Re: Questions for the Indians

There was a time when this thread was buzzing with activity!

Anyway, its happy news for all Indians as Chandrayaan-1 successfully lands on the moon making India amongst the elite nations of US, Russia and ESA to have the national flag painted on the moon.

A proud moment for us all indeed!

A detailed report with pictures is here

Re: Questions for the Indians

TV Channels are dubbing today India's 9/11. It has been a night and day of terror in Mumbai, India's financial capital. The hostage crisis still continues in India's worst terrorist attack till date.

My prayers for the hostages to be rescued and hopes rest with the RAF, Army and the NSG.

Also Mumbai's Bravehearts- the Policemen ( including ATS Chief Hemant Karkare) who laid the lives to save others will always be remembered. They are the true heroes that India will always be proud of.

Re: Questions for the Indians

I love the rich and diverse culture we have and how we mostly balance between tradition and modernity

Re: Questions for the Indians

Ok I have a question! Hopefully someone is still around who can answer.

So I occasionally read another forum and they were talking about the name India and it's been a really popular girls' name in the UK for several decades (possibly centuries?) and it's beginning to be used more in the US and a lot of the posters were saying it's offensive to Indians to name a child India because using it is a reference to colonialism. But all the people arguing this are like white social justice bloggers, so I wanted to get a legitimate opinion on this.
