True, I'm one of those annoying people that doesn't like change - but just like their change in style, I quite like it now.

Quote:
Yay on both counts lol.

Yeah I'm guessing it would be something like that. Yeah you should try get the front anyway, the guards up the front are usually pretty good about getting people out if they're not feeling too good.
Yeah, they were good with giving everyone water and stuff at Panic, which was good because I got so thirsty after a while.

Quote:
Haha true! I hate when there are tall people up the front, I'm not very tall myself. And getting elbowed in the head can't be much fun!
I'm not that tall either, usually if I stand on tipitoes I can see, though.

Quote:
Haha I always do that, especially when it comes to music stores! I haven't got Live in Chicago yet. Hoping to get it soon though.
Hehe, I do it at my work - I wanted two cookbooks and ended up buying four books and a DVD. But it's alright since I get a staff discount lol.

Quote:
Haha Brendon is awesome. Ahhh I really want it now! Will have to wait until I get paid next though.
He seems like he would be fun to be friends with (like Gabe), I still replay his 'improv guitar expression' (we talked about it earlier) in my head, lol.

I'm usually quite open to change when it comes to music. Yeah, it does surprise me at first but I love seeing a band grow and evolve, as long as the change isn't too eratic and it is still true to who the band is, if that makes any sense.

Lol I honestly don't know what I'd do without those guys, I'd die without them shooting water at us every now and then.

Lol that's awesome. Where do you work? In a bookstore or something? I hardly ever enter a shop and leave only with what I went in for.

Yeah exactly, they both seem like they'd be really fun to be around. It would be a laugh a minute with those two. Haha yeah that sounded so funny!

Sorry for the lateness of my reply, the past week or so I've been on holidays with friends.

Yeah, Dymocks. I think there are a couple of them in New Zealand? I'm the same. The other week I went looking for a denim skirt and ended up with black shorts :/

Also, I just had a Panic! At the Disco related freak-out. I was looking at Buzznet where it said they played a gig in Melbourne yesterday, and since I'm not working for a few days I coul have gone. But then I was absolutely sure that I would have heard about it, or got an email from Frontier Touring or something. So I did some snooping, to which I found out that someone had mistakenly written that they were part of the Big Day Out line up I was really upset for a few minutes there!

Panic! at the Disco

I love Panic! at the Disco! Their songs are cool, weird, and awesome all rolled into one! Some faves are, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", and "Nine In The Afternoon".

Yep we have them here too. I reckon it would be a pretty cool place to work, I've always wanted to work at a book store. Especially these days where "book store" is no longer limites to just books.

Damn, I would've been freaking too! I really do hope they come back our way sometime soon though (for real!). I miss them. Also, do you have a Buzznet account?

Haven't heard much from them, but I do love I Write Sins, Not Tragedies. I love the lyrics to it.

Oooooooh totally agree! I go running in the mornings with my ipod and this one is currently on repeat. The song simultaneously makes me happy and excited and gets the blood pumping!

It never fails to make me laugh!

Re: Panic! At The Disco

So, I searched up a couple of their other songs (I forget the names) and I don't like them. Most of their songs sound... the same. The lead singer doesn't do anything different with his voice and the sounds of the music are all so alike. I don't like them at all except for I Write Sins, Not Tragedies.

Me too, as you can see.

Yeah it is pretty good, but I must say it isn't really what I expected it would be. Not in a bad way though.

Well it looks like they won't be coming back to the Southern Hemisphere, or at least not as they were. Ryan and Jon have left the band Not rumour mongering, it's on their official website and facebook. No, I don't have a buzznet account, I just occasionally go on there to look for unofficial Panic updates.

I'm so upset now, Panic will never be thye same without Ryan and Jon...

Re: Panic! At The Disco

Ahhh, they're leaving?! Nooo!!!!!!!

EDIT: Okay, I just found out, they are leaving. NO!!!!! Anyways, Panic's new single is called "New Perspective".
Here are the lyrics:
I feel the salty waves come in
I feel them crash against my skin
And I smile as I respire because I know they'll never win
There's a haze above my TV
That changes everything I see
And maybe if I continue watching
I'll lose the traits that worry me

Can we fast-forward to go down on me?
Stop there and let me correct it
I wanna live a life from a new perspective
You come along because I love your face
And I'll admire your expensive taste
And who cares divine intervention
I wanna be praised from a new perspective
But leaving now would be a good idea
So catch me up on getting out of here

Taking everything for granted but we still respect the time
We move along with some new passion knowing everything is fine
And I would wait and watch the hours fall in a hundred separate lines
But I regain repose and wonder how I ended up inside

Can we fast-forward to go down on me?
Stop there and let me correct it
I wanna live a life from a new perspective
You come along because I love your face
And I'll admire your expensive taste
And who cares divine intervention
I wanna be praised from a new perspective
But leaving now would be a good idea
So catch me up on getting out of here

More to the point, I need to show
How much I can come and go
Other plans fell through
And put a heavy load on you
I know there's no more that need be said
When I'm inching through your bed
Take a look around instead and watch me go

Stop there and let me correct it
I wanna live a life from a new perspective
You come along because I love your face
And I'll admire your expensive taste
And who cares divine intervention
I wanna be praised from a new perspective
But leaving now would be a good idea
So catch me up on getting out of here

It's not fair, just let me perfect it
Don't wanna live a life that was comprehensive
'Cause seeing clear would be a bad idea
Now catch me up on getting out of here
So catch me up I'm getting out of here

I couldn't find the audio for it, but it sounds really good from the lyrics. I can't wait!!!

EDIT: I just bought "New Perspective" off of iTunes, and it's amazing! It's so great, and sounds kind of different then all of their other stuff.

I listened to it the other day, sounds promising. I'm thinking the split could maybe be a good thing, if Brendon and Spencer can now do the type of music they really wanted.

Ryan's new band is called The Young Veins (I say Ryan's rather than Ryan and Jon's, because everything about it has 'RYAN' written all over it). They have a single on their myspace called 'Change'. There's big argument on at the moment about which is better, I haven't heard either enough to judge.

Um, bump? *ahem*

I like this band. I don't really follow news on any bands, so all I tend to know are the songs and I love them. The new album is very very good. Been listening to it quite a bit. Can't wait for these guys to tour for it.

Re: Panic! At The Disco

I heard their new song the other week and it's reminded me just how much I love this band! Their first album brings back so many memories for me, I think it was my "teenage angst" album I love the new song, good to see them go back to their old style a bit although I really loved their second album, probably very underrated. Is their new album all like their first? Or is it a mixture? I haven't hear anything apart from "The Ballad of Mona Lisa"

Re: Panic! At The Disco

New album is very, very good! I was somewhat nervous leading up to the release, this being the first album since Ryan and Jon left. But I'm happy to say it's an awesome album and it completely blew my expectations out of the water.

The sound of this album is more of a mixture of what we heard on the previous two albums. I would say it's leaning more towards their first album with definite hints of Pretty Odd in there too. A reviewer in Alternative press described it as having the "youthful exuberance of their debut with the restraint and maturity of 2008's Pretty. Odd." which I think describes the album perfectly.

Re: Panic! At The Disco

I have been to dozens of concerts over the last decade, and the one I went to tonight to see Panic! at the Disco at the Wiltern was the second best I have ever seen. (Second to the first time I saw my favorite band.)

Brendon was just on fire. He was so engaging, so energetic, and they all played so so well. Their set list was awesome, it was long, and they definitely reminded me why they are one of my favorite bands. So, so good. Just got home. ^_^

Re: Panic! At The Disco

I lurv P!ATD. I really think that the music video for "It's Better if you do" and Build God, Then We'll Talk" are quite awkward. I love that phrase in "I constantly thank God for Esteban." I think it's "Strike up the band! Who-oh, the conductor is beckoning, come congregation lets sing it like you mean it, now don't you move. Just classic.

Panic! At The Disco is classified as grunge/metal/punk because a number of their songs are like that, like I write Sins, not Tragedies and The Ballad Of Mona Lisa. But, I do agree, Folkin' Around and The Piano Knows Something I don't are most certainly not grunge, but as a majority of the songs are, that is how this thread ended up here.
