I don't think it's a rude thing to say at all and I don't think it shows a sense of entitlement either.

I'm not asking them to go back and re-do the special effects on Grawp because the fans deserve better CGI. I'm asking them to release for sale a series of deleted scenes that they have bundled away in the studios. If anything, I should be more outraged at Newell and Yates. Columbus has released a ton of extra content and gave permission to use the extended editions in the Ultimate release, as a director who respects that hardcore fans want more. Cuaron really used practically all of his scenes in the theatrical release, I don't blame him to not go back and add the 3 or whatever minutes of deleted content he has. Newell has at least 2 significant deleted scenes (Priori Incantantem Explanation, Waterfall) that have never seen the light of day. And while Yates did well with releasing most of the HBP deleted content. Yates deleted around 45 minutes off his original cut of OOTP and OOTP has at least 6 significant scenes we know about (Auror attack, DA disbanding, Longer Snape's Worst Memory, Extended Battle, Harry mourning Sirius, Draco mourning Lucius and McGonagall recovering) and DH Part 1 has a few as well.

That was my first post ever on anything related to Harry Potter, so it's not like it's a regular thing and it probably never will be. And as I said, until an e-book version of the HP novels are released, no, I have no interest in reading them. Unusual or not, saying I didn't help to make HP famous at all because I'm not "hardcore" is very arrogant and elitist.

It does, though. Why are you a "hardcore" fan that deserves to have the movie cater to your personal expectations? Because you read the books? Book sales have absolutely zip to do with how much money the movies make, except for establishing a fanbase, but clearly that isn't needed for someone to watch them.

Saying that you want an extended version is another, saying that you demand/deserve one because you're somehow a better fan is just asinine.

I think there was an interview where someone confirmed there indeed was an extended scene with Aberforth talking about the Dumbledores' backstory.

I don't think there is much more from DH2, to be honest. Most likely just little things like alternate shots and stuff. Even most of the deleted scenes were short.

Any word on whether the FULL Death Eater battle at Hogwarts at the end of HBP was ever filmed? I know Yates cut the action to avoid "repetition" with the final battle at the end of Deathly Hallows, but does it even exist in any form? Or was it fully cut before the final draft of the script

As far as I know it was never filmed, instead he burned down the Burrow.

yeah thats what i figured. it's a shame they never expanded that scene, the full fight was so crucial in building the severity of the tone/atmosphere in DH

It was ridiculous to compare the two scenes; the HBP scene was a skirmish, not a battle at all. Oh well, Yates thought HBP was a romantic comedy.

I found a photo showing that the scene “The Forest Again” has an extended version (in the photo Harry walks with his parents, Sirius and Remus in the Forbidden Forest) and one in which Harry and Hermione are in Sirius’s room while Hermione is reading Lily’s letter ... I wonder if these scenes are included in wizard collection or if they will be included in a future definitive collection.

I will point out that to this date, no collectors edition of the films have included more deleted scenes (with the exception of 2 short scenes - about 5 seconds each - in the CoS Extended Version). The deleted scenes from the first DVD release are it for now.

I agree, I thought Order of the Phoenix was lacking a bit, it'd probably be better with those added scenes.

I feel like we're not going to see these scenes for a long time. Probably in a 20th anniversary addition or something.

There might be some mentioned earlier in these threads (Victor at the Wedding comes to mind) but I have the feeling that there were very few deleted scenes (that weren't on the DVD release) for DH1 and DH2.
