Noticing HP Actors in Other Movies

Kelly Macdonald (Helena Ravenclaw in Harry Potter) was in the recent film version of Anna Karenina. She was apparently also in the Decoy Bride - this film didn't make it to a cinema near me which was a pity as I really wanted to see it as it had David Tennant in....

Watched Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Ciaran Hinds (Aberforth Dumbledore) played one of the villains.

I just saw a version of Peter Pan on t.v., dated 2003. Jason Isaacs was Mr. Darling/Capt. Hook.
He spoke just like Lucius Malfoy, same slow pace.

Anna Karenina also has Shirley Henderson (Myrtle) who was also in Trainspotting with Kelly MacDonald.

Kelly MacDonald was also in The Girl in the Cafe with Bill Nighy (Scrimgeour).

Peter Pan wasn't a successful movie and Isaacs said in an interview that it nearly tanked his career. He was grateful to the HP movies for rescuing him.

Just saw the new Great Expectations, directed by Mike Goblet of Fire Newell.

Good, solid, faithful adaptation which sometimes felt a bit rushed. But I liked it more than the BBC version last year, which truncated the story too much.

Quite a few HP regulars feature: Ralph Fiennes gives a powerful, moving performance as Magwitch and Helena Bonham Carter was born to play Miss Havisham.

Robbie Hagrid Coltrane plays Jaggers. Coltrane is physically very different from Canon Jaggers but gives a subtle, distinguished performance which captures Jaggers perfectly. Jessie Lavender Cave does a great job as Biddy, an underestimated Dickens woman.

Worth watching, particularly for Ralph and Helena.

I was watching the first two Game of Thrones seasons, and was happy to see Natalia Tena, who plays Tonks in the series. Ciaran Hinds, who plays Aberforth Dumbledore, will be in the next season. I think there are a couple others, but I can't remember.

Alan Rickman is in Gambit - I saw it last night and he was very good in it!

Dan Radcliffe is ina 4 part television series which started on Sky Arts 1 last night called 'A Young Doctors Notebook.' it was very funny and I really enjoyed it - I am looking forward to the next 3 instalments...

I saw Quartet today - excellent film. it contained 3 Harry Potter actors - Michael Gambon, Maggie Smith and David Ryall ( he plyed Elphias Doge in DH Pt1)

This isn't a movie, and I'm not sure about posting the link to the site, but Rupert Grint will be joining a new CBS comedy pilot, "Super Clyde." He'll be playing a fast food worker who dreams of becoming a super hero
