spurs ALWAYS start slowly. This year that slow start may be even more accentuated...they are integrating several new players into the rotation (McDyess, Jefferson, Ratliff, Blair, and to a lesser extent Bougans). Add to that their early-season B2B record is usually abysmal.
