I say GoF. It focused on a clear point A to point B plot, while capturing the spirit of the book.

I'm a big pushover and love them all...but I think my favorite would be PoA...I have a weakness for pretty films and I thought it was pretty...don't ask! Plus any movie with Gary Oldman in it is fine by me!

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix. I think it will be better than Prisoner of Azkaban, which currently is my most favorite one.

I'd have to say Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. It was my introduction into the world of Harry Potter - I had refused to read them, and reluctantly sat in the den while my sister watched the movie... and I was hooked by the time Harry and Hagrid got to Diagon Alley. I then read and fell in love with all of the books (up to GoF - OotP hadn't come out yet). The SS movie was the beginning for me.

I've loved all the movies. The first two were just adorable, the third was something a little different, which made it certainly interesting, and the forth had some great special FX and an improvement in acting.

I'm a huge fan of Prisoner of Azkaban. I love the film, and I can watch it over and over and over...

But GOF... I was bored watching it in the cinema, was very disappointed, and I've only watched it once since I got it on DVD. It's not got that re-watchable quality.

PoA. It's the best actual movie. The problem is that GoF tries to be an adaption of the book whilst being conscious that it's cutting out a great deal of material. PoA was far more mature in style, and was given free reign to be a movie rather than a straight adaption - it wasn't trying to live up to the book, if you see what I mean. The cuts were artistic and made to make it into a better movie, rather than just time constraints, and as a result it's the most rounded of the four. It also easily has the best cinematography, innovative touches and use of soundtrack as far as I'm concerned. Importantly it's the first time the kids really start to act as well, and I think there's a greater chemistry between characters, as if it's more of a well-oiled machine at the third attempt. The scene between Harry and Lupin on the bridge is also just about my favourite bit in any of the movies because it's a combination of all of this: scriptwriting for the movie, great acting, fantastic camerawork and location/photography, and a lovely use of music. Terrific.

I think it would be Prisoner of Azkaban. it was made really well.It moved at a right speed and they dint even cut out many things.I really liked Goblet of Fire but the movie moved so fast any person who doesn't read the books wouldn't understand anything. It was like we couldn't even a minute or else we would miss something important and they cut of loads of important things.............Quiditch world cup,......dobby,....winky,.....Ludo bagman,....bill....dursley's....ton tongue toffee!!

I did like goblet of fire but i was a little disapointed because it was on of my favorite books. I Like POA a little better(just bought it the other day) because it was how i had imagined it. It was also the first book i read since i saw the first two movies.

I've been rather disappointed in all of them, compared to the books.

I think I would have to say Chamber of Secrets because the acting of the main characters was so much better.

I really didn't like Prisoner of Azkaban.

His mother's face, his father's voice, the sight of Cedric, dead on the ground, all started spinning in his head until he could hardly bear it, until he was screwing up his face against the howl of misery fighting to get out of him

Re: Favorite / Best Harry Potter movie so far? v2

I tend to like "pieces" of movies, so there was a little something I liked in each of the movies.

But my favorite overall? I'd say it would be Prisoner of Azkaban. I saw the movie before I read the book and I was frankly surprised at how well they adapted it. I thought the time travel aspect was very well done. (I LOVED that big clock tower they had. Cinematography on that was fabulous.)

And for someone who had no idea of the plot of the book or what was coming next, I think it really was a good "movie" in a way that Goblet of Fire was not.

Goblet of Fire was the first book I'd read before seeing the movie and I was desperately glad I'd read it, because I would have had no clue what was going on otherwise.

(Although I must admit the whole Yule Ball thing and the arguments between Ron and Harry are some of my very favorite scenes in the whole film series.)

It's between Philosophers' Stone and Chamber of Secrets for me. I abhorred PoA and GoF was just "meh".
