Eighties, I'd say, round about 87.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

I'm expecting it to be at about 90, 95 range. For my rating I'm expecting this movie to better than Batman Begins and to be like 100% in the maximus awsomeness level (weird arn't I?) Batman Begins is my favorite movie ever and this movie has to compeate with it to win over my favor. Although I think it already has from the photos and trailers. I'm just typing whatever pops into my mind right now about the movie. Since sometimes my thoughts don't make any sense whatsoever, don't expect what I said above to be. Whatever!

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

Has anyone seen the Gotham Tonight "shows" from Comcast. They are very interesting. I liked when they interviewed Gordon about the batman signal he said "Faulty lighting, I've been trying to fix it for weeks, but don't tell my wife that she has been begging me to change the bulb in the basement." or something like that, but it's funny.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

Ebert and Roeper gave amazing reviews! Roeper said that it's one of the best movies of the year and should be considered for Best Picture. Roeper also thinks that Heath Ledger should be nominated for Best Supporting Actor and says that Ledger creates "one of the most memorable screenplays of the decade." He goes so far to say that it may be the best super hero movie ever made and that Nolan created a "near masterpiece."

I tend to avoid opening week crowds even though I'm dying to see the movie. I will see Hellboy this week and Batman next week.

As impressive as it looks I'm taking every review with an extra grain of salt as Ledger's death has understandably coloured things.

Ledger did amazing! I don't know where to start... This was a fantastic movie. Absolutely loved it! I'll have to get the excitement out of my system, I'm still speechless... Ledger did a great job. I haven't read the reviews on Ledger, but had personally been very skeptical of him taking on this role. My skeptisim was quite wrong.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

I just got home from the midnight showing, and I'm so glad I went. I was tired before the movie started, but absolutely wide awake as soon as it began. I was completely riveted from the first frame to the last. Not only Ledger (who was phenominal), but everything about the film. It was a great screenplay, extremely well-written, never a dull moment. And it didn't hurt that Christian Bale was so swoon-worthy as Bruce Wayne, all dapper and ridiculously handsome in his suits. (Sorry to go all fangirl there, but it could not be helped!) But the entire film was great--all the actors, the action and stunts, the plotting, the themes, the score, everything. One of the best movies I've ever seen--and I wasn't an obsessive Batman fan before this film, so that's saying a lot.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

I saw the midnight showing, and I was impressed. I confess that I only thought Batman Begins was good, I didn't think it was wonderful. But with all the hype and amazing reviews I read, I decided to see the Dark Knight at midnight anyway. I liked it better than Batman Begins. The plot was good, the music was great (I love film scores!), the action was exciting. The cinematography was really cool. Some of the shots of the Joker in particular were really imaginitive and chilling. And now, the characters. Christian Bale is a very good Batman, and it doesn't hurt that he's really hot! Heath Ledger was amazing, truly a wonderful performance. Gordan had a bigger part, which I enjoyed, because I don't think he got enough time in Batman Begins. His character gets more complex and interesting. Harvey Dent was cool, I liked Aaron Eckhart (sp?) playing him. Morgan Freemen's always good, and Alfred was good too, but I didn't think there was enough of him. I didn't really care for Maggie Ghyllenhal (sp??!), but I didn't really care for Katie Holmes either. It was a pretty good movie, and I'm glad I saw it at midnight. The only part I didn't like was the ending, and here's why:
Spoiler: show
So, the Joker only gets captured by the SWAT team? I expected him to die, or at least make some kind of grand escape, but the last shot of him just made me think "oh. So he's going jail? Huh." As for Batman being "bad" now, I thought that was kind of weird, but I didn't dislike it. It definately suggests a third movie.

In my theater, there was applause when the movie ended, which is always fun! There was also applause when one of my friends turned up dressed as the Joker! It was great.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

I went to the midnight showing. This movie was the most amazing movie I have seen this year. Heath Ledger was incredible. He played the Joker way better then I expected. He was amazing. Gary Oldman was, of course, amazing. Christian Bale played the perfect Batman.

Unfortunatly for me, I missed the last 5-10 minutes of the movie because the film broke.
Spoiler: show
The last part I saw was Batman and Gordon talking after Batman fell off the building towards the end.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

Best Superhero movie that I've ever seen, period. Ledger played the joker so well that I wouldn't be surprised if this movie could double as a horror flick. I was certianly freaked out by the character because Ledger was just so darn creepy.

Ledger truly set the bar for how actors should portray comic book characters. The reason that I've never really been interested in Superhero movies is because the characters and situations are very unrealistic, therefore we can't relate. But I actually found myself thinking that a psychopath like Ledger's Joker wasn't entirely unrealistic. He brought the fantasy out of the joker and implimented the image of a psychopath that could actually exist. The Joker in this movie no doubt, will be referenced for years to come.

I thought that Batman Begins was good, but this movie really out-did it's predeccesor. I didn't expect to be too thrilled with it, but I will be daring enough to say that this is the best movie that I've seen so far this decade.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

I SOOO want to see this movie. I've heard that Ledger's performance was Astonishing and Very Good. Many people I have talked with said he played the Joker in complete perfect character. I enjoyed Batman Begins, I thought it was very nicely done. Christian Bale did a wonderful job. I love Michael Caine - I love him the most in his role as Ebenezer Scrooge and Dr. Wilbur Larch. By the way - how long is the movie??

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

I love how Ledger added some humor into The Joker's character. Sick and crazy humor, but it was awesome. I've read up on what the critics had to say about Ledger and a few said that he deserves an oscar which I agree.

Basically what happens is that Gordon says how Dent's betrayels will destroy the city that believed in him as their "White Knight." So Batman makes Gordon blame it all on him. He says the city needs a hero to believe in, like Dent, and telling them the truth about Dent would undo all the good that they had done. So he wants to take the fall for the good of Gotham. Thus, he's their "Dark Knight."

I also thought that the way they left things with the Joker was to set up the third film. There was a small resolution, a small victory for Batman: the people on the boats didn't blow each other up, and the Joker got caught without intending to be. But yeah, they left that storyline cliffhanging a bit. Obviously they didn't know that Ledger would die shortly thereafter, so they left things with the Joker kind of unfinished to set up the next film, I think. The question is, how will that be handled in the next film?

I absolutely agree. That's what I love about Christopher Nolan's Batman, in general--the realistic quality of it. It does not play like a comic book, but seems to be set in the real world where all of these things could really happen. I liked that about Batman Begins as well.

Awesome. Thank you.
This movie was absolutely perfect. If this movie doesn't get at least one Oscar, then people are crazy.

That's pretty long. I hope I can hold it without going to the bathroom. I can't drink too much pop. I must not miss a scene.

Your spoilers can not trick me into opening them. No matter what I am resisting your evil spoilers.
